Great thermal paste Great thermal paste. I bought this when I replaced the cpu in an old dell of mine that still had some use left in it. Keeps the temps down better than the stock paste dell put on there and that's about it. Great for the few bucks it cost! 4Thermal Oxide Paste! Its thermal oxide paste... I had plenty to do multiple CPUs although only needed enough for one. I am happy with the product price and shipping. 4Chillin like a Villan I had a computer that was shutting down with no warning randomly. There was no error message either, very strange. I downloaded a heat monitor program and it seemed to be running hot. So, I took a chance and ordered this and took it apart carefully. Cleaned the heat sink and cpu carefully with rubbing alcohol and queue tips (easy.) And, SHAZAM! It now works flawlessly, faster and seems to be running about 30 degrees cooler possibly 40 thought it bounces around.I was a bit skeptical but it works remarkably well. The scariest part is taking the laptop apart. My advice take a piece of paper and put the screws on the paper where they were on the lap top. So you know where to put them back. Double check all your ribbons and connectors before screwing it back together and test it before putting in all the back screws. (I forgot one connector. And couldn't get a ribbon back in without removing the keyboard.) While you are in there blow out the dust in the fan in the correct direction and vents etc with a can of air or an air compressor.Note it is normal for the factory thermal compound to break down in maybe 5 years or less. So this is normal maintenance but should last longer.Yes it really does work. I got the small tube and could probably do 2 PCs with it, since I don't do this often and would buy again rather than hunt down where I put the tube in 5 years. 5Does what it's supposed to I used this product after re-flowing the solder on a faulty graphics chip in a Compaq laptop. The GPU doesn't overheat anymore since I've used this (in conjunction with a 1mm copper shim to bridge the gap between the GPU and heatpipe), so I have to assume it works. The only thing is that from the picture of the product I had expected it to be the size of a medical syringe. Granted it's described as 1.5 g, I suppose in my head I wasn't able to visualize what a gram equals in terms of liquid weight. In reality the syringe is about the size of a standard paperclip. No complaints to be had though since you actually use very little paste what they give you is probably enough for 7-10 applications with some left over for a rainy day. 5Bad Thermal Paste with weird clear liquid Thermal Paste came just like the picture, I used this on two of my machines, but I notice the temp isn't right at all. Took one apart first and saw some weird clear liquid surrounding the paste area. So I took the CPU cooler off the other machine and the same clear liquid. This is the first I have seen this type of clear liquid around the CPU after using a thermal paste and I used many thermal paste in my days. Don't get this, I recommend getting a known brand like arctic silver or cooler master. 1Easy to apply working good so far on new installation ... Easy to apply working good so far on new installation get back with me in 2019 i'll have a real good idea about it then. 5startech isnt a bad brand, but this stuff came out runny pure ... I bought this in hopes it would at least meet my expectations which were low, but to be honest spend the extra money and get artic silver 5 or something else with higher quality. startech isnt a bad brand, but this stuff came out runny pure white looked more like glue than thermal paste the temps were very bad . and over all didnt trust it not to ooz down onto my motherboard and short something out. 1Good product at a good price It worked. Great for the price. Of course the toothpaste I was using as a stopgap measure until this arrived worked also. If this isn't good enough for your application, spending three times as much for a "premium" paste probably isn't going to help you, you need a better fan and heat sink. It was more than enough for a single application but not in my judgment enough for two. 5Keeps a better temperature because of its composition, just not drastic Good paste, more than enough for 3-4 applications. Works better than others I have tried. Keeps a better temperature because of its composition, but it's not very drastic. Will recommend it. 4Garbage Absolute garbage! The thermal pads don't separate from the backings. Don't be fooled by the price. 1
