    I would recommend using it with an extension for a longer and narrower tip. Pros:- it's handy to have many bits available in a single driver, so it saves drawer space.- construction seems sturdy enough for basic jobs- good value for the money- uses universal bit size for option to use alternative and/or longer bits for other jobs (and the base has a few extra open slots to hold these bits)Cons:- bulky, stubby, and not very long- ratcheting tension feels pretty light, which doesn't aid in a feeling of confidence during use. Makes it feel kinda like your movements are too wild and uncontrolled- knob for changing the setting to lock/screw/unscrew is pretty cheap and feels somewhat flimsy. It's easy to bump it and not know which setting you've chosen- no magnetic tipsEssentially, I think this is a handy tool and it's nice to have the ratcheting feature for when I don't have the room or leverage for a 2-handed operation. Many times, though, I find myself leaving it locked and forgoing the ratcheting feature altogether because it just isn't smoother or faster than 2 hands at all. This is a device that is good to have around the house for basic jobs, but do not think this will replace all your screwdrivers. I would also recommend using it with an extension for a longer and narrower tip. 4Frustrating, poorly designed tool A ratcheting screwdriver should do one thing: ratchet. This allows you to make multiple turns without having to reposition the bit for each turn. The ratchet mechanism on this screwdriver is defective -- it turns itself off after a couple of turns. It's annoying, and when it happens unexpectedly it's easy for the bit to jump out. If you're doing woodworking this can mar the surface.The locking mechanism for the bit is a poor substitute for the normal magnetic holder. It turns changing bits into a two-handed operation.If you've used a well-designed ratcheting screwdriver you'll find this one very frustrating to use. 1Save your money! I have been reading about counterfeit products and I believe this piece of junk is one! At least I don't see a fine company like Stanley Tools putting their name on such a disgrace of a product! It will not hold the ratchet position for more than one or two turns then it slips into a regular screwdriver.I bought this thinking it would make tightening the screws on my wheelchair easier, but not so! All I did with this thing was strip the heads on the screws. So you might say that the only thing that got screwed was me! 1perfect screw driver to have at home or in the office I originally purchased a computer repair tool kit, came with screw driver, bits, tweezers, anti-static strap, electrical tape, mini screw driver set, pliers, etc.the screw driver was ok quality, but too much plastic to really last. i tried to replace it with a cheapo plastic one, that lasted 1 month (though i was using it when installing my Acura TL A-Spec lip kit, which i was putting a large amount of pressure when popping off tabs).this one is EXTREMELY HIGH QUALITY. solid components internally, with a plastic/rubber handle.whats included:the driverthe base storage piece that twist and locks into the handle(2) philips bit (PH2, PH1)(2) flat head bits (1/8, 1/4)(2) square bits (R1 and R2)features:you can adjust the ratchet to tighten, loosen, or not ratchet at allthe base of the handle twist open for bit storagethere are 3 extra storage slots (if you keep 1 bit in the screw driver)locking tip, so it will not come out when working at weird angles or when the bit decides to get stuck in a screw. you have to slide the black piece at the end of the driver back to remove or insert the bit.Cons:i honestly cant think of any real ones, maybe include the 3 more tips that the handle can store?I was so impressed with the quality of this driver for my home kit i bought a 2nd for my office. I am a System Administrator and every so often i find myself inside a computer replacing hard drives, this is the perfect tool for my drawer.i am a very smart shopper, i searched everywhere for this unit and amazon does have the best price if you get the super save shopper discount. 5Great multi-bit ratcheting driver. Huge time/work saver! You don't realize how much work and space it cuts down on until you have it in your toolbag. Seriously, my toolbag used to have a dozen single drivers in a variety of flat and Philips sizes and a magnetic non-ratcheting driver for all my various star/torx/square bits. Now I have this one and a couple small sized drivers for tight spaces. The ratcheting action works great and in tight spaces and corners is very helpful. First time I used it was to remove a heavy aluminum outside door in a tight alcove, which would have been a major pain without the ratchet. The sleeve holds the bits very well and works with any standard 1/4in bits. Since most of the standard bits now have notches on them it will not only lock the bits that comes in the handle, but most other's as well. The handle compartment hold 8 bits + 1 in the sleeve, which means you can have 9 on hand at any given time with just this one driver, combined with a 50-bit set you will have everything you would need in almost any circumstance.I bought one for myself last Christmas and liked it so much I bought one for my dad for Father's Day as well. Both of them were $12 and I would consider that a bargain. At the current price of $8 you would be crazy not to have one of these in your toolbag. Excelent item. 5It's a TRAP! Not a magnetic tip unlike amazon search brings up. Absolute junk.Amazon recommended this via a search for 'Magnetic Screwdrivers'This screwdriver is not magnetic in the way you or I would think... the tip is not magnetic.I found this out the hard way when building in a mATX computer case and one of the screwsfell off of the tip...Avoid this trap and get a real magnetic screwdriver. You'll save yourself some headaches,particularity for PC building. 1It's OK The reviews on this thing seem awesome, so I was excited to use it. I don't know if there's anything better than this out there (I've never used a ratcheting screwdriver), but I find this to be uncomfortable to use. It's an odd, bulky size, and the bits are really difficult to pull out, even though I'm pulling down correctly on the release. the handle bit storage area works, but feels cheap, like it's going to loose its plastic threads just like my dollar store multi-bit screwdriver. I don't like the feel of the ratcheting action on this, but that's a personal preference and will probably be acceptable for most people. This has been relocated in our house to be an awkward household driver living in the kitchen drawer (which is nice that it replaces the two drivers that were in there), but I'll happily keep my multiple screwdrivers and my power drills in the workspace. 3Can Not Beat Them Over All. Watch out for the blisters. First off let me say this is a GREAT product. I am not putting it down at all and for the price it cannot be beat.I have not used them long but for those who had the bit retaining lock collar funtion die I would recommend a touch of oil all around that part on day one. Hopefully that will make them work for ever. The collar works well for me. I like it !NowFor a little obsessive compulsive nit picking detail:I am a professional mechanic and have been for forty years. I use this type of driver (mostly for hex nuts and allen style cap screw bits) all day long every day.SoMy hands are toughened up and calloused as they are going to get right ?I have some drivers that I bought from a place in Europe through Amazon (Kamasa brand) and love them. Kamasa - 55846 (CD) Offline Screwdriver Problem is with shipping the price is silly expensive and they take weeks to ship. They were real eye openers because the handles are much larger than my old Craftsman or Snapon nut drivers and I can crack loose stubborn fasteners that I could not before AND I CAN EASILY GET BOTH HANDS ON THE HANDLE and really go after that one percent that is seized. No more stopping to grab a wrench.I was looking for an alternative to the Euro ones (I am going to buy many more drivers to replace my old Craft. and Snapon ) and I bought a couple of these Stanley FatMax drivers to compare. Grip and size wise they are about as good. Not quite as long a handle but a two fister none the less.My problem then ?It feels like they would give me blisters if I bought several and replaced my other drivers with them. Huh ! Some combination of the pattern on the truly grippy black rubber part and the pronounced ridges on the yellow plastic areas.The Kamasa driver handles are smooth with no rubber grip surfaces but the shape is triangular with flat areas in just the right place so I can easily get a death grip on them and NO BLISTERS. Very. very comfortable to use all day long, all week long.This will sound like a commercial but if you are used to using the old Bondus allen wrench drivers and the Craftsman socket nut drivers (my old Snapons were so small and wrong I stopped using them ) . . . the new generation of large handle drivers will be a whole new world for you.I just placed an order through Amazon for more of my larger handle Kamasa fav's from Europe.BE WARE THE KAMASAS THAT ARE MY FAV'S NO LONGER STOCK THE RATCHETING ONE. I never got one of those (the order was lost in shipping and out of stock for the second go'round ( yah we have a history )) and ratcheting is not a big deal with me. It is the handle size and shape that Kamasa has JUST RIGHT !SoYou want inexpensive and good and wear gloves get the Stanley's. They are totally worth it.If you are a tool turkey and so finicky nothing totally pleases you but you want the best get the Kamasa.Why don't they totally please me ? There was a similar driver with a better off line joint function sold by Sears that the Kamasa replaced. The Kamasa off line joint is not as functional (though plenty strong) but that is another review. 4Good design, good build quality, good price The good: Seems solidly built, but mostly plastic and made in Taiwan so we'll see. I'll update if it breaks. The grip feels good and the ratchet mechanism feels really good out of the box. You can hide the drill bits in the base and there's a good assortment of bits.The bad: It's long and bulky so it won't work for tight spaces. I had a nice driver where the shaft pivoted 90 degrees, I wish this did that. The plastic bit locking mechanism in the front could fail and also gets in the way. You can kind of use it as a grip but it catches instead of smoothly turning. Swapping bits is tedious and slow.In general, not bad, but to be 5 stars it would need to have made in america quality or fit in small spaces or somehow stand out. 4Exceeded my expectations This screw driver is well made and I love it very much. I like the ratcheting feature, I also like the feel of the handle its comfortable and it can also hold a few bits into the top of the handle.I don't intend to do any or very heavy work with it but more for general home use on my appliances, PC and other household stuff around the home.This will add to my collection of screw driver bit sets for which I have no handle but mostly kits with lots of screw driver bits.The magnet is very strong and literally pulls the bit into the socket when holding the bit close to the socket. I also like the locking feature that keeps the bit so it won't come loose, but even if the locking function in the screw driver eventually fails the magnet is so strong that it will keep the bit from falling out of the screw driver.
