'Any stream' is a bit misleading If you are familiar with Speakman then you know the anystream feature. You can get it to dribble out and be almost a solid flow to a standard spray to almost shut off. This shower head only really does one of those features. The spray is standard, but if you try and get the heavy flow, you cant. When you begin to get a heavier spray it converts over to the center spray which strangely angles the spray out away from the center of the spray head. If you have a tall shower like I do, then this feature is for wetting your extremities not your body. As far as massaging with this mode, that is funny. My shower doesn't have a lot of pressure, so this shower head doesn't have a lot of the aspects that I like so much about Speakman. There is no close to shut off either, so it doesn't serve me very well at all. I got the wand in order to clean the dog, but with no near shut off feature, I have to constantly turn the water on and off defeating my purpose for buying the wand. Also the spray is the same as the shower head and the center jets spray away from the center, which again is very odd to me. You can run both shower heads at the same time in order to try and get more coverage, but you have to find the middle of the valve and you only get 1/2 the pressure out of either head, but you can angle both shower heads so that it feels like it covers more of you. The spray is only somewhat fine to somewhat heavier, not the full range of what a Speakman is known for. Very disappointing results. Only the main shower head appears to actually be constructed of metal. The rest of the valves and wand is all plastic and cheap feeling. Would not buy one of the 'new' models if you are expecting a Speakman kind of showerhead. 2OK But Not as good ??? The VS-2007 is better than other brands on the market, example Delta, Pierce, American Standard, which I have tried in the past. If the buyer has never bought a Speakman Hand Held then this current model is great. However I bought 2 Speakman 2000 about 3 or 5(can't remember exactly) yrs ago it had the pressure of a fire hose trying to save the chimney of a burning house. My wife like it so much you wanted take it with us on our trip to New York City last year. I told her you can survive one week without it. So when we remodeled our bath with a new walk in shower I tried to order the Speakman 2000. I found out it had been remodeled to the newer version VS-2007. The 2007 can slow still save the chimney but never any other part of the house. Sometimes newer models just can't match up to the older models. 3Low flow. Don't listen to positive reviewers. We hoping this was a case of good things come to those who wait as original delivery date was Nov 2 and didn't actually arrive til Nov 21. Amazon rep confirmed that there was NO delay after calling. Hmmmm. Anyway...back to the real issue.No water pressure. My previous shower head had a very strong AND broad water stream and it was working fine, but wanted a handheld. Did tons of research from Waterpik to H2OKinetic etc and based on online reviews chose this one.Either positive reviews were paid for or reviewers have never had a good shower head. Have experience with quite a few shower heads previous being a Moen and this is the only one where you can't run water through both outside and inside nozzles. Water literally dribbles out if you try. And yes, I removed both flow restrictors and there are no leaks. The inside nozzles some have decent pressure, but no coverage. The outside nozzles some have decent coverage, but no pressure.Only next step I can think of is drilling out the holes in the diverter, but really don't want to as this will be going back.Can't speak to quality as only had it one day but hand tightening hose, felt like I could easily crack it. 2High quality and built to last. I don't don't buy plastic/throw-away. While the screw cups on the handheld nozzle hose - both ends - are plastic (the lowest quality parts of the bunch - but it's a replaceable hose so...) and require care when screwing so as not to over-tighten. All else is metal - even handle parts - except the nozzle faces themselves and a few pieces of grip on the handle. Yes, the handle is metal encased. (Not solid but metal.) The hose is light metal encased for durability and doesn't kink. The shower valve's female adapter is metal as are both male adapters. The fixed head tilts and rotate on a ball; it is mostly metal exterior and interior except for nozzle faces. The valve assembly has a hex nut to stop rotation when removing and replacing the hand nozzle. (Note: the hand nozzle package contains another cradle and ball/tilting shower adapter which is un-used but could be attached to the main assembly if angles require.)The angle on my shower's output is about 45 degrees and works perfectly. The output angle would have to be about 90 degrees - straight down to not work with all the parts included.The valve that selects flow is metal and smooth operating - as are all the selectors - very smooth and quality feel. 5Quality + Pressure = Great Product Very good water pressure from both heads on every setting. Not cheaply made like most of what you find in the box stores. The valve that directs the water is not made of cheap plastic and therefore works well. The hose is a little short to wash the dog with, but have just ordered a longer hose for it. Probably the best handheld shower product I have installed out of the many I have tried. 5Looks nice and works great This is a pretty nice handheld shower head. It is mostly made of plastic so one has to BE CAREFUL when tightening the connections. You want an all metal handheld shower head then purchase one of those for over $150 and you might be the happiest, cleanest guys in the office. But this one works great and cost about a fifth of the all metal ones. It took two attempts to screw the connector to the water source pipe but I used Teflon tape and got it just right and NO leaks. If you get leaks it is because something is not lined up or there is some debris on the threads. I am not a DIY person, don't own a tool box, and don't have a butt-crack showing when I squat down to pick-up something off the floor, but I was able to remove the existing shower head (that sucked) and installed this one without smashing my fist through the shower wall. You just have to make sure all the threads are clean, use Teflon tape, gently tighten all the connectors and you should be go to go. 4Excellent replacement shower head - Go Retro with Brass. Excellent Retro Showerhead. Our bathroom had a brass shower door. I thought it might be fun to bring it back to the 80's! Tossed out the chrome shower neck (Lowe's sells a brass replacement neck for like 6 bucks!) once the brass neck was on, we screwed this shiny Brass handheld shower head on, removed the small flow restricter using the needle nose pliers) . Installation was fairly easy and the average homeowner can do it by watching a youtube video. It looks amazing, it works amazing. Feels heavy duty and well constructed. The hose is metal as well and not junk. Best Handheld shower head i've installed in years. I had the entire project done in 45 minutes. Everything is clearly labeled where its supposed to go. Only tricky bit is removing the flow restricter with the needle nose pliers as I mentioned. Twist to adjust. No click click click. Smooth turning operation. 5Great product!! Having recently spending some time in a hotel, my wife and I both mentioned how nice the showerhead was during our visit. I looked at the brand and did research on Amazon for a Speakman shower head. I found the Napa model and ordered one. We received it quickly and i thought the box felt heavy for a shower head system. As I opened it, I found the two showerheads and the mounting device was of sloid metal. The package even included the teflon tape. The instructions were easy and in about 10 minutes I had removed our old plastic syatem and replaced it with the Speakman Napa syatem. AS in the hotel, these tow showerhead release a great even spray with several adjustments available to the user. If not only looks solid, it feels as quality should. Thanks Speakman! 5You get what you pay for I purchased this to replace a Grohe shower head that cracked after 15 years. The good news is that the price is reasonable for a plastic head especially compared to the highway robbery that Grohe charges for a head that is also plastic.My gripes... Here's the description"5 adjustable jets producing 40 individual sprays with 12 massage spray jets"This would lead you to believe that the head has multiple settings. Wrong. There are really two settings: a standard wide spray (that uses 40 holes) and a concentrated tight spray that used the center 12 holes). Unlike the Grohe that definitely had a massage pulse, the tight spray is just that a concentrated spray, I feel no pulsingThe water pressure from the wide spray is bare minimum. Again compared to the Grohe, the nozzle jets are hard plastic. If you have hard water these will clog over time. The Grohe heads user a flexible plastic at the nozzles that you can simply rub your finger over to unclog.So I saved money and my shower works again but this is not a replacement for the quality and features of the Grohe. 3Great Product and Company This polished brass version of the Speakman VS-2007 is just want I wanted and needed. The flow is very good (after the flow restrictor in the mount is removed - see below for more info)and it attaches very easily and does not leak. Yes, the product is made mostly of plastic but at this price I would not expect solid metal. For the price this works very well - much better than the Moen it replaced.In addition, Speakman customer service is excellent. The product arrived without any instructions, but since installation was pretty intuitive none were needed. However, I did not know how to remove the flow restrictor. I emailed Speakman to ask how to remove the flow restrictor and I received response within 24 hours. Here is what I was told ... the flow restrictor is located in the bracket inside the swivel ball....if you look inside the swivel ball you will see a small white piece with a tiny black o-ring inside of it, with a pair of needle nose pliers or anything that will reach down inside pull out the black o-ring. 5
