Customer Reviews

Pretty good, but not Great I purchased this case to go along with my Go-Pro Hero 3+ Black edition camera. The case itself has some structure to it and definitely seems to be sturdy enough to handle some abuse and provide additional protection for your investment while traveling. The foam slots are nice and cover most of the basic accessories, such as an extra memory card, an additional battery, A/V cables, manuals, etc. The large open slot is big enough to store the WiFi remote, mounting adapters, extra camera housing door and even a wall charger.I do not consider the case great for several reasons. First, I would like to have seen more slots for extra batteries. For some reason they made the decision to have two slots for LCD BacPak's. Now I am sure some people find this useful, but I think most people would rather have room for more batteries since many of the people I know don't have a single BacPak, let alone two. For those that have the larger camera housing to fit the GoPro with BakPak installed I don't know that it would fit inside this case. That being said, you can use the BakPak slots to hold additional batteries, so all is not lost. The other thing I don't like about the case is the mesh pocket. It sits right over the camera case lens, which I believe will create scratches over time. I use an old microfiber cloth to lay over the camera before closing the case.Am I happy with the case overall? Yes. Do I think there is room for improvement? Definitely. It would be nice to see a few different cases in the same size with layouts to meet a variety of needs. 4Good for travel Keep all your GoPro gear organized and (mostly) protected.I only use the POV Case when I travel. Even though it's bulky, it still provides some level of protection to the GoPro camera. It can be useful but it's not as good as a small, regular camera bag for carrying the essentials. For me, all I really end up needing is a spare battery just in case. One thing I noticed when I received the case was that there's no padding over the camera lens part of the case. Just the mesh pocket which might be filled with things to scratch the lens. In general though, I think the case will do a good job protecting your gear. I've been using mine for a while now on lots of flights and all my stuff is in great shape. 3Seller Makes Good On Misleading Depiction of Merchadise In Listing This rating pertains not so much to the product but to the seller's quick reaction to a listing in which the photo of the merchandise did not match the item.It must be noted the product is of good quality and is well-made. The clam-shell design is reinforced to protect everything inside and will no doubt hold up to moderate rough-handling and drops from low-level heights or even waist-level drops. It does have one pre-cut insert in the bottom compartment to hold Go-Pro gear but no where near the number of items that would have been possible if the case matched the photo which accompanied the listing. The listing featured a case that had pre-cut foam in both the lower and upper lids of the case. The case I received, however, only has this feature in the bottom compartment - and the upper lid has instead, a net for cords and, perhaps, an instruction book.Once I pointed out the discrepancy to the seller, and stressed that it did not meet Amazon requirements requiring listings to match items sent to buyers, the seller took immediate action to resolve the matter. He explained the ASIN generated a photo for a case no longer available. Regrettably, this case would not meet my needs, given the GoPro gear I own that needs a case with adequate space.Such quick action by the seller - and the well-built quality of the case received - earns the 4-stars rating, with one star deducted for the inconvenience. Sellers have the obligation to monitor their listings routinely to prevent such mistakes. Bottom line: if this case meets your needs, rest assured, this seller stands behind the product. 4Fits most but not all. I provided 2 pictures of my POV case with my Hero 3. First you will notice that it is different from the actual image they are showing by comparing the foam compartments. The material is good. I expected a little more quality at the price of $59. But it works well. It fits most of my accessories but not all. My other accessories as you can see from the picture. The Bobber, head mount, leg mount ( leg mount is custom made by me for going down water slides) wrist strap for remote, helmet mount and 2 battery pac/ LCD enclosure case. They don't fit and I have a separate zipper plastic. Which is actually better since those accessories would get wet when used.Pros: Very useful, fits most but not all, sturdy enough to keep most accessories organized.Cons: Price does not match quality. No handle from the outer shell but there are 2 loops you could probable mount a handle on.Recommendations: If you have a GoPro, chances are you will be buying additional accessories in the future. So get the Large case. You'll save money later on. 4Interior isn't as pictured Although the case seems nice, it's not as described, pictured or what I received. I researched several case options and ordered 2 of these because it was the only case that had a handgrip cut out as shown in photo, and spent much more just to get that option. All the other less expensive cases were a generic standard layout which didn't fit our needs. I was so excited when they arrived, but quickly disappointed that they both had the standard interior layout. There isn't even a way to customize it for the handgrip attachment without destroying the foam. Sadly returning and starting the search again in hopes that photos properly dispict actual items being sent. 2Good, but hard to pack items inside I like the fact that this case is nice and solid - and bright yellow. It survived my suitcase and backpack with no problems and completely protected my GoPro. Maybe it's just me, but I could have used some instructions on how to fit everything inside. I had the GoPro, LCD back, battery charger, two batteries, underwater filter and multiple bacpacs--I was only able to fit in two. Things moved around inside - I would have liked better options for partitioning the large area on the left. While they give you extra dividers to use, they are not wide enough to go from edge to edge in this area. I wish the online review on Amazon showed the inside.. I found one here: [...]. I still recommend the case -- it did help keep everything together. 4Would be 5 stars if a bit less expensive Love the case, works perfect for my needs. Only gripe is about the price, really. It feels like a $40 case - $50 tops. Also, while it is larger it still can't really accommodate multiple mounts. For example, if I put my chesty in there I can't fit the claw-grip mount or the suction mount. But it does keep the smaller things together well, and the cut-outs in the foam really add confidence to the safety and security of the fragile items inside. It is a soft-cover lid and the lid is not padded (not a hard lid like the Pelicans), so you won't want to put anything on top of this case... and if you dropped the case face-up, I don't know how protected the equipment would be. For me this isn't a problem, but if sturdiness is important to you, you might want to look elsewhere.I just needed something to keep the batteries, backpacks, and different cables together. This works perfect for my needs. 45 stars after replacement It is not SP Gadgets brand of what i received today and this is not the one i expected. If i were known this before, i'd rather not to buy. Too late when i was reading 1&2 stars reviews.Edited September 16, 2014After i received my replacement this item was really good. I can put all my accessories like mounting kit (2 long and 1 mini thumscrews), 3 cable cords (for remote and 2 for battery charger/battery bacpac/gopro camera for spare) 3 backdoors (standard, standard for lcd bacpac and battery bacpac), remote with lanyard, anti-fog insert, 1 case for bacpac, sd card with adapter, battery and lcd touch bacpacs, battery charger, protective lens, 4 extra batteries and 1 gopro hero 3+ camera. And still have enough space for other mounting accessories. Good for travel and everything you need can secured of this sp gadgets case. The foam was secure attached to the case. Good and authentic after replacement.I dont want a big case when i am going to travel because i have a dslr bag can fit only the small case. So far, everything was fine and secured inside on this case. Recommended to buy wants only a small and lightweight case. 5Great item I got this case so i can carry all of my electronics in my backpack as a carry on. I don't like my equipment knocking around in any old bag. I was able to fit all of my camera equipment in this. I own a go pro and two waterproof point and shoot cameras.I was able to fit in the case:all 3 camerasall spare batteries (3 waterproof cam, 3 gopro)GOpro remoteboth camera wall chargersgrenade gripXshot monopodGopro grab bag equipmenthead strapNothing floats around and everything fits nicely. But don't expect to put much at all in the mesh carrier at the top of the case. Most things you put in there will bump with stuff in the bottom which will make it hard to close. Also, you can only mount the gopro face up, so if anything is pushed against the front on/off button you will accidentally turn the camera on and off. 5Great if you are not planning to add accessories Over all I liked the shell design, other than the material seems to attract or make it hard to remove dirt.Pro:You can fit exactly the items displayed in the inset's picture, so if you bought the Hero 3 Black surf edition and not looking to add chest or head straps this will work fine.Like the foam and snug camera fit (except noted in the con). Can easily find what you are seeking (compared to searching a camera bag for a small part)Con:You can fit exactly the items displayed in the inset's picture so if you are like me, wanting everything in one place this will not work. You cannot add a head strap, a 2nd Skelton case (in place or the float), suction cup mount (too bulky for this case) extra batteries (more than one and recommended if using wifi which drains the batteries) and battery charger, other mounts, etc.No handle or strap, so have to carry it like a book (hard to do while filming and walking) or take up space in a backpack.Camera/case compartment is designed for small mounting shoe, so using other attachments means stripping everything down to store. Limited to what you can store and the sd card slot and the two long thin slots are a waste. It would be better to have another open storage area and two battery slots.Pocket on top shell is almost useless due to clearance. Some items like the mounting shoes and cables prevented closing as it met with the camera housing.Other than that feels like it would provide reasonable protection under normal use. 3
