  • BUILT-IN AMPLIFIER: With a MOSFET power supply you get improved switching speeds, better performance with less power from the driver, lower gate-to-drain feedback capacitance, lower thermal impedance for higher switching frequencies
  • VARIABLE LOW-PASS FILTER: A low-pass filter is an electronic circuit that removes all the notes below the filter's frequency setting. You will use the Low-pass filter to primarily keep high notes out of your subwoofer(s)
  • HIGH LEVEL INPUTS: Speaker level inputs are commonly referred to as high-level inputs. It will be used to connect the LOPRO8 to your factory radio or an aftermarket radio that does not have low-level (RCA) inputs
  • LOW LEVEL INPUTS: Line level inputs, also known as RCA inputs or low-level inputs, use RCA interconnect cables to link the LOPRO8 with the source unit. Most aftermarket radios have multiple pairs of RCA outputs that can connect to multiple amplifiers
  • VARIABLE BASS BOOST: Variable Bass Boost allows you to adjust the low bass within the boost range to just the way you like it
  • DIMENSIONS: 15" x 9.75" x 3". If you are short on space, this is a great solution for you. The combination of amplifier and subwoofer all into one, makes this ideal for spatially challenged vehicles
  • WARRANTY: Sound Storm provides a Powerful 3 Year Platinum Online Dealer Warranty so long as the purchase is made through Amazon.com. We strongly encourage professional installation of this product to ensure proper and safe functionality

Pleasantly surprised I will say that this really passed my expectations! I will say though that the key to optimal performance is to place it under the drivers seat and hold on!!! It rattles the spare change in my center console when I have it on about mid volume! Turn it louder and the change turns into jumping beans! My stereo was a C- before I installed this and now I give it a solid A-! Highly recommend to anyone. I don't see a need to pay double or triple the price for big name brand after experiencing this budget beauty!!! 5Tried 2 of these... I installed this subwoofer in my 2013 WRX using speaker level inputs because the stereo has no line outputs. The subwoofer was barely audible even with the gain and volume turned all the way up. Customer service was quick to access but offered no suggestions other than maybe the input connector was bad... Returned unit for a new one...just installed it and same thing.-UPDATE- Second one had the same issue so I decided to try a speaker to line level converter (using the RCA inputs) and the subwoofer now works well enough. Don't expect to rattle any windows with this...what it does do is nicely round out the low end, and makes the otherwise bass starved Subaru system a little better. 4LOVE IT, make some brackets to get it off the carpet ! I've only had this installed for about a week and this thing rocks ! I did not install this to the deck. I did however make sure that it would have air flow under it by making a small platform to keep it from the carpet. I strongly suggest to anyone installing any amp to allow for plenty of air flow! they blow When an amp gets hot, If they get too hot you could get a fire, Mostly what happens is you will "RAT: the speakers. If you don't know what that is, go sit in an old car with original speakers and turn the radio all the way up ! 5Impressed I was skeptical at first given the size and the price point. I purchased this for a crew cab F150 and was able to install it behind the rear seats. By going this route I can have the seats folded up and actually have MORE space than I did with the stock sub and it sounds better as well. I'm still quite impressed at the sound, as others said it will begin to roll off around 40hz but given the size and installation freedom it fits my needs well for a good compromise between sound a practicality. I did not find any woofer parameters but given the tiny enclosure volume I can only assume this unit is doing a fair bit of processing to trick the mind into perceiving more than its actually doing, this is a common tactic employed by a lot of compact Bluetooth speakers as well. It works well enough for casual listening. 5Happy power light but no sound whatsoever after 7 months 7 months after install and loving it, no sound. Using RCA preamp signal for input. Have confirmed that the head unit is providing preamp output (connecting them to a different amp works great). Have confirmed the problem isn't the RCA cables (swapped out the cables). Power LED is blue. Protection has not kicked in even once. 8GA wire from the battery, fused within 18 inches of battery. 8GA wire for ground, connected to bare metal on the chassis less than 3 feet away. Remote wire is 16GA, works great -- subwoofer powers on with the head unit, powers off when you power the head unit off.So now it sits there glowing blue pretty and does nothing else. Was fun while it lasted. 1Factory System Upgraded: Custom install for a perfect fit in my 2011 KIA Sportage This Amp/Sub combo fit my needs perfectly to upgrade the factory system in my 2011 KIA Sportage. I was a bit concerned about the quality of lows a unit this size could deliver, but man! I am very satisfied with my decisions to go with the SSL LOPRO8. I had very limited space to work with as I am not willing to give up the cargo/trunk area for a sub enclosure; been there done that. Far gone are the days of announcing my arrival to the party from 3 blocks away. Fortunately the Sportage has a storage compartment between the spare tire compartment and the bed of the cargo space, separated with a ridged Styrofoam shelf. I hoped to utilized the factory Styrofoam form to house a shallow mount sub, and instead of using my old Crunch 1000 watt bridgeable amp connected to a sub, this all-in-one unit works GREAT! After initial installation tuning the amp/sub was necessary to find the sweet spot in acoustical balance with the factory system components. After about two hours of tuning and putting the unit to the test by pumping multiple musical genres (Metal/Rock, Reggae, R&B, Hip Hop, Classical and Country) through her, the unit went into protection mode. I'd hoped that the unit would run cool enough by itself to avoid a shut down but I also knew that the Styrofoam storage shelf is a perfect insulator and has virtually no air flow. Stage two of the install was the addition of two 3 inch 12V cooling fans, (one intake fan and one exhaust fan) connected to the remote power wire, which turns them on when the Amp is powers up, and strategically placed on the hottest side of the amp; blowing the majority of fresh, cooler air pressure on the left side of the storage box and pulled out by the exhaust fan at end of the air channel, blown out into a different chamber to avoid the re-circulation of hot air back onto the amp. No more overheating. If I had chosen to put the unit under a seat or screwed to the back of the back seats the cooling fans would not be necessary. I asked a lot from this unit by placing it in a very small, well insulated space with no air flow. After mitigating the storage temperature issue she runs much cooler and hasn't entered into protection mode since the first time. I've attached some pics to share some visuals of the finished install. I am very satisfied with my purchase. Excellent price point for this little power-house that I received quickly through two-day shipping with my prime membership. Amazon comes through once again! Given the lack of field testing to confirm product durability and longevity, I can't give the unit a fifth star. I'll be watching Sound Storm Laboratories for more money-saving, quality, car-audio components. 4Nice product. Not beating the screws off your car ... Blew out not good 1A lot of bass for a small car. Just installed so no Report on longevity. Installed in a 1991 Lotus Excel. This is probably too much bass for the small cabin but it has a volume control so it is manageable. My seat now has built in massage on demand!!! Exceptionally good sound in my application. Easy to install with my modern Pioneer head unit. Haven't run it for very long to test for overheat but it is properly vented and am hopeful I won't experience any issues. It is bigger than I imagined even knowing the dimensions and doesn't fit under my little sports car's seat. So it is located directly behind the seat. Unless it fails to work long-term I'm very happy with the initial quality... 400 RMS, 600 peak for those wondering. 5Great product for the price! I put this little guy under the back seat of my avalanche and it fits perfect. The only things that kept it from being a 5 star are 1 the mounting brackets are solid rubber and the screws go right through if tightened too much. I thing the rubber mount is a good idea but there should be a metal washer molded in for tightening. 2 is the light on the remote level control will blind you, I have to cover it to drive at night. I am impressed with the depth it ads to the stereo, I didn't want to rattle the truck or my brains apart and this is perfect. Even my son is impressed and his car rattles my bathroom mirror. Great product so far and the price seems fair enough for it.SSL LOPRO8 Amplified Subwoofer System 8-inch 600-watt 4Loveit, Loveit, Loveit! I've had the problem for years with a very expensive stereo when I crank up the base through the normal speakers sounding dampened. I finally pried the money out of my wallet for this and it made all the difference in the world. I like 70's metal, and I can listen to it the way I like without any distortion. If I had one critique, it would be to add instructions about the 8 gauge wire and the 20 amp fuse you need to install it, when you're ordering. 5
