Customer Reviews

great product, worth the money. Great product, just like any other self healing protector for a fraction of the cost. I reccomend you trim 1.5mm from one side and the top to make room for the edges of your case...it will keep the edges of the protector from bubbling up.SKINOME You should reduce the size per above, the protector is too large if you use a caseOther then that, but it, it's a great value for a great product...people that have given bad reviews simply don't k.o w how to apply it. 5Great Screen Protector For The Price Please be sure to visit the Skinomi page and watch the installation video as this will make things a whole lot easier. The wet application was easy to install and did not leave any air bubbles across the screen. I did not drink enough of the Kool Aid to want to wet install the two small pieces that are supposed to go over the speakers on the M8 and I think this is an area of design that needs to be reconsidered. If you have a back up or secondary device to power up you may want to do this for a day to allow the protector to set as this will give you optimum results. Overall this is a quality product for a great price that offers solid protection for your device and is definitely worth trying. 4the cloth included is pure garbage, and will leave little black fibers all over ... Bought this for my HTC One M8. First, the cloth included is pure garbage, and will leave little black fibers all over anything you wipe it with. Since your device needs to be powered off for application, and for sometime afterwards, you won't see one of these black hairs if it is stuck in there until you power it on hours later; by then it is too late, since these fibers can't be picked out.So I bought another and tried again, tossing out the black microfiber cloth (confirmed it still had the same issue). I figured I either messed up or had a bad apple. But even after a few months of use, I really can't recommend this product to anyone. This protector feels just like a shower curtain liner to those that are familiar; it is soft. Your phone can be clean as can be, just wiped..But take out a credit card from your pocket, press it gently against the phone screen protector, and watch it magically stick like glue. Also notice that all the numbers are slightly imprinted on the screen protector. These indentation will go away shortly over time, but it is not the best quality for a cell phone. Over this past half year, I have lost quite a few hotel room key cards due to this protector (always sticks to screen and falls off when you pull your phone out of pocket). Also on the M8, the corners of the 2 smaller protectors around each front speaker degrade over time, catching dirt. This leads them to fall off. This protector just doesn't give you the feel or faith that it will last your phone lifetime. 1Not Impressed. Not impressed. This skin did not work as it should. First of all, the product is very hard to apply and took me about 10 minutes to put on. After waiting 24+ hours, as you are instructed to do, there were still bubbles, unlike the claim that it is "Easy, error-proof, and bubble-free installation." So, I was disappointed to the point that I had to remove the product. I do not recommend the product. 2good protection, tricky application Caution: The use of liquid in the application of this screen protector requires very careful installation with the HTC one m8. With the large speaker holes on top and bottom, I ended up pushing bubbles out to the side.this worked well. I also wiped up the liquid as it came out so it wouldn't sit on the phone and find its way into the electronics.Positive: The liquid captures dust and makes for a great look when you make sure to push all the liquid bubbles out. If you don't you could end up with dust.Once installed, it is very thin and stays applied very well.Negative: for the m8, this comes in three separate pieces, I thought it would be one continuous piece. Getting all three lined up is difficult. This protector dies not feel like glass, and after a few days of use I noticed that it was feeling a bit stickier on my fingers than I wanted. I use Swype style keyboard so typing is harder, more resistance to finger sliding on the screen than glass. At an angle, this protector dies not look smooth. Conclusion: I ended up switching to a real glass protector because it feels better when swyping and looks just like glass at any angle. However, Skinomi was much easier to install without dust getting stuck, and if you're not using Swype, is a really good, maybe the most consistent protector for your money. 4Ok Screen Protector The screen protector feels good and sturdy, like it would really protect, but it is not the easiest to install. My main dislike is that it is not smooth once applied. Now just to be clear, I read all the instructions, watched the video and then applied the screen protector. I waited 24 hours before I used it too. (That was pure torture). but it still has little squiggly lines under it. They aren't extremely noticeable, so I will keep using the product. But I have had several people who thought I had left the protective liner on from shipping. -_- 3Seller is excellent I like the product and the seller is excellent. The only trouble is the installation process... I failed badly the first time I tried. Fortunately the seller replaced it so I could try again. I tried a total of 3 times and was un-successful every time. I never did figure out how to get the damn thing on in a way that I was happy with. For some reason the wet method this product uses proved difficult for me. I've installed many screen protectors over the years -- for myself, family and friends -- so I've learned to do it well. The Skinomi was tough to get on correctly. The key step was the hair dryer on low setting for several minutes. It takes patience. I stopped to let it cool down and then heated it up again several times. You have to be careful to get the liquid out from under the film without scratching it or moving it or creasing it. Then when it looks right you have to leave it alone. Don't touch it for many hours... overnight is best. Skinomi says it'll take several days to fully cure and look perfect, so remember that. And don't put a case on it until you're absolutely sure all the water droplets are pushed out and dried. Also, if you are using a case you might have to trim the film slightly before installation since it comes out all the way to the edges... so a case might push up the edges of the film, causing all sorts of unsightly problems. 2Good for the price Pros: Inexpensive. Easier than some to apply. Offers protection for the speakers on top and bottom. Will provide from small scratches and MAYBE from a small fall but not much more (don't really feel like testing this theory on an almost $700 phone)Cons: Kind of messy to apply due to the solution you have to apply to all pieces of the screen protector and your hands. Might not protect against some of the harder falls. For the price its hard to beat it. I used to nothing but Zagg brand screen protectors on my phones. I've had three HTC phones (counting this one) and the last two have had Zagg. That being said they can sometimes be a pain to apply correctly. Not so with this one. It was very east to apply with basically the same technique you would use on a lot of the other screen protectors out there. Its one of the only screen protectors on the market that I've been able to find that also offers protection for the speakers on the M8. Pretty good protection from light scratches. I wouldn't trust if you to drop the phone at all. Its good if you baby your phone and are nice to it but if you put it in a purse or your pocket with keys or something along those lines I could see it wearing out quicker than others. Bottom line is its good for the price and its not the best one out there but its not the worst one either. 4Happy with screen, left off speaker pieces. It was easy enough to put on the piece that covers the screen and it seems to be very good protection. I liked it better than dry apply protectors I've used on other phones as the bubble came out easier. I applied before bed and had no trouble using the phone again in the morning. The two pieces that are meant to surround the speaker were more difficult. The flexibility that makes it good protection for the screen makes the very narrow pieces difficult to work with and it's difficult to wet apply them without getting fluid in the speakers. I'm glad they were separate. That allowed me to leave them off. Some may want the speaker pieces so I won't take off a star for adding something I chose not to use. 5My Year With Skinomi. I've had this screen protector on my M8 for over a year now. So I can give a unique point of view.Installation :Troublesome. It took me at least an hour to get the protector in place. It kept sliding all over the place and it didn't come with a squeegee. I had to use a credit card and be ocd clean about the environment. There were bubbles for days that worked themselves out. I was worried about getting water into my speakers so I didn't use the smaller pieces. I got it on almost perfectly. There was a small gap near the top. Like 1 mm gap.Performance.Its self healing. You can dent it with your fingernail and it goes away in a bit. However, its thick like a shower curtain liner. (as a previous review said) Its bad if you use Swype because your finger can get stuck. Also makes the screen a bit dull and affects screen responsiveness. Ive had to calibrate the screen responsiveness a few times this past year which Ive never had to do before. Really hard to use with longer nails or nail extensions.LongevityNow the screen protector is coming up near the top.. Dust and crud has gotten to those parts and today I found a bubble. . This happens to all my screen protectors eventually. I thought it would last at least two years. Ive had wallet cases on the phone the whole time. Maybe that's why it lasted so long... 3
