    Sub-Standard Finish on Brackets Timely shipped. Right size. Right quantity. Decent glass thickness and good edge finish. Easy to follow instructions. However, the "brushed nickel" brackets look as though they were finished with course grit sandpaper and had several obvious scratches on several of the brackets. In short, the brackets could be finished better. Otherwise, would have given a better score. 3Extra Bathroom Storage Overall this is a great little shelf. It s 24 so it matched the exact width of my small bathroom vanity. The mounting brackets aren t the most amazing in terms of quality, but once it s installed, you don t really notice the brackets. It s very intuitive how to install it (in my opinion) and the brackets can be mounted in any location on the shelf, though I chose far to the outer edges. It works perfectly for extra storage above my sink! 5the anchors that came with it were absolute crap and we had to go out and purchase new ... This shelf was a bit of a pain to install, the anchors that came with it were absolute crap and we had to go out and purchase new ones. For the record, we were installing it in a bathroom, in regular ol' drywall, not in any studs or anything odd. We have installed other shelves in the bathroom without any issues, there was just something really junky about the anchors in this.Once we got it installed, though, it's a beautiful shelf and it holds all of my makeup organizers perfectly. It's just the right depth and width and looks very sleek. I would give it 5 starts on all fronts, except for the fact that we had to spend additional money to buy better wall anchors. 4I own 10 of these!!! I bought my first one like 2 or 3 years ago, actually it was like two of them.Then I ordered another couple more.These seem to jump in price with demand, then are unavailable for awhile, then return to under $20.That's when I buy a few, but totally worth it at any price. I totally LOVE them.I own 10 of these things.I've gotten used to putting them up, so I'm used to any problems.I also only put about 10 pounds on them (This is not a bookshelf, although the glass seems to be tempered right for a good deal of weight), but if you go into studs and use ALL the parts, I don't see why they shouldn't hold more?I will keep buying these, I LOVE them. 5low quality, but LOOK great! Great design, but the workmanship is pretty marginal. The "brushed" quality of the finish looks really rushed & isn't very even. Mounting insert keeps the whole bracket from lying flush and is even worse if you use a plastic anchor, which pushes it out further from the wall. As a result, the entire bracket rocks up & down a tiny bit, even when tightened all the way. You can shim it with another screw head at the bottom or countersink the anchor point, but otherwise there will be a gap to the wall. Not sure if there is a clear lacquer coating, but I'd avoid installing it in a wet location, as it may start to rust at least on the inside.Glass is just fine. 2Broke in 2 weeks - resulted in one of my favorite self-built glass blowing pieces smashing to bits. Heard a loud crash in the house. Both wife and I hurried to see what had happened. Opened the bathroom to find this. Our two vases and our self-built glass blown orb showpiece came crashing down, the lid of the toilet tank in in two pieces and...well the pictures do a good job of explaining rest of the damage.Turns out the culprit was a worn out hole that the screw fits into. The only things on the shelf were two vases less than 4lbs each and one small small glass blown orb which was probably no more than 3lbs. So weight shouldn't have been an issue.Took my wife and I the next two hours to clean everything around us and making sure there were no glass splinters on the floor. We can buy the vases again but the glass blown orb is irreplaceable. Will be returning the broken shelf and getting something more sturdy. 1What information you need I like the product, the way it looks and holds . . . But, warning! You need a Philips head screwdriver and a drill with 3/8 or larger bit as well as a pencil or felt tip for marking. Do you know where Your Studs are? Have a stud finder and know how to use it. Leveling . . . Not only is a level useful, but a third hand as well. Remember to mark the hole and put a piece of tape on the spot to prevent the paint or plaster chipping (old house). Drill deep, those screws have to be flush so the bracket slides on. Don t drop the square nut on the back when marking hole placement. You will never find it again. Put on brackets, open vertical adjustment screw, stand back and admire. 5They're sturdy, easy to install, and they look great! I don't like messing with drywall anchors, so I did my best to use the studs in my wall, which happen to be a favorable 17" apart. I have limited wall space, so I decided to offset them, and I really like the way they ended up.Even though I eyeballed it and didn't put the brackets in *perfectly* vertical, the plastic is forgiving and grips the glass firmly when I tightened the bottom bolts in. I can't speak for the drywall anchors, but screwing them directly into studs makes me feel like they will hold up just fine.By the way, the exact length of these shelves is 23.5", and once installed, including the brackets, they stick out exactly 6" from the wall. 5Sleek and Simple I was looking for small shelves to put near my office window that wouldn't block much of the light - these are perfect. Fairly simple to install; I spaced the brackets 16 inches apart and measured 7 inches between shelves. The frame on the top shelf is a 5"x7" for reference. I used heavy duty drywall anchors instead of the plastic anchors included. 5The glass is nice quality, but the brackets are worthless The glass is nice quality, but the brackets are worthless. Even upgrading the screw anchors, the brackets are too flimsy (or poor design?) to hold this shelf level. Even snug against the wall, it sags a bit with just the shelf weight. This is a bracket design issue. We had to rig up extra support blocks to use these. Next time, would just get the glass and buy better quality brackets to hold it up.
