Customer Reviews

We love it!I purchased this for the bedroom hallway and placed it so it faces the top of our stairs. We like the sliver of light that stays on all of the time (when it's dark) and then the brighter motion light which turns on right about when we get to the top of our stairs. This has been good for middle of the night back and forth trips to our infant's room when I'm half asleep!5Among the best, if not the best, nightlight available!I ve tried a number of motion sensing nightlights and this one is my favorite. The Sensky motion sensor light is great for the following reasons: 1) It only comes on when the ambient light around it is very low. 2) When the Sensky is in very low to no ambient light, there is a dim led on the front (room facing side) that comes on. This led provides just enough light to allow you to see when approaching the device in complete darkness. 3) Once you are near the light, the motion sensor activates very bright leds on the wall facing side of the fixture which provides plenty of indirect light to see your way around. We use it in our master bathroom and it negates the need to turn on the super bright main light fixture. 4) The motion sensor is quite sensitive and works from a wide range of approach angles. 5) It is quite stylish for a nightlight. The only possible negative aspect of this nightlight is that when it is plugged right side up in the lower socket of a standard outlet, there is little to no room to use the upper socket for anything else. If this nightlight is the only device you will be plugging into an outlet, then this is not an issue. As a nightlight, this Sensky device is the best one available. My second favorite is the Maxxima 55W because it is very bright (maybe 20% brighter than the Sensky) and only comes in in the dark. But it has no dim approach light and the motion sensor, while very sensitive, only seems to work well when approaching from straight on (90 degrees to the wall).5let there be lightThese are GREAT, nice glow when not motion triggered but enough light when they are triggered that you can see but no so bright that it blinds you. I have these in the hallway and entrance way so that we don't need to flip on lights all the time.I've tried a few of these and these are by far the BEST.5Part is always on, part is motion activated. The thin middle part of this light is constantly on at dusk and off at dawn, and the backlight that shines against the wall comes on with motion. I had to move this to a different bathroom so the "always on" light wasn't in my eyes all night. It works great in a hallway or somewhere that a dim light could always be on, but if your master bath shines into your bedroom it might be annoying. The color of the light has a blue hue, I'd prefer a warm yellow in the middle of the night instead of the blue, but that's personal preference.3Very happy with purchaseWe have it in our bathroom because the regular lights are too bright. I was skeptical because this was my first time buying a motion sensor light. But this light has been exceptionally helpful for us to navigate a new house/bathroom. We leave the door open so our son can walk to the bathroom at night if he needs to. The low level light is so dim that it doesnot interfere with your sleep. Also, when someone goes to the bathroom, it automatically brightens up enough to light up the bathroom without having to switch on the main light which might be difficult for a sleepy child. Very happy with purchase. Will buy again.5Turned on in the middle of the night and scared the heck out of me I bought two:The one in he living room turned on in the middle of the night as if it detected motion. Scared the heck out of me that someone was in there. I got up to find nothing. Got back in bed and it happened again. I unplugged it but never fell back to sleep. Crappy, unreliable! The one in bathroom works as advertised however the front light strip was too bright so I taped a thin strip of black duck tape to over it. Thank God it also doesn't turn on for no reason! 1Not Bad - Needs WorkI didn't quite get what this product is trying to do. I was hoping for a nightlight that would produce a low beam at night and then when it detected motion more light. What happens instead is the light is basically on or off. There is a mode where the back part of the light is on and the front strip is not. But the real life difference is negligible in terms of light emission.Bottom line, if you just want a night low energy and fairly bright night light that is on all the time. This works great. If you're hoping for some kind of intelligent light that brightens when it detects people, not going to happen.3If you don't succeed, try again!!!I originally purchased this product Sensky Plug in Motion Night Light Skl001 Motion Activated LED Lights for Bedroom, Staircase, Hallway on March 20th and it did not work at all. I returned it and posted a very negative review. The Sensky Customer Service Team reached out to me and offered to send me one as a courtesy for my trouble. I have since received it and I must say that I have had a 180 degree change in my opinion of this item. It works perfectly and I particularly like that the small front light stays on at night and the brighter back light is only activated by motion. I ordered a different light marketed by General Electric, a name brand that I was familiar with and thought I could depend on. GE Ultra Brite Motion-Activated LED Light, 40 Lumens, Soft White, Night Light, Energy Efficient, Ideal for Hallway, Entry, Stairs, Bathroom, Kitchen, Garage, Utility Room, Silver, 29844. The GE light is horrible as it comes on all day and will turn off and on repeatedly even without anybody in the room. I highly recommend the Sensky Night Light and assure you that you will NOT be dissappointed! Their product and customer service are both OUTSTANDING!!!5Great LED Night Light!! Great light...love thats it's LED and it has actual two lights...one in front and one in back. The front light is ON when room is dim or dark, Brighter back light comes ON when you walk into the sensing range. It also has an "ON" switch where both lights are on and works as a normal night light. Finally it has an "AUTO"- Sensor which identifies day and night, both lights off during daytime. 5Dusk to Dawn and Motion Activated - Great for Nighttime Trips to the WCI really like this. I bough it for our bedroom at our lake cabin. It is so pitch dark out here at night that I have had to add several nightlights. However, this one was too bright for the bedroom - getting up at night for the bathroom it was bright enough to wake the other sleeping person (my husband) and he complained about it. I did move it to the Master Bath and he loves it there - so do I. It is motion activated and stays on about long enough for nocturnal bathroom trips. It is also a dusk to dawn light - so it is always on in low light mode after the sun goes down.4Too bulky takes up entire outlet space.Bought this for my hallway. The design is so overly bulky that it cuts into the space for the second plug on an outlet making it impossible to use both outlets at the same time. There is no need for it to be this bulky off of both sides of the prongs. Pretty much useless to me since my alarm system is plugged into the other half of the outlet. Works great other than that but a waste of time for me and a waste of time for anybody who actually wants to use both outlets.2Great nightlight with a minor design flaw. I have this night light placed by the stairs on an upper floor. It gently lights the approach to the stairs until I get near. Then it brightens to enable me to clearly see the stairs. As a senior, I appreciate the motion detector to brighten the light when I get near. It also has a photocell to turn off when the area is in other light, such as daytime. When no one has approached, the light is sufficiently low that it doesn't ingress substantially into my bedroom.Only con is the position of the plug. To use the receptacle to which it's attached (such as for a vacuum cleaner), I need to remove the nightlight. PITA. I like the light enough that I continue to use it, and would buy it again, knowing this minor inconvenience. 5PERFECT!I ordered one, loved it, ordered three more. They're perfect. Low glow through the night - not bright enough to disturb sleep (it gives a color-of-moonlight peaceful glow); and brightens up as soon as you walk close enough (into a room) but again not too bright to seem unnatural or disturbing, just enough to allow you to see your way around floors and counters. We love these things. If we had outlets along our staircases we'd plug them in there, too. They're great.5
