Customer Reviews

Easy Install - Looks Great - Works Smoothly We're loving these handles. They look great and have a smooth function. Easy install and simple to reverse the handles using the pin-pusher that was included in the package. To do that, install completely first, then swap the handles. This works for both the regular handles, as well as the "privacy" handles. 5Seems quality No durability data yet, but it definitely seems sturdier (heavier, less rattly) than the Kwikset one it replaced. We installed this on unsheltered exterior door, so I made sure to avoid the shiny brass version. Generally these non-locking residential doorknobs are designed for indoor closet/passage use. Another reviewer claimed to have spoken with someone at Schlage and been told that *except for shiny brass*, the finish on these is the same as their built-for-outdoors products. 4Look great, work great As my wife and I get older, we sometimes have trouble twisting round door knobs. I bought these to replace the round door knobs. These levers are very easy to use, are very well made, and take only a couple of minutes to replace the old knobs. 5Beautiful very well made, easy to install and not upside down :) Did my whole house with these after a remodel and we love them. Easily reversible for left/right swing doors. For those confused in a few reviews that believe the handles are upside down - there is a pin included in the box of hardware. That pin is used as both a key to pop the lock on bed/bath models and to reverse or flip your handles. Locate the small hole which is exposed on the inside of the handle and insert the pin until your feel the spring clip release the handle. Pop it off and swap. 5Works great as entry door handle with the push button deadbolt I put this handle and the push button deadbolt on our front entry door and could not be happier. I wasn't sure about installing a handle with no lock, but the door I replaced had no deadbolt and just a lock in the handle, so I figure the deadbolt was better. If you're on the fence about whether this can work as an entry door handle - buy it, you won't be disappointed. 5Just what I needed I have trouble at times with my hands and fingers from arthritis. So, turning knobs is dreadfully painful. My dear husband researched levers and chose these. They are perfect. I do not have to grasp or twist them, just push down with the flat of my palm to open and pull to for closing. What a relief! He took me into a local hardware store to try out various levers by other companies. What we realized is that the broad flat end of the handle is what makes the difference. Some of the similar levers were too thin and thus required more movement than I could give.In one half of an afternoon, he replaced all the multitude of knobs in this large house. They were easy to install and look great. As a bonus, they turned out to be much quieter to open and close than a regular knob. I do no wake up when he comes into the room nor does he when I do. If you have young children or babies, this is a great feature to consider... quiet latching. 5Five Stars Simple and easy to install. The product feels sturdy.Update:Installed this handle over a year and a half ago, have purchased 3 more since, and will be getting several more for a few other buildings. The installation is wicked easy (as with most handles).I was impressed with the quality of the screws; most handles I've purchased come with cheap screws that easily mold and begin to strip even with the lightest touch of a screwdriver. Not so, with this handle! I've removed the screws a few times as we've changed doors, and they look really good still. It goes on study and stays that way. I've been very, very please with them. 5exposed mounting screws; only sort of reversible This is "reversible" but only in the sense that you *can* install it any orientation, but the angle of the door handle changes -- the curved part that is comfortable to the palm facing up will face down with some installations. This is due to the fact that the mounting screws are exposed. Contrast this to the handle I replaced hides the screws under the escutcheon on the inside of the door hidden by a tiny allen wrench screw. Many door handles have "directions" -- right and left handed interior and exterior -- for this purpose. Even though I can install this with the mounting screws inside my house, it doesn't look good with the screw heads showing (ignore that my door needs a coat of paint). 4Great purchase! Very smooth moving door handle. Recently a home modification included diff door handles.. I liked those. Then I decided to put one of these on my door, which still had original knobs. Wow .. can feel the quality each time used. Will be upgrading the other handles asap. There is no choice to buy right or left sided. But to swap if needed is easy. A tool comes with this handle to stick into pinhole on each handle & release those so can switch them. Doing this worked best for me after the handle was installed in my door.I did not see any need to replace the strike plate on the door jamb. Consider using old screws if you replace this for reason given below. When I replaced the door latch I used the old screws. Sometimes new screws do not have the exact same groove & by using the old screws it kept the integrity strong there for a snug fit. 5So easy to install! And look great! These Schlage lever handles were so easy to install and look much fresher than the 30 year old brass knobs they replaced. I am a not-very-handy 55-year-old woman with zero fix-it skills, but after the first couple tries, I was able to remove the old doorknob and strike plate and install one of these in under 10 minutes. It is so simple, and all the parts fit together so nicely. The only trick was switching the levers to ensure that the handle faced in the proper direction -- but once I saw how to do that by watching an installation video on youtube, it was all smooth sailing. The levers are easier to use than knobs and they look clean and contemporary. If you're thinking about replacing doorknobs, you won't go wrong with these Schlage levers. I was really amazed at how easy they were to install. Even though I had a handy man lined up to help, I ended up doing most of them myself, as it was kind of fun. If you're replacing doorknobs, don't forget hinges as well. Each set comes with levers for both sides of the doors, screws, and a matching strike plate. If you install these and find the door doesn't close quite right, it may require a tiny adjustment in the positioning of the strike plate. There are a zillion youtube videos on how to fix a door that won't close -- and the fixes are pretty simple. 5
