Customer Reviews

Great idea with a few annoyances. I ordered 2 of these, one for home and one for work. The new client based systems we have at work aren't always friendly toward my phone when plugged in. Now if I use a file on my phone or the server and want to share it with the other I just have to plug this into which ever has the new or altered file, move the file to the pen, and then plug into the other device and copy or move the file. Takes literally seconds and makes the swapping of files effortless. The reason I gave these a 4 rating instead of a 5 was because when I plug the unit into a USB port the USB part of the drive wants to slide back into it's case. The little release tab is too small to really get enough of a grip to keep the USB plug from sliding back in. And if you try to plug the unit into a USB that has another USB port next to it that's being used by another device (Keyboard, mouse, etc) you have to either unplug or switch ports with that device in order to allow room for the little release tab or the bracket for a lanyard. And as much as I thought the small size to be an advantage I found it's small size makes it very easy to displace (it's about the size of 3 quarters stacked). I haven't lost one yet, but it's been difficult at times. 4works great and connects easily to my phone works great and connects easily to my phone. i wish the place to connect it to a keychain was engineered differently. It seems weak and is too small for most keychains to fit through. 4Falls apart when I remove from computer I just purchased this, and the first time I used this, the drive literally fell apart in my hands when I removed it from the computer. The metal clip falls off, and the plastic separates into 3 separate pieces. I can piece it back together, but does not bode well for longevity. If you carefully hold the metal clip on, you can remove it without it falling apart, but again, I do not see this lasting long at all. Buy something else. 1Solid Stick This little drive is great, it's it's visually appealing and just generally feels well constructed. The engraved hexagon pattern adds a nice finish that keeps it from feeling very cheap. Not really sure what the other reviewers are talking about when it comes to flimsiness; the whole thing is pretty sturdy with very little play. I expected the connector that slides left and right to wiggle a bit but they're really firm in their placement and, at least on my unit, they don't move at all.The little 'handle' that you use to slide the connectors out from one end or another locks into place nicely and must be pressed in before it will retract, so jamming it into a tight (or backwards) USB port doesn't cause the connector to withdraw back into the housing. Although there isn't much of a lock point when it's centered, so you can just flick the nub to one side or the other pretty easily to deploy the connector. One thing that surprised me was that the micro USB connector has two lengths at which it clicks into place. The first click extends the connector about 0.5 cm out and the second all the way out to about 0.8 cm. This is pretty nice for those phones that recessed micro USB ports or if you just wanna make sure the thing gets jammed in there all the way.I've also been pretty pleased with the read/write speeds on it and have included a report from HDTune that illustrates what speeds you're likely to get if that's something you're really concerned about. 5Awesome little device! This little usb drive is the best gadget I've purchased in a while. It's double ended. One side is a usb to fit in computers and the other side is a micro usb that fits in your phone and tablet charging port and you can play movies, pictures, play music or anything else from this portable little device. Storage size is amazing for the size! Not for Apple though. Devices have to have a micro usb charging port to work. I have a samsung phone and tablet and it works. 5Good quality drive, but can be difficult to insert. Love the capacity here! I have a head unit in the car with dual USB ports. Port #2 is for Android Auto hookup, and the first port can be used for a USB drive to store music. This is in addition to the SD card reader behind the panel. With 256GB, I can store a lot of high-res music (many at 24-bit, 88.2kHz or 96kHz) and not worry about running out of space. Combined with the 128GB SD card, I have some decent capacity in the car.Like other USB 3.0 drives from SanDisk, this one runs hot. The first two Sandisk Cruzer Fit USB 3.0 drives I bought ran alarmingly hot but several months later, it apparently does not affect their performance or durability, since they are still working great! If they had made the Cruzer Fit in an affordable 256GB size, I would have bought one of those instead. But for now, for the price, this product is small enough to stay out of the way and works just as well. The neat thing about this is that you can plug it into a standard USB port, or toggle the micro USB connector out of the opposite end to connect it directly to a phone. That, however, is a light drawback, as it makes inserting this drive into a standard USB port difficult at times. There is a small tab that sticks out from the site--you push this in to toggle which end you want the connector to stick out of, or to hide both connectors. The problem here is that when you go to insert this into a USB jack that has limited space, you have no choice but to grip it by the sides, and then the connector is slipping back inside the case. For most users this may not matter, but based on where I have my USB jack located, this is the most difficult of the thumb drives I've used to put in place. This doesn't hurt the function, however--it still operates as it should. 4Wonderful product This is an excellent choice. It's small but not awkward to use with the benefit of having a High-speed USB 3.0 plug on one end and a micro-USB plug on the other end. This makes transferring data from a cell phone to a PC painless and fast, making backups a breeze. Just slide the metal band over, push out the end you need slide the band back to hold the end you need in place, plug it in, transfer the files to it, slide the metal band back over, retract the USB end back into the body and slide the metal band in place keeping both USB ends inside and protected, no caps to lose. 5Contains required Sandisk app to use it with phone I just got it & plugged it into my phone. Works fine, but it has an app on it called Memory Zone that is required in order to use it. Memory Zone was mentioned in the details, but I did not understand that it was an app so that's my bad. I thought this was basically an external drive with which I could simply move files from my phone to my PC, etc. the old fashioned way by clicking the file & moving it. The app wants permissions I am not prepared to provide. I do not see the point in the app for a usb storage drive. The EULA stated the app could prevent my phone from "sleeping" which will increase use of my battery. What happened to just getting a basic external drive using point & click to move files? Can anyone recommend a device like that for me? I am going to use this for a bit & if I change my mind, I will update this review. I'm sure it works great, but I was not expecting another app, just an external storage drive. If I don't like it, I will try to sell it to a friend & possibly take a 10 bucks or so loss. All I wanted was external storage. The app is NOT needed for this to function as that. Plugging it into my PC now to see how it runs on that. HEY, point & click to move files, no need for the apk on my PC. Ergo, don't need the app on my phone, either. 2This SanDisk 32GB OTG Flash Drive fits on my keychain and it works wonderfully! Detailed review with pictures... This flash drive is just exactly what I was looking for as I needed to find a high quality OTG and Micro USB Flash drive that works well and fits onto my keychain for travel. This SanDisk 32GB is high quality like other SanDisk Flash drives I have owned before and better.PROS:1) I added a THIN and SMALL ORING (Keyring) and to that I added a small hook (I bought it at a local store). Then I was able to place this onto my Keychain. (See below pictures). I easily slid my thin ORing Keyring onto the the SanDisk Flash drive and it did not interfear with the sliding of the unit at all and it looks great on my keychain without taking up much room. Be sure to take a look at my several pictures to see what I mean.2) It is very small and it is just what I needed as it takes up little space.3) There are no CAPS to lose. I am always losing caps and I like that SanDisk places a slider that slides from the center in which to let out either the Micro USB plug or the Standard USB plug.***Be sure that when you push the center lever that you hear a CLICK sound, this fully extends the plug out (either the Full USB one or the Micro one).***Be sure that you push this firmly to fully unlock the whole USB plug. This is why SanDisk placed the CLICK sound so it will LOCK OUT to the outside and not slide back in.4) The speed is good both transferring data to or from my phone or tablet to my PC. Just about the same as regular USB SanDisk Flash Drive.5) The most important thing is that when I fully extend the Micro plug and plug it into my Samsung J7 that has a cover on it, I do not have to remove the cover like I do on other USB Flash drives.6) This I tested very well on 4 devices: 2 Tablets, my J7 Phone and on a friends phone. It worked perfectly in every device that I tested. In seconds the devices recognized it and read the files, copied the files etc.7) The standard USB Plug easily fit into my picky desktop computer USB port and also into my laptop port with ease! It is plug and play and both computers read it in no time.8) There is some files on the flash drive as you will see in the picture that I took. SanDisk has a handy PDF File on it with helpful info about backing up. So helpful.I am so happy with this, I plan on ordering more. This is just a wonderful and useful flash drive that I can travel with and keep on my keychain.Highly recommended! 5Arguably nothing like flimsy... and quite fast Not only is this drive not even close to being flimsy... but has locking detents on either connector side, that thru tactile feel let you know when said connector is extended and locked.Bought this to transfer back a bunch of song files from a backup (corrupted and erased by a well-known media app's update), as well as put GBs of crap on it for a family reunion overseas. Very fast file transfer, much faster than an old 64GB Corsair Voyager Go (which corrupted just as I was attempting to do same, hence this purchase). For Mac users... formatting this drive in ExFAT, will allow it to transfer files between OSX and Android (in my case, Marshmallow). Have fun, and don't worry about it being flimsy. 5
