Perfect"." ;D Everything I was looking for in a laptop case & at a more affordable price than in stores, which didn't have a 17.3" model that was as good as this one! Pockets for computer & other accessories, ample space for legal files in a divided pocket, other small zipper pockets, & mountable on your luggage handle. Very satisfied with this purchase that I will (try to) share photos in a minute...1 flaw though! ...It isn't leather. :D ...but that's not what I paid for. A durable leather version would be AWESOME"." Of which I wouldn't mind shelling out double the price, or more...[Additional Edit] After moving some stuff (mouse, mouse-pad, & HDMI cable) from my old Targus 15.6 laptop case into this new one, I MUST ADD that the quality of this case is BY FAR superior. It feels real durable & rugged, but at the same time it is VERY lean, neat, & classy (professional looking). I'd also like to add that my Galaxy S2 phone in its' own HUGE case [I.e. Premium Heavy Duty Hybrid Case Cover (Outer Silicone Rubber Skin + Inner Durable Hard Shell W/Kickstand); also available on Amazon] fits right into the cell phone holder in the 2nd pocket (which itself has an inner additional zipper pocket).Fully loaded, the case is comfortable when worn with the shoulder strap; whether worn simply over a shoulder or over the head to the opposite shoulder. I foresee no problems cycling with this case worn as such on my way to the public & law libraries, nor walking to & from public transportation. If you're concerned about your laptop fitting into this case, my HP dv7-7250us fits just fine. 5Just what I was hoping for :) This bag has great ratings for a reason, and there's probably not much I can say that hasn't already been said.I have a 17.3" (diagonal) laptop and it fits quite comfortably. I only use this bag occasionally, but given that it's made for traveling, I'd say it's perfect for 'on the go' business/academic people (or whoever) whether you travel or not. It has lots of zippers, pockets and compartments too, that's always a bonus. The exact measurements of my laptop are as follows: 15.34 x 10.94 inches.I definitely recommend this bag. :) 5Love it, and it fits my giant laptop! High-quality fabric and handle connections, doesn't look like they'll break down for a long time. All of the strap clips and zipper pulls are metallic, and it has four external pockets - two zippered ones on the front, and a zippered one plus a velcro-held slot behind it on the back. It's wide enough that it fits my giant 17" Asus laptop easily, without me having to finagle it into the bag (my laptop is a little over 16" wide, and 10-3/4" long). The laptop pocket has a stretchy velcro strap to hold it more snugly in place, as well as three pockets that can easily fit a gigantic AC adapter and a mouse. The other side has a divider, and is perfect for holding papers; it zips down halfway on each side you you can open it wide to access things. I've even fit two hard-bound lab notebooks and a 1-in binder inside that pocket, all at the same time. It holds quite a lot. 5Durable and comfortable There are quite a bit of pockets and areas to place papers, chargers, etc. It is pretty large, but it definitely does the job. I don't use it nearly as often as I would like, but I don't tote my laptop around nearly as much as I did when I purchased this. It is high quality and durable. It has weathered my rough usage for quite some time like a champ! I was afraid of it being uncomfortable as I hauled it around, but it isn't that bad. The strap has a pad on it for a more cushioned hold on your shoulder. It doesn't work as well when there is a lot of stuff inside the bag because the strap can kind of fold in on itself and put more strain on the middle of the cushion so that it slightly cuts into the shoulder. Regardless, for my purposes, I've had nothing but good experiences. I just make sure to not carry as much inside the bag. 4Supurb Quality! This was an upgrade from my Case Logic 17" laptop bag. I'd had it for years and years, still looks like new, but my job requires me to carry more stuff than it can handle... plus, it wasn't particularly comfortable to lug around everywhere (lack of padding). So, I grabbed this one and I couldn't be more pleased. Quality construction. Excellent travel bag. The padded strap is wonderful for my shoulders. And this toploader has almost double the space my Case Logic one had, which was the most important thing. In addition to the comfort and size, it's a toploader, which makes things INFINITELY easier at airport checkpoints. My Case Logic had to be completely unzipped, and the velcro retaining strap undone to get the laptop out. Bottom line: Samsonite made a quality laptop case that I would highly recommend to anyone who travels. 5Found the One That Fits! If you go to the Samsonite company sites, you will find that there are six or seven of these bags with almost the same configuration and not always the clearest measurements. I needed a bag for a 17.3-inch laptop and wanted an extra slot or two for iPad and other gadgets. This bags fits my HP 17.3 perfectly (although there may be one of the similar bags which is slightly larger if you want more room still.) The Samsonite construction and materials is good and there's plenty of room for other stuff. I'm happy. 5can't go wrong with a samsonite I was looking for a laptop bag that looked like a handbag. As it turns out, if you have a 17" laptop your options are minimal and very pricey. So then I started looking for a laptop bag that could carry all my "stuff" as well as my laptop so I wouldn't need a purse. I trust the brand so I went looking and found this. My overall impression is "functional," which for my purpose is good enough. Nice looking but not elegant, nice padded compartment that fits my hp envy. Room for the auxiliary stuff like cables and mouse without showing the bulk. doesn't show dirt easily, can be wiped clean and fits my 10" tab 4, wallet, phone, files, notebook, pencil case, with ease. When fully packed it can be a little weighty, even for me and I am 164lbs. Only had it for a month ... will update as I use. 5Good stuff, at least for the first year... I purchased this Samsonite computer bag a year ago because it was one of the few options that could accommodate my large 17" laptop (HP Pavilion g7). Over the past year, I have used it hard, and it has served me well. The laptop fits snugly, but it does fit. And I have appreciated the multiple pouches and slots where I can keep my compact Bible, daily planner, checkbook, pens, power cord, and even a book or two. I have occasionally packed the bag with multiple books and papers, surely beyond its intended load capacity, but the strap and metal buckles haven't yielded yet. On those occasions when I've wanted to carry a larger load, I wish the bag could accommodate the extra contents without bulging so much, but that's a minor complaint. And the one leather hand-hold on the handle is starting to come apart, so I'm interested to see if those completely disintegrate over time. If so, that would be frustrating. But, ultimately, this bag has served me well this year, despite my best effort to beat it into submission, and I hope to get a few more years out of it... 4Great bag but poor quality metal Excellent for 2 years but then the zipper broke and the metal wore out significantly on the loops and hooks. Zipper fix was covered by warranty, but was told the worn out metal was "regular wear and tear" and I would have to pay for it if I wanted it replaced. Cost was more than 50% of the cost of the full bag so I didn't replace it. About 2 months later one of the hooks wore out where it's attached to the strap rendering the strap totally useless. For a brand name like Samsonite I expect better. 3A Great Computer Brief Case! I searched for a new, larger laptop computer case when I got my 17" HP Envy notebook computer. I read about the bags, looked at pictures, went to stores to look at them, and read reviews. I found a consumer guide that rated this product #1, a Case Logic model #2, and the Three Gusset 17 Samsonite Classic #3. I already liked this Samsonite Classic Two Gusset 17" as my first choice. The features of #1 and #2 were about the same. #3 is wider, and has an extra compartment for files, clothes, etc. I chose the Samsonite Classic 17 Two Gusset, and have used it, and I love it. The Samsonite build-quality is outstanding. It looks good, and works good. The middle compartment is where the computer goes. It is retained in a padded envelope with a Velcro retaining strap. In that compartment, there are three pockets for peripherals drives, CD-DVD's, directional recording devices, or other items. I used those three pockets for cords, adapters, mouse, and my Pocketalker hearing device. The pockets are big enough to neatly place more than one item in each pocket. These pockets are separated from the computer by the computer padding. The back compartment is for document files, magazines, paper tablets, etc. The back pocket has two dividers, and a couple inches of room. I put in files, tablets, and my iPad in the back compartment. The front zipper compartment has pockets inside for cell phone or calculator, pens, business or credit cards, and room for miscellaneous items...flash drives, miscellaneous office supplies like clips and post-its, high-lighters, breath mints. The smaller front sipper compartment is great for important papers like hotel reservations, plane tickets, car rental docs, and directions to event centers. Mine is not used, and I know how I like to fill and organize it. I like the fact that the case is firm and holds it's shape, and the fabric appears to be indestructible. The should strap works perfectly, and the handles are comfortable. If you need more room inside, as in clothes or many big files, I'd select the Samsonite Classic Three Gusset, but this one is perfect for me. Amazon price was about 1/3 of MSRP. A great buy. 5
