The hub works fine. The usb cable included is beyond bad The hub works fine. The usb cable included is beyond bad. The led on the hub is like a disco ball or a strobe light from the slightest touch, and the port disconnect and reconnect constantly when using the cable provided. After I used my own cords, the hub was not flipping out. Wish there is a better way to contact support than giving bad reviews and hope they respond.--Update: Their customer service is great! They just need to verify I bought it to send a replacement. Unfortunately replacement unit's cable is still bad or it was made in a way that is not too compatible with my rear usb port, Elite Book 2560p. If I use my own cord, it works great. 5Telescope USB hub I use this to connect my PC Surface Pro 3 to my telescope. The 10-FT, USB 3.0 cable (Cable Matters SuperSpeed USB 3.0 Type A to Micro-B Cable in Black 10 Feet - 8 US Bucks) connects to my hub to power my: QHY polar alignment camera, my Olympus EM-1 MK ii camera, and my Celestron CGX mount. Soon it will also connect my guide camera as well. It works so well I am buying a second one for a backup (but also for my second scope). I only use this outdoors. My only thing is the bright light which I mask with electrical tape. 5No or Loose Connections: Trouble, Trouble After using this product I found that the prong on the cord that is inserted to the base is an unusual design and the metal can bend causing a loose connection . This product the Sabrent 4 port multi-port USB HB MC3B is troublesome. The loose connection causes poor connectivity, at times you will be unable to access files from any device, USB flash drive or otherwise, even though you think you are fully plugged in. Bill R. 1Great quality, reasonable price. Got the package and was very surprised by the very nice packaging they used. It felt like a premium product right away. Opening it up, the device is in fact metal and feels very nice. Cable is long enough if it is right by your laptop, if you are using it for a desktop and it is on the floor you will need a USB extension. The device has a LED right below the logo that shows that it is powered on, which is nice so there is no guessing to be done.One thing I would advise is to consider what you are using it for. This particular model feels like it would be great for thumb drives (though any USB device will connect). The reason I say this is because when plugging in a cable into it, the bend of the cable ends up moving the little device around and doesn't look very neat. This is not a negative, it is just personal preference. Otherwise, this company makes some great products for a very reasonable price. Will be doing business with again. 5Excellent quality, excellent value There isn't much to say about a USB hub; either it works, or it doesn't. This one works. The construction, however, is well beyond what I would have expected for an item in this price range. It's quite solid, and there's a little LED light on the bottom lip that shows that it's getting power. The packaging was also nice, but that's just going into recycling. Still, I appreciate the effort. The only con is that the USB cable is fairly short, though I'm able to put the hub on my desk and connect it to the back of my PC without any trouble. I doubt it will be a problem for most. 5Stopped working after 1 month Since it's been over a month, I can no longer return it unfortunately. But I can write my first review! When I bought it, it was fine but after one month, I started noticing some of the ports weren't issues. At first I thought it was the device I was connecting but after switching through the ports and trying other USB ports, I came to the conclusion that its time was up. Over the course of maybe a week when I first discovered it, Each other port was slowly discontinuing. Now none of them work. I've made no mods or physical connection changes. It's been in the same spot when hardly much action as far as plugging in and out devices. It was cool while it lasted but time to look for an alternative. Another thing I want to mention is that the bottom of the hub seems like it's meant to keep it stable in one spot. Typically I would get some tape and stick it to my desk so it stays stable, but with this material, I couldn't do so. And the material didn't help keep it stable either. 2Pictures are all wrong Disgusting manufacturer. I have when manufacturers have wrong product information/pictures or just don't care to sell you something materially different than what's listed.I have several of these from a few years ago, and the logo was on the BOTTOM. Now, the pictures show a logo on the BACK. Well, now, this is totally wrong. Now, there is an ugly logo across the FRONT.The whole point of these hubs is understated/clean looks (Mac-like). This is not. I'm tempted to just stick with my old ones and return these. 1Feels solid, does what it's supposed to do. I bought this to replace another mini hub that, after a snap sound, will no longer fit my thumb drives. This does exactly what it's supposed to do and the thumb drives fit it. It has a little bit of weight to it, so it won't flop around like my white mini hub did (I think that was also a Sabrent). The only thing that may or may not annoy some people is a white LED that lights up along the underside of the front edge when it's plugged in. Not a big deal, it's not bright enough to warrant a piece of tape (for me), but so long as the hub is plugged in, that light will be on. I suppose it'll help you find your hub in a dark spot. 5It works! I have a laptop (enovo Flex 4) with only 2 usb ports and like to use an external dvd writer, external hdd and music in usb sticks. This comes handy and it works with m Toshiba HDD, Dell DVD RW and usb. We'll about durability. Only concern is that the ports are pretty tight and you have to push connections a bit harder than the usual, which might lead to some issues users have experimented with this product longer term. So far satisfied. 4Functions Well and is Heavy (so port stays in place b/c it's made of metal) * This is my third Sabrent Port.* I've had a very good experience using the ports made (or sold by) Sabrent.* My experience is that these last and perform vey well.* I have never had a Sabrent port fail.* Data transfer is both reliable and very consistent.* One of the best features of this port is that it is heavy because it is made of metal. So, the port stays in-place on my desk. I have learned that having a port that is heavy is one of the most important features. 5
