A Hidden Gem for FastTrack AccessoriesThe Rubbermaid 24-inch metal mesh basket, designed to hang on the FastTrack wall-mountable system, is an outstanding addition to the Rubbermaid accessory line.Pros:Sturdy construction, holds up to 50lbs of internal weight, locks tightly onto the FastTrack rail, tapered design allows for easier access to items in the basket, and its visual stylization matches perfectly with all other FastTrack accessories.Cons:No cons for its fit and functionality. Couple things could be reconsidered for future design: 1 - this product ships in a HUGE box and it does catch the attention of passerby's while its sitting on your front porch and 2 - the locking mechanisms are not mounted onto the basket itself: instructions are included to self-mount the basket to the locks and subsequently the rails (it can be easy to mount it incorrectly, so read the instructions closely and examine the included photos).Overall:We will be purchasing additional 24-inch mesh baskets for our FastTrack rail system. They currently hold all of our gardening supplies. Neighbors, family, & friends have ALL asked "Where can I purchase those baskets for my FastTrack? They are so helpful for storage!". The baskets are often difficult to locate in stores and sometimes overpriced -- we've ordered multiple FastTrack accessories here, on Amazon, and had no issue with price comparison, product condition, or shipping times. 5Five StarsGreat product, fast delivery.......as always and it exceeded my expectations 5What is it?This is described as a mesh basket but depicted as a wire basket. So, what do you get? I got a wire basket which is fine with me since I really did not care what type it was but I just needed a basket. I love the FastTrack system and have many of the attachments including a Rubbermaid mesh basket which I purchased at Lowes. I have a wire basket from Lowes as well but needed another one and did not feel like making a trip to Lowes when Amazon delivers right to my door. This is a sturdy basket which I use to store various garden hose parts and attachments. It is two feet long, a foot wide and about eight and a half inches deep. It holds a lot of stuff.FYI, the basket comes with an instruction sheet which refers to it as a wire basket. On the basket itself is a label which also calls it a wire basket. If you are in need of a mesh basket you will need to look elsewhere. 5The Perfect Way to Store Bicycles!I have 13 bicycles on 2 walls in my garage and over the last 30 years have found the Rubbermaid system is by far, the best way to store bicycles. I have 6 Colnagos, including some very rare models and a $12,000 C60. Would never trust any other system to hold and store the bikes. Super easy to put up or take down and you can adjust the distance between hooks with little effort. The hooks themselves are long and don't damage my $4,000 carbon wheelset! Love the system!!! 5Great hook on a great system. The power tool hook is great! It fits my Stihl string trimmer perfectly. It won't hold my Stihl blower though, the longer ladder or multi purpose hooks work great for that. One thing to note, I had it on the rail in my garage, and it works perfectly. That was temporary as I was in the process of getting a new shed. I hung a 84in rail in the shed, on open studs. The weight of the trimmer (15lbs) and the lack of solid wall behind the rail pushed the plastic clip and the spring behind it out of the little hinges that hold it onto the metal. This resulted in the hook only being held on by the top and not the bottom, so it could easily be pulled off the wall with the tool. I was able to get the plastic back on and put a screw behind it to offer more support for the plastic piece. This hook should be designed for the extra weight that a trimmer with a full tank of gas presents. But it's only a problem on open stud walls. Other than that, I totally recommend this hook. 4Handy bike hooks, but requires strength to useI have several of these and hang our bikes up during the week and off season. I can get a lot of bikes up in a little space with these, but the bikes do stick out a bit. The hook holds the bike by the rim.Keep in mind it takes both hands and some upper body strength to use these hooks. If you are not up to holding your bike up on end in the air, consider getting one of the bike hoists like the RAD or MVPower available here on Amazon. Having a lightweight (read: expensive) bike doesn't hurt! 5Great Trimmer/Edger Bracket - Don't need to use the track system if you don't want to.I had tried some other brackets to hold my Husq 322L trimmer/edger but they didn't fit around the motor mount very well and left the unit in a precarious position. I returned them and ordered this one after reading another review here that stated that they didn't use the track system and just mounted the bracket directly.I had to pack some scrap wood behind the top where the track would normally go, but once that was done i was able to use the 2 screw holes to mount the bracket to the wall. The bracket fits the husq 322L securely. The black spring loaded track lever on the bracket works like a little cushion on the rear of the trimmer. It worked out perfectly. 5My garage is like a whole new garage! So I couldn't seem to write a review for the whole system overall, but here goes...I decided to redo much of my garage storage and organization. I had a few things hanging on the wall here and there, a bunch of stuff piled up in the corner, some stuff on shelves that really could've been hung up, etc. The main tool used for the reorganization was the Rubbermaid fasttrack system. It ended up being a bit more expensive than I thought overall, but mainly because I kept thinking of additional uses for it and additional hooks to buy, more rails, etc.I ended up with 6 of the 48" rails and probably 20 or so various hooks. In many of the photos I saw, people had very well spaced out, nice looking displays but I was more interested in function - storing as much stuff as I could! So it might look a little chaotic, but everything has a place, and everything is easily accessible! In the main corner of the garage, I used it to store my bike mechanics rack, two snow shovels, regular shovel, two rakes, post hole digger, pole saw, chain saw, five extension cords (some on the rubbermaid extension chord adapter, which I'm not a huge fan of, but worked ok... the rest on spools hanging), dolly, three tennis rackets, two brooms, leaf blower, weed whacker, three pedestal lights, clipper, axe, sledge hammer, hand spreader, large spreader, and car duster. I also did a separate rack with my bike, helmet, pump, and shoes all hanging nice and organized!A few comments on the individual pieces:-the extension chord wrap seems poorly designed, unless mounting right near a plug. There is no way to take it off the hook and actually use the cord aside from unravelling the entire thing, disconnecting it. If I had to do it again, I wouldn't waste time with this one.-the bike mount seems good and actually spaces the bike the perfect distance from the wall, but I am nervous about it long term. It says it'll support 50 pounds. I'm not sure how heavy my bike is, but the bars "sagged" a bit when I placed the bike up there. Hopefully it'll stay sturdy!-Some of the plastic pieces that go over the rails I am nervous may not last forever... especially in the heat of the garage. We'll see how they hold up long term. The mounting of the rails itself was pretty easy. The hardest part was finding the studs (being an unfinished garage, this wasn't too hard, as the nails were still visible). I used the mounting kit, though probably could've gotten by with my own screws and anchors. I used two holes in each stud, and 2-3 anchors across the 48" rail and it went fine.Overall, I give the system five stars. I like having everything well organized! 5Great organizationI purchased this to help organize my sons sporting balls. He is 3.5 years old so I feel that some of his miniature balls are a little small for this, but he will definitely grow into it. I didn t know you needed a rail system to hang this so we just screwed it into a stud instead. The hanging devise looks a little strange and bulky without the rail system. 3Decluttering SuccessNo idea when I purchased the rack, but since then, I acquired more long-handled tools than I started out with. This old girl had no difficulty attaching the rack to the wall, and the hooks adjusted easily (intuitively!) to it. Adding the additional hook did mean removing all the tools so they could be repositioned to accommodate the fourth. Garage is tidy (enough) again. Rubbermaid still makes some of the best stuff you can buy for reasonable prices. (I am in no way associated with them, nor do I receive promotional items.) 5
