Customer Reviews

Such a cheap imitation of a great bag Right out of the packaging the stitching at the bottom of the bag was already bad. Not a doubt that money was saved by using cheap thread to hold together such a nice bag. I had one of these bags while in the military and even after many, many years of use the thread used to sew it was still good. I will look off amazon for an actual military spec bag. 111" x 7" x 6" I am tired of reading poor reviews of this bag with comments stating the bag is too small. The bag is exactly as the product description states:Product DescriptionThis heavyweight canvas mechanic's tool bag from Rothco will keep you organized and ready at a moment's notice! The interior is spacious for larger tools, with 8 tool pouches on the sides to keep your other gear neat and orderly. The exterior has a large pocket on each side which closes with snap closures for paperwork, pens, or other accessories you might need. The bag shuts with a large zipper and can be carried by the two durable handles in the center. The bag measures 11" x 7" x 6".I ordered this bag because it is the perfect size to store and carry boxes of 9mm ammo. Mine currently has 9 boxes of 50ct. ammo in it with room for more. It fits perfectly in the main storage area of my large GPS range bag with room to still carry three pistols in separate cases.Over all, this bag is well made, rugged and has a very heavy duty zipper. It has slim pouch on each outer side and a series of loops on both inner walls. If you need a small tough bag to keep things organized then don't hesitate to buy this bag. 5Good bag. This has a brass zipper. I think that's a must. I got this to replace an actual military issue bag of the same type which had shall we say, "been around the block" quite a lot. So here's the skinny on this: it's a good, sturdy, tough bag with proper brass zipper; but it's material is just slightly less thick as the G.I. bag I had. The bag I had which finally wore out was OLD (decades) and had seen a lot of use. So I don't know if the military issue bags today are equivalent to this, or if this is just slightly less rugged than the military issue ones. That being said, do not sweat it a bit. It is very nearly the same as my old one, and I can tell it's pretty stout. I'm confident it is going to last me a long time. Honestly, I'm middle aged as I write this and I'll bet it may outlast me. 5Roomy and Flexible! I like everything about this tool bag, and am using as my "Go-Bag" of Lutherie supplies. It has plenty of room for an electric drive string winder, pliers, screwdrivers, fret rocker, string pin puller, wire cutters, feeler gauges, packets of strings, tuner, etc. I've had a couple smaller military toolbags for probably 30 years, but the canvas is so thick that it's stiff, and the brass zippers are always tough to use unless I have recently lubricated them with soap or candle wax. But the zipper on this Rothco bag is super-easy to use, and the bag is flexible enough to easily fit into tight spaces, and to change shape to accommodate oddly-shaped tools. 5It's all in the brass zipper! Go for it. This is a great bag. I've bought three of them - different colors/patterns. Super strong. And if anyone knows anything about zippers - brass is the way to go. Brass zippers are the most forgiving and hold the strongest and last the longest. No rust, no ripping nylon. Brass is the way to go. 5Awesome tool bag! Very durable satchel! I keep a ton of tools in it, well actually just a few pounds of tools. Lots of side pockets for small or delicate items and plenty of room for wrenches screwdrivers, etc in the main pocket. The brass zipper is very smooth. Reminds me of the military grade tool bags I used in the Navy. Go ahead and buy it, you'll have it forever. 5Excellent little tool bag! This is a nice little solution for carrying the tools that you always like to keep nearby. There are just some hand-tools that I use constantly and when this selection of tools outgrew the Klein Tools zippered pouch that I was using, I decided to look for something with a bit more space. This Rothco Mechanics Tool Bag fits my needs perfectly. It's got about 50% more space than my previous tool pouch, but not so big that I may as well be carrying a toolbox. The construction and quality seem excellent and I'm assuming it will last a long time. I'm thinking about buying another one for my electrical troubleshooting gear. 5BAG & TAG & AVOID THE LAG. Perhaps it was the nostalgic lure of the product image that reminded me of my childhood days wandering through the old military surplus and Army/Navy stores that caught my eye. Whatever it was, it worked.I currently have 6 in use and need another. These flexible ditty bags are the same durable canvas quality of the Mil-Spec bags of old...and with heavy-duty brass zippers. They are fantastic gear bags for fishing, hunting, camping, auto & ATV tool kits. Many tools today do not come with carrying cases. These bags are great for creating tool kits for specific purposes...and I like to create my own kits.I ve seen professional craftsmen like plumbers and electricians dig for 15 minutes in a box the size of a double-wide bathtub filled with a 20 year collection of job related odds and ends. Sometimes they actually find what they are looking for. Perhaps the search and discovery is part of the fun. Personally, I d rather have what I need when I need it and know where to find it.What s wrong with organization? The first-aid kits on the market today offer too much of what I don t need and not enough of what I do need, so, I build my own according to my special needs. This bag works perfectly for me.Cheap first-aid kits in plastic containers will break and spill the contents all over the ground...and shards of broken plastic will cut flesh and none of the kits I ve seen even contain Celox or QuikClot. One caveat:If you are thinking of buying your wife one for a make-up or overnight kit, you might want to reconsider. 5I flibbin' love it! Honestly I expected it to have cheap construction because of the price, but it's actually thick canvas material. It's not too small to where I can't fit anything standard sized in it, and not so big it's a pain to haul with me to the junk yard for smaller tasks. 5The zipper is made of brass and is strong and much better than other bags that have plastic and don't last ... I received this Rothco G.I. tool bag with brass zipper arriving very quickly and well packaged for shipment. The exterior of the bag is canvasand strong material that will endure time. The zipper is made of brass and is strong and much better than other bags that have plastic and don't last long when used over time which is another fine feature. The size of the bag is as described, and is good for holding sockets, ratchets and wrenches and some small pliers and screwdrivers. This is one of my three tool bags that I have that hold specific types of tools for my truck only.My other bags are filled for my passenger car, and one for tools needed for around the house usage. I am very happy that I have made a purchaseof this brand of tool bag, and tell others that they won't be be dissappointed in getting one. The product is rated as a 5***** and you will surelywill get your moneys worth. 5
