Customer Reviews

Works, but does not come with instructions. Should come with instructions. I had to guess and look up on the internet how to use this stripper. There are four sizes on the adjustable opening but they're not clearly labeled. I was stripping quad shield RG6, so i guessed and used the largest opening. I got it to make clean cuts, but I also had to adjust the blades using the included allen wrench to get the depth of the two cuts correct. It needs to cut deep enough but not too deep. Again I had to guess at how to set these and do several practice cuts to get it right. That said, I can't fault the operation of the device, I got good clean cuts once I got it set up correctly. I did take away a star for the lack of instructions. I'm not a professional, just a home hobbyist, so some guidance would have been appreciated. 4Got what I paid for. I needed to terminate a hand full of RG6 cables and decided to buy a cheap stripper. This looked good and had some okay reviews. When I got it the stripper seemed to be built well but when I used it I had nothing but trouble. Kept chewing up the cable and twisting the braided shield around the conductor. Never got a clean cut out of it once. Tried adjusting the blades several times. Ended up borrowing a buddies $35 stripper to finish the job.Giving it 2 stars because if feel like picking the braided shielding off the conductor you can get it to work. Also might have been better if I replaced the blades. Didn't feel like bothering with that though. 2Like these things Like these things. They work pretty good. They are adjustable and even have a little wrench on the bottom to get them tweaked just right. Been using them for years on the job as a cable installer. The company i work for issues some other contraption but I buy these out of my own pocket cause the they work better for me and that makes my day just a little better. At $5.15, it's the best price I've payed too. 4works but not as versatile as stated it does strip cable but the "instructions" say that you can adjust the cutters for different insertion depths. no suggestions as to how and it looks like it is impossible. instructions are good at explaining the obvious but not this aspect and I am pretty sure it is just stuck at 6mm and is not adjustable. 3Works well but requires some experimentation to adjust and figure out how to use it. No instructions were provided. Comes with an Allen wrench for adjusting two blades. Requires trial and error to figure out how it is intended to be used and to adjust the blades correctly. Works well once you are able to get past these obstacles.RCA Coaxial Cable Stripper for RG6, RG59/62 and RG58 Wire Stripper 3I found a good YouTube video that explained exactly how to adjust for ... Works well but could do with a quick start guide to make proper adjustments. I found a good YouTube video that explained exactly how to adjust for different size cables and depth cutting. The only downside I encountered was that the included Allen key no longer stays in place after removal a few times. However, once properly adjusted I don't need to worry about it. 4No Need For a More Expensive Model This was not adjusted properly for RG6 when I opened it; I had to move the blade that cuts down to the center wire. After that I used it for several connections and it's a breeze to use. Having done RG6 manually in the past with a utility knife I can safely say this is worth every penny. It looks like the lengths of the inner insulation is supposed to be adjustable, but I couldn't see a way to do that. Thankfully most compression connectors use 6mm (about 1/4"), which is what this comes preset to.Something to note: If you're using this with standard compression fittings, the 6mm *is* correct. You have to take the fitting and twist it onto the cable until the white part is flush with the front end of the connector. This also means you don't need to have any of the shielding wire visible in the stripped area, because the fitting will contact that as you twist it and part of the fitting goes under the outer jacket. I share this because I didn't know at first and was quite confused by the seemingly short stripped wire length. 4Good budget cable stripper There are probably better cable strippers out there, but this does the job well. I only needed it for one project, after which it will probably collect dust to maybe be used again years later. As such, I didn't want to invest a lot of money in a cable stripper. For the price I was pleasantly surprised with the performance of this stripper. And it was fairly easy to use. 5Great product. Hadnt used anything similar before but after ... Great product. Hadnt used anything similar before but after using this to install about a dozen PL - 259 connectors on LMR -240 I wouldnt use anything else. Need to be a little careful to not rotate the stripper around the coax, first time I used it, rotated it to many times and cut the outer braid. I just rotate it once or twice until just before the two halves touch and all other attempts have been perfect. 5It is very easy to adjust the blade height (I had to raise ... It is very easy to adjust the blade height (I had to raise mine a bit) with the provided allen wrench. One star loss for the bar code label that was pasted over the instructions on how to use the tools (it was not easy getting it off). The length of the exposed center wire is dependent on how far you push the coax through the tool. I used the edge of the tool as a guide. Once you've cut the insulation, it was best just to pull the tool off the cable to take the insulation off the cable and left a well stripped end - ready for a connector. 4
