Customer Reviews

Great value for a whole lotta noise If you're looking for a great way to make noise without spending a lot, these are the ticket. We bought 5 of these to bring to a company event, and we were by far the loudest group there, easily standing out among the 3500 people there. These have a really nice aux input feature that lets you broadcast music or other recorded content from your phone, radio, or mp3 player. The shoulder strap also works great for discretely carrying the whole thing under your arm while using the handheld mic. Build quality is very good considering what it costs. We dropped ours a few times and they kept going. Pyle has been around forever making affordable audio gear, and probably doesn't get the credit it deserves. Considering what you could pay for another model with the same specs, this thing is a great value. 5Don't expect a long life with this. I purchased this megaphone to lead cheers for a pro soccer team and it worked fine. It was actually impressive. However, towards the end of the second game I was using this item, it stopped working.I tried using it again and it worked fine, but periodically it would cut out. Then for the fourth game it wouldn't work at all, and still it does not work at all. Highly disappointed. 2Once I tightened them down it was fine. I used it all last summer and it ... It works well however it seems to be cheaply made. So I wanted to be careful with it, that it gets handled with care and not by someone who is even slightly clumsy! Upon using it the first time, I found that the microphone was not in a working condition, when it was put together they had not tightened the screws holding the switch in place. So I found myself over the next 20 minutes tearing the microphone apart and putting the switch back in its original place and getting the screws back in it. Once I tightened them down it was fine. I used it all last summer and it performed well. We used it for announcements as well as hooking up the MP3 player to it via the 3.5mm audio jack. So my only complaint is that it is made a bit cheap, but it does perform well. 4Good value but one fatal flaw I have purchased bullhorns for 15 years for a labor union. We are hard on them. We used the Radio Shack powerhorn until they closed. For a recent project I bought a dozen of these.Generally they are a modern rebuild of the 80s Powerhorn (some parts are the same). The fatal flaw is the microphone. The tiny screw holding the volume thumbwheel should be secured with a glue so it won't come loose, but that is not happening. The screws fall out on the ground, so you can't repair them. When I figured what was happening I opened up each microphone casing (remove the little sticky label, there is a screw behind it), and put a little hot glue on the head. But you shouldn't have to do that. The other thing is that the microphone is not water proof. During some heavy rain, several bullhorns failed. So don't get them wet.Generally a good update on the Powerhorn, very good value, but they need to address some quality control issues. 4Loud Used it during a team building event at the beach. No issues being heard with this thing. I like how you can either sling the megaphone and use the handheld mic, or latch the mic bullhorn and use the trigger like a regular bullhorn. Between events I moved the selector switch to 'OFF' because when it's set to 'TALK' there's some noise while not in use. Noticed the rubber guard around the edge of the cone was slightly torn at the bottom. Not sure if that was there out of the box or after the event. Has no impact on operation. 5DO NOT PURCHASE! This Megaphone is horrible! I ordered it twice already and both time there were problems with it. The first time, it didn't work at all or turn on. We even tried replacing the batteries again, and it didn't work. The siren didn't work, the volume, nothing! Then I decided to give it another shot, so I asked for a replacement. It worked in the beginning, then suddenly shut off. I didn't even get to use it for more than an hour until it stopped working. To top it off, it is such a hassle to get credit back. I need to box and ship both megaphones back in order to get credit.I would not recommend this product! I only ordered this from reading previous reviews. However, don't be fooled. It has been so frustrating. 1Mic is kinda chintzy and the "Automatic Siren" is a terrible, bafflingly feature BUT FIXABLE with an easy mod. Decently made considering the price and performs perfectly but I have two issues with unit. The handheld mic, which incorporates the volume knob, is rather lightweight and somewhat flimsily built when compared to rest of the unit and I question how long it will hold up. Also, the power switch. It's simply WAY too easy to accidentally bump the switch to "siren" and unleash an unholy racket on yourself and any unsuspecting soul within earshot. I made a simple, anyone-can-do-it modification to the switch so it wouldn't happen EVER AGAIN. See pic.1. Remove small screw located just left of the switch.2. Fabricate a thin, small disc just big enough to cover over the "siren" position on switch.3. Drill hole in disc to accept the screw from step 1.4. Insert screw through disc and re-fasten into megaphone. This does wipe out use of the siren feature, of course. But say good riddance to obnoxious and ear-shattering accidents. 4GREAT SOUND AND PROJECTION!!! We road around at the National Street Rod convention selling bag ice out of the back of the utility hauler. Last year I did the same thing and lost my voice within one day. This year, I purchased the bullhorn. It is made by DJ Tech Pro USA, LLC.It really serves it's purpose well. We loaded up with a bunch of C batteries. It was more than enough to be heard over a large large crowd with the loud cars. It was nice that it had a handheld attachment it actually mounted on the bullhorn itself. It would lock in the on position. That made it very convenient.I was very happy with my purchase. It was quality made. It was not cheap in anyway. It looks to last as long as I take care of it. I do recommend this for anyone needing one. It was well worth the money. 5Works weakly, no 12v power cord and the warranty is worthless I just took it out of the box and inserted the batteries into the sleeve and then the unit. It works fairly weakly. It is nowhere as loud as it should be and to call it "professional" quality is in my opinion deceptive. There are two items of note you should be aware of. The first is even though it has a 12volt power input, there is no power supply cord to use it with and the second is about the warranty terms. If you need to have it serviced you must pay to ship it to brooklyn, ny and include a payment of $20 to return ship it to you. With all the added cost of using the warranty you might as well buy another megaphone and not bother. It has the effect of having no warranty because the cost is about equal to the price of a new one. They claim a projection range of one mile. The only way this can be true is if it were shot out of a cannon as a projectile. 1Super unhappy with this First of all, putting in the batteries was a nightmare. The rubber flange on it comes off and flies all around when you are trying to close it. The batteries had no support so unless they were perfectly balanced when you closed it, they would not work at all. It only worked two events before dying altogether. Super unhappy with this. 1
