SUCKED out of the box I waited too long before getting batteries to test it, because I assumed it would work when I wanted to play with it/record. I did nothing rough with it.. it literally sat in a box. I put the batteries in, turned it on in regular mode.. instant feedback. Tried everything possible to kill feedback, all different levels of volume- couldn't do it. Wouldn't even stop feeding back while talking into it (like a regular microphone/PA setup would.)It's a great concept and I liked the price... but because of that I cannot give it more than one star.As far as other features go:The siren function worked.The record and playback function worked...Whoever tested that part before me, left an obscene message on it.. which I was not too keen about on hearing (although I admit it's really funny.) 1a little annoying to do every time Was about to send it back thinking it didn't work--put batteries in, but nothing..then I realized if I press the bottom red part on the back of the bullhorn while speaking, then it works...a little annoying to do every time, but it works well when it works...So, if you get it and it doesn't work, start pressing down on the cap like you are tightening it, you will probably see that it will work...as if it's making the batteries connect better by pressing down on the cap. 4really like siren feature have an idea for a perimeter alarm ... really like siren feature have an idea for a perimeter alarm for deer camp w trip wire weather will have to be considered a problem though 4Great Item for kids starting summer Break A+++!!!! I bought this for the start of Summer Break and while our Kids were less than enthused, I was tired of talking and it's been great fun. The main feature was the voice recorder and play back function, which I use so as to not have to repeat myself. "Time to get up, time to get up, time to get up...". And you can adjust the volume accordingly. "Clean up your room, Clean up your room, CLEAN UP YOUR ROOM!". Sadly, after just a few days of the bull horn talking directly to their brain stem, it was no longer needed. They were moving-out the first time I said something, and if not "Do I need to get the horn?" sped them up. Even our Labrador listens better now. The Bull horn rules! 4Used it to quiet down my drunk yelling neighbor. Worked perfect. Thank you Pyle Pro! So in the interest of being transparent; I have a neighbor that apparently can't control her alcohol intake. She beings yelling at her husband late in the evening (around dinner time). I decided that in order to derail her yelling, and create some mild entertainment for my wife and I; this bullhorn was just the ticket.I couldn't put the batteries in fast enough. As usual, a couple nights in she started yelling. I fired up the bullhorn, about 1/2 volume and in my best authoritative voice told her to "Pipe Down". Even 1/2 volume was too loud...leaves fell off trees, squirrels scattered and an owl took flight. She went immediately silent. Not to be outdone, she started up again about 30 minutes later.Using my cellphone, I recored a police siren onto the bullhorn. It played back acute, clear and loud. Perfect. She went silent again, this time it lasted. I couldn't be happier with the bull horn's performance and the outcome. I almost wish it hadn't work so well, because now I have no reason to use it. My only regret is that I couldn't order one for her husband, he probably needs it the most.Easy to use, works well, very loud. Thanks for reading. 5"You kids get off my lawn" It was a cheap solution to a behavioral problem with the kids and neighbors. The siren scares the h3ll out of the kids and that brings them in line instantly. When they are out in the yard, I can yell at them to come in with ease. MEGAphone let's me shout at the neighbors with authority. I can also muster more volume than they can so I can drown them out in shouting matches. It also works well in my ad hoc yard sales/auctions.I have found that the volume slide is a bit touchy. It sounds like a connection isn't great inside because it squelches pretty frequently when changing volume. 4Surprisingly good for the price This was actually a very surprisingly effective little bullhorn. I bought this for our band director because he seemed to be screaming himself hoarse when calling out directions to our high school marching band from the top of the observation tower. I was actually quite surprised at how well it performed. From the top of a 30 foot tower positioned at the 50 yard line, the instructions could be very clearly understood at both ends of the field. Just be aware that there is no momentary push to talk button. When you turn it on it stays on until you turn it off and if you don't use the on/off switch effectively, you're going to run through an awful lot of batteries. 5One of my best purchases I love this bullhorn. I yell at construction workers when they are standing around as well as traffic when they will not let me in. This thing works! When your husband just disappears when you need him to do something, the entire neighborhood finds out quick. I recommend this bullhorn for anyone who wants fast results and is sick of all the idiots around them moving slow. Great for calling out people going in and out of drug houses, people who don't think anyone is watching them let their dogs poop in your yard. 5Seriously Effective Plus It's Lots of Fun Bears and some of Mother Nature's other critters have taken over the woods around here and they are on the prowl. We love to watch all the critters that frequent our yards; however, when they are so hungry they have to attack our garbage can and we have to restore the garbage to the can it is a bother especially if they do it on the morning of collection. Deadly devices are not an option so we chose the Pyle-Pro PMP35R (PPP) as a method of reducing our visitors desire for food and other wonderful items such as Amazon boxes.PPP is an effective tool for giving the critters the boot but with humanity to a small degree. Mama bear is larger than our garbage can and she has at least two hungry cubs. We carefully powered the PPP and turned on the siren. I just wish I had a free hand to capture a picture of the three of them looking at me with such a scared look on their faces. You can just see the 6 red-eyes in the dark. Off to the woods they go and probably to grandma's house. So far they have not returned.Not only does the PPP have a shrill sounding siren but it has the capability to record about 10 seconds of any sound the user may desire. I recorded my voice calling the dogs and all I got was their barking because they do not like strangers and at times some of us are quite strange. Adjusting the volume is simple and easy. It claims a range of about 800 yards and that is an accurate claim. To test the claim I left the house with the horn in hand and turned on the siren and the sound could not be heard from at least 600 yards. No compensation was made for the hills, houses and trees. Thank goodness the neighbors were at work and for those who were at home they shook their heads and said there goes crazy man again.PPP is sturdy and constructed well. The plastic is of a quality material and should last quite some time. I sure am glad we have a few D Batteries on hand because we will be using them as long as we have unwanted visitors or our local PD tells us to stop with our antics. This is not only a fun product it is well made and we highly recommend it for any type of need that requires bullhorn techniques. 5THE BEST! Barking Dogs? Obnoxious Kids or Neighbors? Meet the Equalizer! This is a beautiful product. After I added a couple of batteries and turned this baby on, I knew I had a winner. The two mutts that bark 24/7 absolutely froze and ran inside when I did my best bear growl. You can also leave it on and next to a speaker for nice "ampliphied" noise. Best of all, it has a built in siren (dogs love that) and you can record anout 10 seconds and play on a continuous loop. I like to record barking dogs. Then, just as the people with the mutts are going to bed (well, actually, i wait 15-20 min. Until they are nice and groggy), I put it near their fence, turn it on, and then head inside and listen to music or watch tv. One time, the police came and when I explained that it was not my dogs barking, but rather, was a recording of their dogs barking....he almost fell over laughing and then he gave me a stern warning ( :) ) and left. And I actually love dogs and I know it is the owner's fault, but in Los angeles, the city wont do anything, even if you win during arbitration....so I may get a second and third of this beautiful product. It works great, sounds good, is loud, and inexpensive. A winner all the way around. 5
