Can You Hear Me Now? Loud and Clear It turned out to be a lot better than I thought it would be. We needed it to help our voices carry over a great distance (at least 1000 yards through trees and other natural obstacles) and this has done the trick. It's not too heavy, comes with a handheld microphone, has a siren and a couple of other features. Vocal projection is loud, clear even at a distance. We are absolutely pleased with it and it definitely serves our purpose. 5Perfect for getting the crowds attention. I purchased this item in order to get the crowds attention during our annual Halloween Haunt. It was perfect. We always have a large line, and it gets quite noisy. I was able to get peoples attention without having to strain my vocal cords this year, the sound was very clear and carried well. I will continue to use this year after year, and to embarrass our daughter at graduation. 5Like it. We have a 15 passenger van and it is so hard to talk to people in the back of the van without yelling (because of distance, road noise, others talking music on, etc)! This solves that problem. Not only is this loud enough to easily talk to everyone in the van, but the siren is great for getting attention, and the music is very annoying (which is a great bribe to get people to settle down). We also tried the PMP20 model first and it was not powerful enough, even though I liked the size better. 5Purchased this product for my son. When it arrived ... Purchased this product for my son. When it arrived, I could not get it to work. I shortly discovered the wire from the batteries was blocking the batteries from making a positive connection. I was able to simply push the wire out of the way, allowing the megaphone to work properly. 5Loud and a great value! It works perfectly. It is loud and great for crowds and little kid wrangling. I have used it for church, block parties, work functions and softball games. It is a good value. The only, only, only thing I would comment about is it takes 6 batteries. Other than that small thing, I ordered 2 others for my church and I am giving one to the place where I work. 5Not so effective for recess duty After having it a month...I use it only for outside recess duty. It is loud but not as loud as the description. More like can be heard up to 30 yards. The button to press down to activate the part to talk into, has stopped working properly. It now takes multiple pushes to get it to click down and stay in place. 3Breaks Easily (But the Customer Service is Great) I bought this a few months ago and had a couple issues. Within the first week, the black plastic around the front part of the megaphone peeled off for seemingly no reason. I never touched it, but maybe it detached when I placed it on the ground.Another issue is that the cover comes off too easily, making it a hassle to pick up the heavy batteries, as it's like dropping grenades, which could also hurt you. The issue is that the hatch is not secured enough, especially since it's holding a bunch of heavy batteries.As long as you are really careful with it, it shouldn't be that inconvenient, but I would probably buy the better one that they sell, as long as it has a better hatch system. 2Actually does work I lost one of my cockatiels awhile back and went through the neighborhood with this megaphone and a tape of his mate. It really worked well. You don't need the amplifier with it -works fine without, and I'm not sure why you would use the "music" button (pretty corny) but the siren button definitely works - nice and loud. Takes quite a few large batteries but I used the heck out of it for a couple of weeks and the batteries are going strong.I hesitated at first buying this because of some of the reviews, but everything worked just as described on mine and the quality was nicer than I expected. If you need a megaphone for outdoor events, you'll be happy with this one.BTW: My cockatiel was found 2 weeks later over 10 miles away and I picked him up from the shelter. Doing fine. 5Nice megaphone but would not say it is a pro series. This megaphone is loud. It's made of hard plastic. I find that it is louder without the detachable microphone. I has a button to press that plays a very irritating tone and another one that sounds a siren which I have no idea what you would use it for. The volume control is a slide bar to increase or decease the volume. I'm pleased with it and it serves the purpose intended. 5Great Product - Uses Six (6) D-Cell Batteries [Description says four (4)]. Nice productOne note here:The Amazon description says "[It] works with just 4 D batteries.It uses six (6), as stated on the box.Also, the instructions refer to batteries as UM-1 cells, which are in fact D Cells.Otherwise, great product. 5
