Customer Reviews

Nice, but the top chamber is smaller than in earlier designs.I think it is all right that is has a small upper chamber - it is for occasional use and forces you to rotate (replace) the water more often. We use it only for drinking, so it is good for 1-2 people only for drinking. If you cook on filtered water, you would need a bigger upper volume model.I really like the imroved design of the lid - it is easier now to fill it up - there is a special opening and now it can be operated with 1 hand, while the other controls the water. 5Works well in my situation.Bought this to replace another brand of pitcher after I found I couldn't buy filters. The water in my work place has a metallic taste to it, this filter takes care of that quite nicely. I've noticed that the water is much better from this pitcher than the other (ZeroWater). With the old pitcher, I would fill a glass of water and by the end of the day the water would taste rather nasty. With this PUR filter pitcher, the water doesn't "acquire" some .bad taste. 4Simple. Functional. Practical.I have used so many filtered water pitchers. The most unpleasant part is always: 1) figuring out when to change the filter, and 2) removing the lid and physically changing the filter. This pitcher makes doing both so easy. The flip-open top means no more having to manually remove the entire lid and spilling water everywhere. Just flip it open with your thumb, and close it when you're done. The entire process can be done with one hand. When it's time to change the filter, the LED indicator will let you know. Plus, removing the filter is a breeze. Just screw it in and that's it.Finally, the water tastes great. It's all I need! 5What a joke! The filter lasted only 4 refills of the tiny pitcher before it became clogged somehow! The pitcher has no way to pour without the entire lid assembly falling off as you pour, making a giant mess. I'm so upset with myself for buying this. CRAP ENGINEERING WITH NO PRODUCT RESEARCH, NEVER AGAIN. 1A better design than previous with some weird oversights. This pitcher is a step above the older design from PUR. The top fits better and has an easy open section instead of removing the entire cover for filling. The LED indicator is easy to ready and reset. The filling blue section funnels water better than the previous model. The pouring spout is a step backwards. It has a cover over the top meant to keep protect the water but it only gets in the way when pouring causing water to splash everywhere. Also you'll have to wait for the water to fully filter through the blue section before pouring as this new model will leak when water is still in the non-filtered blue section. 3It works, with some behavior modification (get used to holding the spout cover open)This water filter works just fine, except for one issue: the cover over the spout is incredibly annoying! It makes the water pour out in a very unnatural and slow fashion. I find myself propping it open before I pour from it, because otherwise I can't get a steady, thin stream of water to refill my water bottles. Other than that, it's basically exactly the same as the old model that cracked on me. I'm fond of the taste of PUR filtered water, but they are definitely behind the other filter producers on pitcher design! 3Water dribbles everywhere when pouring - REPLACEMENT PITCHER WORKS GREAT!I live in town where we have water with high mineral content and water tastes awful and leaves a white residue behind in coffee pots, dish drainers. The water tastes great with this filtration pitcher and it is for me, just the right size. Now the BIG NEGATIVE - when pouring, the pitcher dribbles water all over my counter. I have poured after the water has completely drained from the reservoir, i have poured with the lid on and off. I have poured slowly. No matter what I've tried I end up with water all over my counter and table. I have written to PUR customer service but doubt there is a solution as others have posted similar comments.Have no idea why everyone is not having this same problem so would be interested in knowing the secret to pouring without water running everywhere including into the glass. Seems like a design flaw as when I pour i can see water pouring out from next to the spout. This is a deal breaker for me.Cannot get a larger pitcher because i do not have room in my small apartment refrigerator. So if you want great tasting water and are ok with water all over your counter when you pour, buy this pitcher.UPDATED Rating - I received replacement pitcher w/ one day delivery no extra charge (thank you Amazon!) - This replacement pitcher pours water as it should - YIPPEE. And the water tastes great. Would have rated 5 stars if I did not have to exchange the defective pitcher.UPDATED Rating - less than a year later, the LED indicator no longer works. 3Learn how it works, and deal with it. It does what it is supposed to do.We use this to fill our dog's water bowl throughout the day. The LED light to replace the filter came on after a month. However, another month has passed and when I drink the water I cannot taste any chlorine or chemicals like I would from the tap, which indicates that it is still working to some effect. Some ppl on here stated that the top pops off and the water spills out. This will not happen if you wait until the top reservoir filters the water into the lower part of the pitcher. The filtration process is kinda slow. We leave a pitcher of water nearby and every time we walk by just top it off. This is my first filtration pitcher so I don't have anything to compare it to. Could be better, could be worse. 4water comes out dirtier than the tap water (I tested 9 times)I spent the whole morning testing this device. I installed the filter as per their manual and I started measuring water purity with the device I have. The water comes out of this PUR filter as dirty or dirtier than the tap water. I thought it could be due to carbon particles - so I re-tested 9 times - and I always get the same result - the water out of the filter is slightly dirtier than the tap water. I am returning this. I would not recommend it to anyone. Get a ZERO water instead - it actually works. 1This is so much betterThan the brand new Brita I had to replace because the Brita's inner shield was not removable and I figured that mold and mildew would be happy growing there. Also, the Brita's filters (the ones that were indicated as replacements) did not fit all the way in, no matter how I tried. So I have my PUR, and its filters FIT, and it looks great and the filtered water tastes great - the inner part of the PUR pitcher IS removable-- it washes easily, pours easily and I love it. The indicator lights go a little crazy sometimes 9they all light up) but I still have the little stick-on "old fashioned" calendar that came with my ancient (2000) PUR and it works just fine.I use the Brita for a watering can now. 5
