Purchased the same cable in Nov 2010 and again recently in Jul 2012 - THIS IS NOT THE SAME CABLE THAT I ORDERED PREVIOUSLY!!! Around Jul 2012 I looked up my previous order from Nov 2010 because I wanted another high quality hdmi cable. I ordered 4 of them thinking that this would be the same as the previous order. It has the same exact title and if I click my previous order from Nov2010 this is the same page that I ordered from. The title is PTC 25ft Premium Gold Series HDMI Cable (HH-26-25E), the same as it was in Nov2010 Beware THIS IS NOT THE SAME CABLE!!! The thickness is about half that of the original cable that I purchased. It's not worth it to spend the shipping to return. Disappointed... 1Broke after a few months I bought this cable to wire my projector to my audio system. This cable worked great for a few months, and then my picture started to flicker in and out on the tv. The gold ends at one end had pulled apart from the plug. Even after I pushed it in, it would not work again. Seems to be shoddy built. Buy the Twisted Veins HDMI cables. They are much better constructed and just as low priced as these. Not to mention their customer service is top notch You will be much happier you did. Learn from my mistake 1Price vs Value Great quality product as expected. This came on the amazon market at the end of 2008 at $20 and since has dropped to average of $5. At times it dropped for a short period to less than $1. In my opinion this is a fair buy at $5 anything over is getting expensive for this especially with competition but anything under $5 is a good deal for this. 51080p Support Depends on Equipment Interconnected UPDATE: This cable DOES support 1080p video between my JVC HD250 projector and my Oppo BDP-83 Blu-ray player, with a Yamaha RX-A3000 receiver in between acting as the system controller. It does not support 1080p video for the same setup but with my HP LP2475W 24" monitor (HDCP-capable, 1920x1200 resolution capability). I have adjusted my rating accordingly, since the sync/flashing screen problem does not appear to be the fault of the cable but of my component interfaces. Unfortunately with the HDMI "standard"-sometimes the only way to find out if a cable actually works is to buy it and connect to one's specific equipment-apparently there is a lot of variability in the HDMI output and input characteristics from unit to unit, forcing the "test as you drive" approach. Not a good way to administer a standard, IMHO.....(original review)Cable is of good quality construction and fully supports up to 1080i, but will not consistently support 1080p as asserted by the listing details. I have since discovered that most 25 foot HDMI cables will not support 1080p or higher resolutions without issues-one needs a larger gauge and/or better shielded cable or an alternate approach (ie, HDMI over cat 6), which are options I am now evaluating. OTOH, $5 for a 25 foot cable that supports up to 1080i is a pretty good deal... 4Great cable great price I recently purchased a laptop, and wanted a long enough cable so I could hook it up to my TV.When I received the cable, it was heavy duty and seemed very well made. After hooking up my laptop to my TV with it, I had great sound and picture within seconds.I purchased this cable in 2008. Connected it before writing this review and it still works great.I highly recommend this cable because of the great construction, excellent picture and sound quality, and especially the low price. 5Not a ripoff Works great with laptop+blu-ray -> HDMI switch -> epson HC 720 projector. (Video only, audio going to stereo separately.) It's nice and long, feels like a good quality cable.PLUS it's WAY cheaper than buying a cable at any of the stores in my area. In fact, it's cheaper than buying a 6' HDMI cable. Seriously. I went to every store I could think of and they cheapest cable (for use with the above-mentioned HDMI switch) was $30. Thank goodness for Amazon. And this great cable. For the non-technical, digital images are not like old analog video cables. It either works, or it fails in EXTREMELY obvious ways. (No picture or completely messed up picture.) You don't need a trained eye to tell the difference. Don't let anyone sell you a $200 cable. 5GREAT! I have two and use them in my basement. ZERO problems. I connect an HD direct tv receiver to a 1080p projector with one and a blu-ray player with the other. Since this is in my basement and the projector is mounted to the ceiling I needed some pretty long cable. I could have gone with 15 feet, but no sense cutting it close. I can't see losing any picture quality even with the extra 10 feet. So the theory of "the longer the cable the less the picture quality" must not be that extreme when I have 20/20 vision and my 42" plasma and LCD tv's upstairs look just the same with at 3' hdmi cable. 5one potential problem This is a great cable at a great price. There is one problem that may potentially affect you though. The height of the HDMI connector is quite high (ie it is thick). Whereas many of these connectors are around 1/4 inch tall, this one is 7/8 inch. There is some a/v equipment out there that doesn't have enough room for this connector. My SONY LCD projector falls into this category. What I ended up doing was to get a small (1 foot) m-f HDMI cable extender, and this ended up with a male plug small enough to fit into the projector connector. This probably won't affect you, but measure your input connector area just in case. 4nice HDMI cable at this price Pro: Good cable specs and quality for the price. Works great on a 720P HDTV.Con: HDMI connector housing may not mechanically fit into tight area. No data-sheet or seller company ID in shipment.Comments :This cable works fine between my graphics card (Asus EAH3450/DI HDMI) card and LG 32" 702P HDTV (model# 32LG30-UA).I can't comment on whether the cable is clean at 10.2GHz or full 1080P because my tv is a 720P. I did run an alternating pixel (on-off-on-off) test picture and it displayed properly at the tv's native 1360x768 720P resolution (which is rare to see in the graphics world of over spec'd and under qa'd products these days). My current conclusion is that this cable works well for my 720P HDTV. The specs on Amazon indicate that this cable should also works well for 1080P's but I lack the equipment [TDR meter, video reference generator, etc.] to provide real technical test feedback. If your HDMI mating connections are in tight spaces you may need to shave the plastic on the cable HDMI connectors' edges to ensure a full mechanical insertion between the male and female HDMI connectors because the connector housing is bulky. (I've seen this before with eSATA cable interconnections). 4Cheap 25FT HDMI cables works! I was a little skeptical when I purchase this item, because I saw 25FT HDMI cables going for $50-$120 in most stores. So I figured how could they make a working $6 25' HDMI cable. I took a chance in purchasing it since I figured $6 wouldn't kill me if it didn't work.Much to my surprise, I tried it out, and it does work.I could barely see any visible difference in reception between an expensive 6FT HDMI cable and this dirt cheap 25FT HDMI cable.I purchase this to extend the cable box reception to three of my children's bedrooms, and I'm using an HDMI splitter which is also helping to boost the signal.See... HDMI Splitter 1x4 Ports 4 Port 1080P v1.3 HDTV 3D HD AudioThis combination works great! If you have a system in which you want picture-perfect reception, than you'll probably want to go with the store bought $120 HDMI cable. However, if you're extending HDMI reception to an area which perfection is not a requirement, (and for most children they don't care), than I recommend purchasing this cable. 4
