Great way to finish TV installation I lived with dangling wires for years because I didn't want to spring for an electrician to install a power outlet behind the TV wall mount. When I discovered a similar item at a local store, I searched Amazon and decided on this unit due to price and size. Once it arrived, installation was straightforward and easy. Biggest issue was the lack of directions about securing the stripped wire ends in the upper box. Once I figured that out, everything worked as I expected. Results are a very neat installation with reduced clutter. One downside is the tight space around the plugs for power adapters. This was solved by buying a short (1ft) extension cord to allow the power adapter to move away from the wall mounted outlet. 5How to make yourself feel foolish in ten seconds. A very simple solution to cable managment. Parts seem well designed and easy to install though not idiot proof. My own installation was a bit more complicated due to some factors of my home's design and my own failure to carefully read instructions before testing the components. Still, I was able to complete the installation and the PowerBridge is now working as designed and advertised. My advice during installation may be obvious but I made the mistake anyway. Prior to installation I inadvertently performed steps out of order playing around with the components before reading directions. I looked at the already stripped power cables that came with the kit and at the back of the larger power box and thought "I can't believe these little connectors can really hold onto the cables that well. The wires will probably slip out." As mentioned earlier, nothing is really idiot proof if you are determined enough and on this particular day my idiocy was unstoppable. I pushed not one but all of the wires into their coresponding connectors and discovered that those little connectors do indeed hold tight to the wires once inserted. So well that it seemed short of breaking something I would not be able to free them again. So I had to slide the protective back cover over the entire length of cable which took more effort and time than almost the entire rest of the installation. Don't do this. Read the instructions and install according to the provided steps and all will be well. If I had read them carefully, the instructions noted that you will want to slide the protective cover on before connecting the wires. Good product, looks great once installed and for those who read the directions first it should be an easy install. And getting some extra HDMI cables is always welcome. 5A Must Buy For Mounting a TV Fantastic system for cable management and mounting a TV cleanly. These are a must have if you are considering mounting a TV. Installs easily, instructions are sufficient, and the results look just like a professional did it. Could not recommend enough to someone considering to mount a TV. 5Fair Quality With A Little Tip I like the kit and the included items. The quality on the connectors/plugs could be better, but assuming it came out of production correctly, i.e. the wiring and solder is solid, it worked pretty well. It came with HDMI cables and that was nice. Do have a small level, screwdrivers, and a pencil before you start. You might have a drywall knife to help the precision cuts and edge cleanup.One thing I noticed during installation was that lever arms wouldn't release consistently after I placed the box in the wall cutout. The lever arms rotate on the inside of the wall when you turn/flip the screw, and then become secured against the internal face of the drywall as you continue to tighten. But if you loosen the screw up enough it will eventually have the right moments (torque) to release properly. A quick little flip can also help. I then carefully applied tension by pulling outward on the box to feel that the top and bottom of the box and lever arms to ensure they were properly deployed and secured against the drywall. Then I slowly tightened the top and bottom until it evenly was set. Do not over tighten - might crack. Don't loosen the screws such that the lever arms fall off! You will see it as you inspect the boxes and see how the lever arms rotate. 3Limitations by Design I bought this for exactly its intended use; hide my cables and cords for my TV and sound bar. I needed this design of a single inlet and dual outlet. However, buyers should be aware of a serious limitation. The inlet receptacle does not allow for furniture any closer than 2". This is from the straight-on design of the plug and the extension cord. I have tried different extension cords and a right angle plug adaptor without success. A better design would be angling of this receptacle, similar to the MyCableMart Wall plate: Flat Panel TV Power Kit sold by Amazon. If I could get the inlet in the angle version, I would swap it out as I am not 100% satisfied with the overall finished look of my project. 3Faulty product but once fixed it works fine **UPDATE** - About a month after installing this product I had to put in an additional HDMI cord in. When I unscrewed the outlet boxes from the wall I came to realize that ALL of the wings had broke which now means they can't be tightened back to their "clean and tight" state (pictures attached of how they look now). I am very disappointed about this and would love to get a refund but I highly doubt the company would allow that. I would not recommend this product and advise to look elsewhere.**FIRST REVIEW** - I had a fairly hard time with this product. It shouldn't have been as hard of a installation as it was but I was faced with a faulty outlet. After I looked into the issue further I realized it was the white wire that had come undone from the soldering inside the inlet (top) outlet box. It was a hassle to get it fixed, especially since I have very little electrical experience. If it weren't for this setback then the install would have been fairly seamless. And since fixing the problem and finishing the install, the product is doing exactly what it is intended for which is why I still gave it 3 stars. 1but I hate those things This thing was a lifesaver. Recently purchased a tv for the bedroom and the power cord isn t long enough to reach the outlet. Could I just get an extension cord with a wall mounted cord concealer? Sure, but I hate those things. The Power Bridge was very easy to understand and install.That said, if you have ever wired an outlet before then you re familiar with frustratingly firm wire to try and tuck behind the outlet. Same problem here, but you have to encase the wires in a small box that screws in behind the all-in-one wall plate. It makes everything tidy, but they give you no room for the cords. It s worh noting that if you don t install it right the first time then you re s**t out of luck and will probably need to get another one. That my only criticism. While very user friendly, it could be more wire friendly. 5The product itself is fine and works great The product itself is fine and works great, however there is one MAJOR design flaw. I installed this and all was fine, except I had to remove them to replace some cable and the second time securing them to the wall - BOTH swing arms broke on BOTH the inlet and outlet boxes, rendering the entire thing useless. I had to use some L brackets to temporarily fasten them back to the wall until I can find a better solution. I didn't even tighten them much. It's just thin plastic. Any slight pressure will snap the swing-arm anchors in half. If I could just get more swing arms to replace the ones that broke and vow to never take it back down again, I'm sure all will be fine, but as it stands I'm not a very happy customer. 1Buyer beware! While I liked the concept of the in-wall cable management (bought two) the quality is poor, surprised it received the NEC compliant approval. Per the photo the ear tabs which secure the box to the wall easily break off when attempting to tighten the box to the wall. I've been installing the blue "old work" gang boxes for years and never had the tabs break when tightening the tabs. Three of these broke, I used the blue tabs from a gang box to replace the broken tabs, the plastic used to make these tabs is too soft. Its sad because the concept is good but the product is faulty. If you buy this product add a few Carlon gang boxes to your order for spare tabs as you'll need them. 2Seems overpriced, but there's a good reason for this... While it was a challenge to feed wiring through the insulated wall, that's not the PowerBridge Solutions cable management system's fault.This is just what I needed, and yeah, it appears overpriced, but remember, devices like this must meet rather stringent UL-specs because running electric through walls requires many a regulation. I'd rather pay double what it appears it *should* cost versus wonder if the house is going to catch fire.The template for cutting wallboard is *perfect*. I was nervous, as this house isn't old, but it was an absolute breeze.Pro tip: When you use a fishing rod to get the wires through from opening to opening, put a sturdy piece of twine in there, too, long enough to make a loop. Make said loop when you get to the second opening, and use this to guide more wires through. Also, when you're done, don't remove this twine, just untie it, secure the ends to an already-fished-through cable at both ends, and now you have an easy way to put more wiring through, should you ever need to. 5
