Customer Reviews

I highly recommend this one. I'm using this unit with my iPhone 6.Pros1. Pairing it with the iPhone was easy2. Those who I call never complain about the clarity of my voice.3. Good volume4. It will announce who is calling if the person is in my contacts.5. I can 'ignore' or 'answer' a call by saying the respective words. This is a tremendous feature for when both my hands are occupied when a call comes in.6. The carrying case also has a built in battery for charging the headset.Cons1. A bit bulky over the ear so consider this when choosing this unit or your glasses frame.2. I have had times when it will not initiate voice commands. A power down/up sequence doesn't help. What I found does help is to toggle the volume up and down. Go figure. :) At least there's a solution. I haven't had the problem for a while now which makes me wonder if an iOS update fixed it.3. The sound quality is not good, especially when pitted against my BOSE headset and my iPhone's.4. The carrying case is a bit bulky.5. The cost is a bit prohibitive and I wonder about the value for money. 5love it! i have a lot of work related conference calls and i was tired of having my corded headset get in the way. I kept having a lot of people tell me that i was very hard to hear even with the mic next to my mouth. i also kept hearing a lot of echo in my calls via my laptop.i purchased this based on the great reviews i found and i could not be more satisfied. connecting it to my laptop was super easy, just plugged in the USB dongle and my computer found it within seconds. as for my calls, they are crisp clear and no one has complained about my call quality, they tell me it sounds great on the other end.the headset also pairs with my phone at the same time ( i believe it only connects to 2 devices at the same time). When i turn on my headset it announces how many hours of talk time are left on the battery. If you're in 'mute' mode for a while it will announce that you're in mute as a reminder and will also announce when you power it off. The buttons on the headset are very easy to find as well so no more pressing of any buttons for X number of seconds like the older/other headsets.I purchased this with the carrying case which is awesome because you can drop the headset in there to charge it. The case has a built in battery so it can charge your headset even when not plugged in to a power source (probably enough for 1 full charge). once you wear the headset a few times after a while you will almost forget that its in your ear since its so light.Overall im very happy with this headset, i can't believe i didnt purchase this sooner since i spend a lot of time on the phone for work purposes. 5Good headset though a bit pricey The quality of the headset is great, you cannot ask more there. I love the dock in which i keep on my desk for a quick charge. The magnetic pull on the dock sets it right every time and nearly yanks it out of my hand. People say I sound good to them and the volume i get from other is well received by me.The noise cancelling is not the best but decent. Good wind and I can certainly tell. Voice commands do not ever get confused with my phone which is a blackberry z10. I did have a m50 headset and that did have quite a few problems with "i do not understand" when giving commands while driving. Syncing to my truck with the microsoft sync was super easy and ever an issue. Fitting to my ear was easy and it sets in just fine. I am not super picky on this so maybe others will not like the big body sitting behind the ear. I used it 5 or 6 times and do not even notice it on anymore. I do like the advanced features that allow me to voice command answering, ignore and so forth when your hands are busy. The one star comes with the battery. This thing will eat your battery. If you spend a lot of time on the phone with this headset, be prepared to charge it. It doesn't take long but I have never had a headset that eats a charge so fast. The cost has to be in there as I have never paid this much for one. I was however tired of the cheaper ones just not lasting or poor voice quality. This one is expensive but you get what you pay for.update 08/05/2015 - Been using this for a while but I have noticed a few things that will not break the 4th star, but I need to report. Over time, I am noticing a lot more static in the call quality. Static may not be the proper wording, but call quality certainly is. Sometimes it just sounds like the old days when connecting through a terrible analog switch at the phone company where the persons volume is not good or something. Drop the connection from the headset and go to speak, just fine. This doesn't always happen but enough that I am noticing the issue. The battery has not gotten any worse but I can tell you, no better either. I still like the options for charging, especially the stand. Super easy to dock and when I see it on my desk, it reminds me to pop a quick charge to keep it fresh. 4Game Changer Purchased this for my home office as I spend more and more time working remotely and it has made a world of difference whether working or even taking personal calls. It opens up a whole degree of multi-tasking that I somehow never fully appreciated was missing when I would spend hours on the phone with one hand occupied. The sound quality is amazing with this as it truly enhances the sound beyond what it would be even speaking directly into the phone. The ability to tether this set to multiple phones at once is amazingly convenient. Sadly, when I work from home, I literally am tied to my personal cell, work cell, and a "soft" phone that connects my office line directly to my computer. So being able to wander around my place and take calls without having to be physically near any one of those sources is an incredible benefit. The set may feel somewhat loose against your ear but it always stays in tact as I will keep it on as I even do random handy work. The convenience of charging is another plus as I keep one charger attached to my office computer and then the additional charger in my living room so I can charge wherever I may be sitting.I would highly recommend this product, particularly to anyone that works from home, but really, for anyone looking for a high grade headset to use on the go. 5This has turned out to be an amazing headset! And a welcome relief from the Plantronics ... This has turned out to be an amazing headset! And a welcome relief from the Plantronics Explorer 395 I was using. It pairs beautifully and effortlessly with my HTC One M8, as it did also with the Samsung Galaxy 2 I had previously. The call quality is gorgeous! I've had several people comment on it. The noise cancelling works amazingly well! I have eaten a meal while on a call, and the person on the other end said they couldn't hear any of the noises, even with the mic inches from my mouth! I've used it while driving in my very old, very noisy (busted muffler) car, and received listener feedback that there was no effect on the call quality/listener being able to hear my conversation. I haven't been outside with it yet, so I can't speak to wind noise cancelling.Years ago I had the old Voyager Pro, so I already knew the comfort of this configuration - and wasn't disappointed! I forget I'm wearing it most of the time. As some people have mentioned, it can take a bit of effort to get the earpiece to sit in the ear canal snugly, but once you maneuver it in place, it stays put with comfort.Once I learned the new placement for buttons vs my old headset, the Legend is very easy to use, and intuitive. I love the ease with which I can mute myself, and change the incoming audio volume quickly. And one thing that I anticipated was more of a gimmick than anything, I have discovered I appreciate more than I realized I would: the voice activated call answering feature. It can be a bit annoying to hear "answer or ignore? answer or ignore?" in your head as the phone "rings", but I *barely* have to say, "answer" and the call is answered amazingly quickly! Makes it very nice for answering a call while I'm finishing up documenting a previous call. The Legend works wonderfully for Skype calls on my HP laptop (after some tweaking of audio settings both for the computer and for Skype). You have to fiddle around with the settings, to make sure you're using the headset mic and audio, but once you figure it out, it gives great sound. My boyfriend said when I switched from the laptop mic to the Legend on our Skype calls, it sounded like I was sitting in the room with him! :) I did have trouble trying to get the Legend paired to my wired desktop - sound was much poorer than with my Logitech webcam. I'm not sure why the difference in quality, but my PC is older and I'm still using XP, so these might contribute to poor audio quality when attempting to VOiP on the PC.I haven't used this headset much to listen to music or audio files, but the time I did, it worked fine - for a monaural device.I can get a good 4-5 hours straight talk time out of it on Skype calls before it tells me I'm getting low, and completed a busy, non-stop phone calls 5 hr shift with 2 hrs charge still left on the phone; it's also a very quick recharge. I haven't tested the stand-by time since I either put it on the desk stand or in the case when not in use.The case works amazingly well (and quickly for recharging), and I love the space for the Blu tooth dongle/adapter. I'm going to really appreciate this case when I do some air travel here soon. Since I bought this particular package, I'm feeling overwhelmed with recharging possibilities: the weighted desk charger (which I've really come to appreciate! soo easy to just grab and go), the case with charging station (and USB plugging capacity), the original little recharging piece (which I will probably never use), the USB/micro USB cable, and plug in unit. This means I have 3 different ways I can charge this headset, either wall plugged or USB plugge. A lot of bang for my buck with this one. :)Update 11/19/2017: After 3+ yrs now of continuous use (8+ hrs or more every day), this headset is just now beginning to not fully charge (5 hrs talk time vs 6 hrs), and starting to drop calls after about 5 hrs of use. I'm getting ready to upgrade to the new Voyager 5200, but this package was an excellent investment and I will still get use out of it as a backup. 5Mobility within mobility For the price, the Plantronics Voyager Legend UC was the perfect upgrade to my old voyager I purchased back in 2006. The call quality is actually very good compared to my old headset and the functionality is amazing. Here's a recap of why I like it:-Stylish and sleek.-Accessories in itself are worth it. The desk holder really displays the headset well and allows easy access for calls. The case actually acts as a battery pack! These accessories, especially the case, provides my mobile lifestyle with even more mobility. A mobile bluetooth headset with a mobile case?? Mobility x 2.-Battery life is very good.-UC functionality is important for my seamless integration between my iphone and my computer.-The voice-over is amazing. It is clear and concise and tells you battery life/talk time remaining, who's calling, full Siri integration, and more!-Price: Originally i thought the headset was expensive but it really has paid for itself in the functionality it has provided me in my mobile life style.-Business: It looks professional and is comfortable. I was able to help run a business with this piece while multitasking doing other things.Cons:-The price could be a con but if you get the accessories (this amazon item does), then it is more than worth it.-The headset fits well but is a little loose. I am not a large person so this piece sometimes gets loose when i do a lot of moving around. This isn't a deal breaker since I just have to make sure i'm not running on the treadmill when using this headset.Overall:Well worth the price for the headset and accessories. Bought another one since i liked it so much and wanted someone else to also enjoy it. The seamless integration with my phone and computer is something that I value greatly with this product. The call quality is great but can never be as good as the actual built-in microphone of the phone; however, it is very good for being bluetooth. Connectivity is always there and have never had a problem. If you are in the market for a professional bluetooth headset and the efficiency of a high quality company and product, this headset is definitely worth the investment. The customer support is also amazing and is more than willing to help with any problems or concerns you may have. I have my trust in Plantronics and have even purchased headsets from them for my business. Great company, great products, great lifestyle. 5Headset amazing, Bluetooth adapter that comes with it CRAP!! The headset itself is very good, the charging case amazing, the cables well made. Overall the product is well worth the price in quality and functionability. But and there is a very disturbing problem and it is the fact that the USB BT300 Bluetooth it is it is USELESS! And i have to include the review as part of the headset because it comes with it. Everywhere you plug in the USB will tell you on the headset that is connected to the computer but will not play sound nor enable microphone back to the headset ever!! I have tried anything possible and just wont work. If you purchase this product keep in mind headset beutifull, canles and charging stations and superb, just dump the useless crap bluetooth. Just use your computer built in bluetooth and pair the headset and will work, and if your computer does not comes with a built in bluetooth get a stand alone bluetooth adapter and set it up and then pair your plantronic headset and it will work. Plantronic bluetooth Is just not worth the try. Shame on you Plantronic. 4I am quite please, just a few very minor issues for me. Works as expected. I am quite pleased. Everyone can hear be clearly. Has a little issue picking up 'Answer' when call is coming in on cell phone. And it may be me not speaking loud enough. The UC part I use in Windows 7 for Lync and as PC speaker sometimes when I need not the whole world to hear. The software downloaded and installed for Presence Detect, etc. seems to crash quite a bit, but not a deal breaker. We use Lync extensively for con calls and basic communication. The only issue I have with that is if using as a PC speaker and communication device for Lync, it seems like I have the reset the Bluetooth dongle after Lync calls. Otherwise there is a constant 'beep' or something and drains the battery very quickly. I probably should have gotten the 'Microsoft' optimized version, but was reassured that this would work with Lync as well and it does. I just wonder if the 'optimized' version would work better?? The cell phone parts works very well. If you are planning to use it primarily as Lync device, may want to look at the MS optimized version instead. Not sure there is a big difference. 4Where's the noise cancellation?? The noise cancellation was severely lacking per my limited test. My call center recently swapped its remote employees from wireless headphones to USB connected over the head headphones. The ones provided are annoying and difficult to use so I wanted to replace it with this, buying it out of my own pocket.Upon arrival I tested it using my iPhone and having my PC play a YouTube video. I found that I could clearly hear exactly what the YouTube poster was saying when I wasn't talking at all and the speaker is about 18 inches away. When I was talking, I could still hear the video in the background, although not as clearly. I needed this to cancel out the rare event of barking dog, or doorbell ringing.I would recommend this if you were a mobile worker, meaning someone who's in the car or on the move a lot and doesn't have a Bluetooth device already. It could be a working mom, a driver, Realtor, or anyone that just likes to talk! I did play a song on it and wow it was surprisingly clear sounding. I'm one of those people that have awkward sized ears, I don't like things going into my ear canal as they are always the wrong size, but I did find this to be very comfortable.Pros:Carrying Case (Is also a charger!)Sleek designLightweightExcellent call qualityCons:No noise cancellation per what I can tell. 3It's a love-hate situation. It's a love-hate situation. This earpiece works great. Pairs beautifully with both my iPhone and my work phone. (I love that I can pair it with two devices.) Call quality is fantastic and the noise cancellation works extremely well. I love the case that it comes with (and I love that the case has room for both the earpiece AND the dongle) and the battery life is terrific. I especially love that the case has a separate battery that will recharge the earpiece and that you can charge both the case and the earpiece at the same time or individually. The earpiece does have a slight learning curve (I kept wanting to push the wrong button), but you do eventually get the hang of it. I really like that I don't have to push a button to answer an incoming phone call. All I have to do is say "Answer." Also, the voice dialing works great. So what's to hate? It is extremely uncomfortable! It actually makes my ear hurt. The piece that goes behind the ear is too big, which pushes my ear out and makes my ear sore. Perhaps if you were a larger man, it might be okay, but I am a small woman and my ears are close to my head. It also keeps wanting to fall off. It is too big and It just doesn't fit on my ear well. If I have to hold my hand to my ear to keep the earpiece in, it defeats the purpose of being "hands-free." I like the idea of having the behind-the-ear loop because it SEEMS like it would help it stay on better, but this one is just too big. The next time I purchase a bluetooth earpiece, I will definitely look for one with only a thin piece behind the ear. I highly recommend that you go to a store where you can try this on before purchasing.Note: I recommend that you go to the Plantronics website to see the pictures of all the accessories that come with this device. The single picture on Amazon does not do this device justice. http://www.plantronics.com/us/product/voyager-legend-uc#fndtn-overview 3
