Customer Reviews

Hard to install, does not include hoses, plastic spout A few people asked if this item is metal - the WHITE one has plastic spout. The body and lever are metal but the spout and the coupler that connects the spout to the body is plastic. This model is really old school and does not have quick connect attachments. For any DIY, it is really hard to get under the sink to tighten nuts with two wrenches. The hose connect was really bad as the stem below the sink is very short. I recommend connecting the hose prior to putting the faucet into the top hole, if you can fit it through. This item also does not come with the cold and hot water hoses so plan on using the old ones if they are not quick connect or getting a pair to install this. The faucet itself seems fine but I would not recommend this item due to the difficulty to install and lack of required hoses. Finally, the instructions were not very clear but the metal washer goes under the sink and not under the plate. 2Very good, but you will buy a bit more to make it work Like most plumbing, it would seem that faucet I buy never exactly matches the plumbing so I had to by about $25 extra in hoses with the proper fitting to make this work. I am not going to mark down my review of this model because of that. Its simply what happens when we buy plumbing items! Here is my review ....1) Valve. A very good valve with no leaks. Its easy to open and close the valve. 5 of 5 stars2) Professional feel. Everything is very smooth operating. 5 of 5 stars3) The Finish and looks. The stainless is very very attractive. The finish is awesome. With other appliances that I have purchased, the brushed stainless steel isnt as fine as I would like. This faucet has a very fine brushed look to it. There is nothing cheap or plastic about this unit. I suppose the sprayer hose could be nicer, but the black mesh is lighter than a steel connecting hose to the sprayer. I have no problem with the connecting hose. 5 of 5 stars4) Sprayer and faucet aerator. Both work exactly as they should. Further the sprayer has flexible nipples for easy cleaning. The aerator puts air into the solid stream of water which makes it taste better and it works as it should. 5 of 5 stars5) Installation. This is the only negative about this item. The connection tubes are very close to the main unit. So, its quite a reach to use tools to connect the hoses. Sorry, but I had to give the awesome faucet a lower score on that. 3 of 5 stars.6) Sprayer hose length. The hose works very well for my deep and very wide double sink. 5 of 5 starsAll in all it was a good purchase and I expect to get years of service from this faucet.***** Follow up 3/27/2014 *******Its been a few weeks using this new faucet and I have had no additional problems or issues other that what has been mentioned in the original review above. 4LOOKS GREAT - JUST DOESN'T WORK I really wanted to like this faucet. Installation was super easy and it looks great, but it simply doesn't do what a kitchen faucet needs to do. The water flow is an absolute joke. I get the "low flow" water saving stuff. But when you wind up using twice as much water to do the job you don't save anything!Thought maybe the nozzle head flow restrictors were too restricting - changed to a known great aerator - no improvement. Looked for kinks in the hose or if the tubing had gotten twisted somehow - nope. Then I noticed the inside diameter of the water hose - WAY TOO SMALL. No way can you ever get a decent flow of water with this one.Wrote to Pfister customer service after I gave up being on hold. After 5 days (case # 201803483096) they came back and asked for a picture? Still don't know of what? Who can wait that long or longer without a really functioning kitchen faucet? Decided to give up - took it out and returned it (thank you Amazon for your return policy).Save yourself the aggravation and avoid this product.UPDATE: 46 minutes after this review went "live" I rec'd an email from Pfister customer support saying they would ship me a new spray head if I still had the faucet. Interesting timing - where were you 5 days ago before I took it out again? Yes, it is way too late. Like a jilted lover, I've moved on. 1This is an excellent faucet (for it's price range) This is an excellent faucet (for it's price range). Some observations I want to share:I bought this faucet to replace an old, leaky one, which from the same maker and perhaps the same class (judging by their very similar look). The older one must have been 10, or 15+ years old -- it was there when we moved in this house ~4yrs ago. What impressed me the most when comparing both faucets was how significantly easier the new faucet was to mount. Here is the story: It took me perhaps 1.5 hours to unmount the old one -- largely because it was fastened from underneath the kitchen sink by a enormous nut screwed around the base of the facet. First I had to get back to the hardware store, to buy a bigger wrench to even fit that nut. Then I spend 40+ minutes unscrewing the screw itself -- because of the extremely narrow access I had behind the sink, the wrench could not grab the nut for more than a tiny little fraction of the nut surface. This meant, I had to position the wrench, make a tiny little twist and the wrench would slip off. And so, little by little, after 40 minutes, I managed to unscrew this nut.So you can imagine how relieved was I to see that the new faucet had a clever system, which had just two bolts, providing very easy access from below to fasten the faucet. It took me 3 minutes to mount the faucet with this system.Another observation: when mounting the faucet, the instructions recommend plumbing paste to seal the faucet base plank to the kitchen sink. I wish I knew this before I started mounting, so I did not have to drive to the hardware store yet again :)Last observation: The minor downside I find in this new faucet is the very high pressure of the water, when switched in spray mode. The spray has such a speed, that as soon as you put an object in its way, it splashes water all over the kitchen. I had to learn how to adjust that down. The older faucet did not have this problem -- it's spray mode had milder pressure. 5Updated review. Now 5 stars instead of 3. I love this faucet! It works well. Easy to control, wide range of warm water temperatures. Attractive modern look without the more common excessively high arch. Nice finish (the stainless steel finish goes well with my stainless steel sink). Gentle aerated stream and strong sprayer stream (which can be used without pulling out the sprayer). Usable with one hole or three holes. Frees up sink's fourth hole for other uses. The one design change that the faucet needs is an on/off button on the sprayer itself. My old, separate sprayer, was easy to use because you could turn a glass, or bottle, or jar, or water bottle upside down, and then turn on the spray by squeezing the handle of the sprayer. One needed one hand to work the sprayer, and one's second hand to hold the object that was being rinsed. With my new pull-out faucet, one needs three hands (which my body unfortunately does not have): One hand to hold the bottle or jar, one hand to hold the sprayer, and a third hand to turn the water on and off. Otherwise, one must choose one of the following three scenarios: (1) Turn the water on first (in gentle, aerated stream mode), place the sprayer under the inverted jar, pointing up, and then awkwardly press the button to turn on the wide spray mode. Or (2) Turn the water on first, turn on the wide spray, place the sprayer over the jar, pointing down, and rotate the sprayer and the jar upside down together, trying not to spray the walls and entire sink area in the process. Or (3) with the water off, place the sprayer, pointing upward, under the upside-down jar, and maneuver both the jar and the sprayer around the main faucet lever to try to turn on the water with a finger or side of hand, also trying to avoid spray the world in the process. And try to get enough leverage to press the wide-spray button. In all of these scenarios, one must be careful to not crimp the sprayer hose during the inversion, because it is not reinforced for stiffness. If the manufacturer were to add an on/off control to the sprayer head or sprayer handle, then handling the sprayer could be an effortless, one-handed operation.I do not know whether or not this is a problem with all pull-down and pull-out faucets. This is my first experience with one. My previous faucets had separate sprayers in a separate sink hole.UPDATE: After using this faucet for a year, I am updating my rating from 3 stars to 5 stars. For what it was designed for, this faucet is excellent. With the pullout, I can reach every square inch of the sink, and even a pot on the counter next to the sink. The sprayer is strong and wide enough to easily clean strainers and tough dirt spots on dishes (although its mist does get the top edges of the sink a little wet). The handle stays cool, even with the water on straight hot.My initial review was based on the fact that, previously, I had a separate sprayer (not attached to the faucet). I was used to being able to turn glasses upside down and spray them from below. That way, I had a continuous stream of fresh water spray that drained as I sprayed. A pullout sprayer is not designed for that application, but I found that I get along fine without needing to use that cleaning technique. The ability to place the faucet nozzle anywhere that I want it is a great feature that I never had before. 5DON'T BUY THIS! Last faucet (made in USA) lasted 20 years in a household of four. This one (made in China) lasted less than 4 years in a household of two. Troubleshooting instructions for how to remove the handle ridiculously impossible to follow. 1just love this one waited 6 years for a new faucet, just love this one.. I had a delta previously and that took longer to remove from the sink than the time it was to install this.. Plumber said it was at least 30 years old.. so I hope this lasts at least half that time, and I will be happy again. It's tall enough to wash the bottom of the dishpan off , or bottom of pans without pulling it out , and doesn't spray all over the counter.. my stainless sink is about 8 inches deep so no splashing.. and so easy to keep water marks off, I just wipe it when done with the dishes.. love this faucet. Oh, and plenty of room for my closet maid 14 inch cabinet sliding shelf to hold my cleaning supplies and no interreference with the weight or water lines. Couldn't be happier. Had this for three weeks now!! love , love, this faucet. 5Received a Leaky Faucet, new one also leaks After reading the reviews for this faucet and many others, I went with this one. It looks great and was easy for my handyman to install. Unfortunately, the black hose that holds the faucet itself leaks in a few places. Also, the washers aren't good and the connections are weak/easy to break. I now have water damage in my kitchen.I called the company and they are replacing the entire faucet under the lifetime warranty. They also opened an insurance claim so hopefully I will be reimbursed for repairs. I'm hoping the new faucet is functional. Will post an update when I have one.Update 8/27/18: Still working on the insurance claim. Received the new faucet and had it installed. The only issue now is it drips from the faucet, so there is one steady stream when it's on and then one drip off to the side. But it won't cause damage so I'm just dealing with it. I do not recommend this product.Update 12/6/18: No resolution on the insurance claim as yet. Apparently it was assigned to the wrong insurance company. It took 3 months for them to realize this and reassign to another insurance company. The other company is now doing an investigation to see if they are the correct contact for this claim. Will update again when I hear back from them.Update 1/16/19: The second insurance company was the right one, but they did not make me whole. They did not provide a reason but would only pay for 70% of the damages even after I appealed. I would recommend that no one buy from this manufacturer or use this insurance company (Zurich American Insurance Co). It's a crappy product with an even worse insurance company and I will never do business with them again. 1Much better than my old Delta Faucet I replaced this Delta faucet:https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003H49HFU/I replaced it because the diverter for the sprayer stopped working about 6 months after I installed it. After years of not being able to use my sprayer I finally got frustrated enough to fix it. A new diverter was only supplied with a new sprayer and hose, and that kit was going to cost almost as much as this faucet. I decided to get this faucet instead, I am very happy with that choice. My old faucet had several issues. All of the issues, aside from the failed/clogged diverter, were day one issues.-Lots of noises, squealing and hissing type noises. Also squeaks from turning on/off or moving the faucet.-Almost no mixture between hot/cold. It was either hot or cold, to get it to be warm I would have to tap the handle with the palm of my hand to move it in very small increments.-Very low flow rate and small stream-Would drip after turning off unless the handle was in a middle position. Turning it off while the handle was to the left or right would not fully turn it off. A drip about every 3-5 seconds would happen. It would be slow enough you may not notice.I have none of those problems with this faucet. Every bad thing about my old faucet is perfect with this faucet. It also came mostly assembled, so the install was really easy. This faucet was an amazing purchase. I was initially hesitant since it was about half the price of the faucet it was replacing, but I have no regrets. I'm glad I bought it. I've had it for one month with no problems. 5Perfect I ordered the faucet Thursday morning about 6:30. It arrived Friday afternoon about 3:30. Fast. I installed it two days later on Sunday. You will most likely need a basin wrench to remove the big locking nut from the old one. I have one, I ve done faucets before.TURN THE WATER OFF. Before doing anything. I turned mine off at the meter because I don t trust the valves under the sink.I After you remove the old faucet , you ll have a very good idea of how it install the new one.Install per the instructions. Watch a few YouTube videos if it s your first time. To install I needed 2 small adjustable wrenches to tighten water lines and hold the metal pipe. Just a note, the little black washer that goes in the spray hose end, is in a little plastic bag wrapped around the free end of the sprayer hose. Don t lose it, or pull it up into the spray head; when you pull the hose back out, it wil be hiding in there. Needle nose pliers to help spin on the round fasteners that secure the ends of the deck plate. Some plumbers putty to seal the plate against the sink, Teflon tape for water connections and a #2 Phillips head screwdriver. This is to tighten up the collar that holds the center of the faucet to the sink. You ll see. No more need for a basin wrench. And you may have to retighten the collar. The faucet should be rock solid on the sink when mounted. When your done, just barely crack open the water supply to check fo leaks. If all is well, stuff all the crap back under the sink turn the water supply on all the way, and enjoyI have zero issues, no noise, no leaks, excellent pressure, it looks great and the wife is happy. It took me just over an hour for the whole job. God luck, it s easy, take your time.2.19. 2109.Ok almost 4.5 months in, no problems at all. 5
