Customer Reviews

I love all of the Pelican cases and have and do ... I love all of the Pelican cases and have and do own many of the models for different uses. This and the others I have purchased for storing media cards are amazing! Airtight, just the right size and very protective. If you work with media cards and value your investment like my CFast cards that are over $800.00 each, I'd HIGHLY recommend these amazing cases! 5A nice upgrade compared to the previous version, but latch is too hard to open. A couple of years ago I wrote to Pelican and asked if they could make their memory card cases slightly bigger to allow more cards to fit in. Looks like they did, but they didn't make it as big as I was hoping. Still, now you can fit 6 CF cards into this thing. One thing I noticed from their new design is that the inner card holder is no longer rubber, but a stiff foam type material. From my experience putting the cards into the perfectly formed recesses, I found the foam might eventually wear out. Since this is new to me, I can't say for certain, so I will have to test it out and see. If there's an update to this review, you'll know something is up.The latch on the newer cases are now VERY DIFFICULT to open. In a way, that's a good thing, because that means your cards will be secure. The seal around the perimeter of the case also keeps out unwanted moisture, so if this falls into the lack closed, it will float and your cards will remain dry. This is great, especially if you're out in the wilderness, in a pond or swamp, or even in a rain-forest taking photos.Comparing the cases, I see that the new cases are about 10% larger, than the older 4-card version. I will upload some pics for you to see what I mean.Quality-wise, if you've ever seen the Pelican product testing videos, you'll know that they design these to fall from a great height and survive. These cases are durable. My only wonder, is whether the latch will eventually become more easy to open or not. Right now I have to use my whole hand on it to open it, whereas the older model only needs one finger.Still, I highly recommend anyone getting this, because it is well made, built to last and a great value when you consider what it protects (your precious images). 5Great For Protection and Organization Though this is not quite as weather resistant as some of Pelican's other products, it's still a great piece of kit. I was getting tired of losing track of multiple CF cards and having the single-card plastic carrying cases fall apart on me.This Pelican case fits six CF cards. While the cards can be a bit difficult to remove, I don't ever worry that they'll fall out if the case is not perfectly closed--that's great peace of mind given the rather high cost of fast CF cards. The case itself is easy to open and close in all weather conditions - I have no issues opening or closing the case with gloves on. 5I like this case I have both the SD and CF versions of this case. I keep them in my camera bag when I work, so I can switch cards quickly when needed. These are a good size to hold a number of cards. I have mine labeled so I know which case is which (look identical). Cases are solid and I've not had any issues with cards popping out accidentally, but I'm not really worried about that as long as the cases don't accidentally open (they haven't). 5Perfect for my needs! After reading reviews of how the mold change resulted in a less sturdy/durable version compared to the original series, I was reluctant. After receiving the case, I don't see an issue. While some of Pelican's products (such as their lid organizers) appear to be rebranded low quality, this case is still very much the quality you'd come to expect from Pelican.I'm a semi-professional photographer/videographer, and I have not had any issues with these cases.NOTE: I shoot with a 5D3, and since I use both CF and SD cards, I modified the case slightly by removing the one side of the self stick foam from the SD case, and and switched it with the corresponding side from the CF version of the case. Now I have to cases that hold CF on one side, and SD on the other. PERFECT!I would buy this again (if I could afford more 1066x CF cards! hehe) 5Will hold CF AND SD cards! Excellent memory card case. This most recent version is very sturdy and resistant to crushing. It looks like it would float. Latch is easy to open/close and seals tight. The cutouts for CF cards will fit SD cards in their cases. (See photo.) This is a good match for Canon DSLRs that have matching CF/SD card slots. 5Very Solid CF Card Cases - A Good Purchase This is a solid case for compact flash cards. I've used a number of the larger Pelican cases and have found the quality to be excellent. As a testament to how tough Pelican gear is, I've relied on Pelican cases to keep expensive camera and video equipment safe on some pretty wild multi-day whitewater rafting expeditions in the Idaho wilderness. My equipment stayed dry and free of sand for several trips which is saying something. These CF cases are of similar quality. They are if anything over-built for the task. The hinge and clasp are heavy duty and the protective foam is cut out perfectly to hod my cards securely. The plastic case is thick and comes with an O-ring seal to keep water and contaminants out.The cards are easy to access, the labels can be read easily and I'm confident they will be well protected. The only draw back I see is the cases are a little larger that some of the aluminum and plastic card "wallets" that I have in my collection. If you're really short on space in your camera bag or vest, that may be an issue for you. That's the trade off for a much more robust case.Overall, a very nice CF case and well worth the money to protect your expensive cards and priceless memories. 5this bad boy popped up in the "customers also bought My boyfriend and I have been professional photographers for 10 years, but never really upgraded our card cases from when we started. I had been eying a large Pelican case and when I was looking at that on Amazon, this bad boy popped up in the "customers also bought..." section. It wasn't too costly so I ordered one to test it out. I have carpal tunnel so I was weary of the "hard to open" issues many mentioned.Pelican must have either changed the opening mechanism/structure, or I'm much stronger than I ever knew. I liked it so much I ordered a second one! These open very easily (can do so one handed on the fly) but not so easily that they'd pop open on their own. After some rough handling and a few drops, they remained shut. They seem very sturdy, bordering on overbuilt. Though with a few 32gb cards, I'm more comfortable with overbuilt than flimsy. 5As sturdy as I expect from Pelican I have used Pelican cases for Camera equipment for many years. They have never given a reason to consider them less then the best. They are waterproof although I have never tested them to an extreme. Once I needed to float all the camera equipment (55 lbs) across a salt creek in an open plastic barrel in Louisiana while I swam with crabs scuttling around. That would have been a great test and would have been a lot easier than rigging an open barrel not to sink. They are tough. Mine have been tested under the rigorous TSA and Airline Mega-Maximum Gorilla Protocol endorsed by the International Luggage Builders Guild. Maybe there is not really a test. Anyway, scratches are all that can be found on the outside of any of the cases. To Summarize, this small Pelican case is built to withstand leakage and physical damage and can be expected to perform just like the bigger cases. Also they are designed to float like the bigger cases. 5Store six CF cards in one secure place Bought this case to hold CF cards since I'm always searching for them in my camera bag. In spite of the 0940-015-110 Micro Memory title this model is for CF cards. I had to call Amazon to verify. It works perfectly to store six empty CF cards (three per side). You can then determine which side will store the full CF cards so your images will be protected. The cards have stayed in their slots and have never come loose as some others have stated. 5The Best SD Case out there. Hello there!I have three of these and probably buy more in the future. This is simply the best case for protecting or simply organizing your SD cards out there as the title states. I have many other cheaper ones and this one stands out. I feel some other similar cases out there are just cheap copies. I would stick to Pelican if I have important pictures or data to protect.Pros:Sturdy build and feels very strong.Excellent quality and materials.Water resistant.Compact size. Also available for compact flash cards.Cons:Expensive compared to other look alike's.The outside of the box will catch scratches over time.Only comes in one color so far. More colors would make organizing easier. Also does not have a label area. (this is important for someone like me who has a lot of SDs and needs to label these cases). All in all, even with the cons listed above, I highly recommend this case as I have had these for years and they still look just fine and do the job as intended.I hope this helps.Regards. 5
