Customer Reviews

Excellent product, better than expected They look very authentic. These simulated candles are about as realistic as is possible. The remote control works well. The remote is super easy and simple to use. The candles automatically light up every night at the same time and they shut off automatically after 2 hours. Excellent product. UPDATE 6-3-2018. Alkaline batteries run these 6 weeks,x 7 days x 2 hrs per day = 84 hours out of a set of batteries. Doing the math, batteries cost about $1.00 each. You'll change the batteries 8 or 9 times / year. 6 batteries per set of candles. 6 One dollar batteries x 9 changes per year = $54 dollars annual running cost. 5Poor and inconsistent quality! Received this today so I can t comment on the durability and reliability of this product. However, I m very disappointed with the inconsistency of the three candles. One of the candles battery slot is so tight that I couldn t get the battery in while the other two were unreasonably tight to get the batteries in and out of the slots. The two candles that I was able to insert the batteries with force, one candle is dimmer than the other with full brightness. Though I like the warm glow color, sadly I m going to return them and would not recommend! 1Beware battery draining too quickly They look great and the settings on the remote are good options. However, the battery drains **extremely** quickly even when you have turned it off via the remote--to prevent that you need to turn it off manually. I have these in a nook that can't be reached except by ladder, which is the whole reason I got remote-controlled candles. They worked fine for the first fifteen minutes or so, and then I turned them off using the remote. The next morning only one out of the three worked, and the day after that, none of them worked anymore, even though I had them on for fifteen minutes. They work fine when you pop new batteries in them, but seriously--this has to be some defect in wiring design. It seems hinted at in other comments saying the battery life is short, but I didn't expect it to be that short. Keep this in mind if you're planning to turn them on and off only via the remote.EDIT: fiddled around with it, it seems like the batteries aren't even mostly drained, they can be used for other devices, even my wireless mouse. For some reason these candles require fully charged batteries and somehow continue draining them even when powered off via the remote. They should not be draining more quickly or more finicky about battery charge (while technically powered off!) than a gaming mouse. 2and reviews were good. But Returning these candles. I use lots of battery powered candles, but have never purchased the type with the "flickering flame". I bought these candles because the price point was much lower than other flickering candles, and reviews were good. But, the large candle didn't work, and the two smaller candles barely looked lighted, even with fully charged batteries. 1Pretty - misunderstood candle mode. These are pretty although I misunderstood how candle mode works. I thought the moving gizmo that looks like a flame could be turned off and not flicker -- not so. In one mode the candle itself glows, in the other (candle) it sort of pulsates a bit. I had a problem with the remote and the company quickly responded and offered a fix or full refund. I like the remote function and am happy with the purchase.v 4Poor Quality I liked the candles at first, they worked fine. I purchased them in April and only had 30 days to return. I tried to turn them on today and all I got was the flicker of the wick-no light. The batteries are fine. I have another brand that works just fine and I have had that candle longer. I find it ridiculous that I can only return them the first 30 days. That tells me that the manufacturer does not have much faith in them. I will never buy an OShine product again. 1I could not be more pleased Updated My husband was just telling me that these candles has changed the mood in the house. I agree, everything is so serene now. I have them on every night. They are wonderful to meditate in front of. I loved them so much I went and got lanterns to put them in and now my living room has been transformed. As of tonight, I have used them for a total of 31 hours. As you can see in my pictures they are still going strong. I have left them on the timer some nights and manually turned them off on others. I will try to remember to update their total hours before I change the batteries. Overall all I could not be more pleased with the candles.Update: I posted a picture side by side of how the candles look from when I first got them up to a total of 33 hours usage. I have been using them on average 2 hours for a little over 2 weeks. I must say I am impressed with how the batteries are holding up so far. I am using the Amazon brand batteries. These are not the rechargeable ones. So battery duration is a big issue with me. Again, so far its great. I will update again once batteries need to be changed and give total battery usage time.2nd Update: The last picture shows how 45 hours look compared to a candle in which I inserted new batteries for a comparison. Its been now a little over 3 weeks, at 2 hours a night and the candles are still going good. I feel no need to change the batteries now because the brightness of the candles is now a nice dim color. I am very happy with the duration of the batteries. I will update again with total battery usage time once I change batteries.3rd and final update: At 49 hours of battery usage I feel the need to change the batteries. They still have a little go left but for my taste I am changing the batteries.I took 2 pictures both without flash. The candles have been running a little shy of 1 month. I had no problem with timer etc. This has certainly been a 5 star purchase for me. I hope this has been helpful. Cheers! 5Great candles with all the bells and whistles at a GREAT price! I have been looking on some of the shopping networks for flameless candles that have the flickering, realistic light. Most of thos sites had VERY high prices and some didn't even the remote, or timer option . . . they want you to physically turn each candle off each evening. That wouldn't work for us; we have windows that are extremely high on vaulted ceilings - there was no way to physically turn them off each night. I happened to try Amazon on day and found these wonderful lights with all the bells and whistles. I only put candles out at Christmas so the real test will come then. We purchased two sets and tried them . . . they are impressive. Thank you e.m.a. co. Ltd. 5Head and shoulders better than typical LED candles These LED candles "Shine" for a few reasons1.) They are much brighter that the old-style LED candles2.) The remote is convenient for turning them on and off, even using them as emergency lights, without having to flip them over and move a physical switch. You can place them on top of high furniture or in an enclosed lantern and still turn them on and off remotely.3.) The flicker effect is amazingly realistic, but not obnoxious. From just a few feet away, you cannot tell the difference between this and real flame. Flickering is in the simulated flame tip, while the body of the candle provides a gentle continuous glow.5.) They use a pair of AA batteries rather than the typical button batteries. So battery life is many hours,Two things to keep in mind. First, batteries are not included, (except for the remote which is included) so get a pair of Alkaline AA's for each candle you buy. Second, remember that the electronics in the candle are always on so you can use the remote. So extend battery life by turning off the physical switch on the bottom when not used for a while. 5Most realistic and brightest of the 8 different brands I tried I like this one the best of the 8 difference brands I purchased off Amazon. Why I like these the best:- Real wax look from bottom and sides- I think these fatter 3" candles look better than the taller thinner ones- Magnetic field moves flame wick around creating VERY real shadows- Unlike some other brands that look identical, this 'wick' barely makes any noise (but is still not 100% silent)- Remote is great since you can mount them up high and out of the way- Love that you can adjust the brightness on these for more romantic mood or more functional bright light- Uses 2 standard AA batteries which should last a month or two of daily 2-4 hour use (based on other reviews)My only three minor complaints:1) The 'candle' mode flicker is very unnatural and annoying. The 'light' option doesn't flicker much but looks great.2) The magnetic moving wick does make a tiny amount of noise that you can hear if you are in total silence3) I wish the remote was a little more powerful as I have to point it at each candle to turn each one onJust ordered 3 more sets of these hopefully they are equally as quiet as the first set, unlike the competitor's look-a-like I bought the first time all 9 candles of which made lots of clicking noises as the wicks moved around ruining the peace of the candles. 5
