Customer Reviews

Cheap, good, works Purchased because our other shower head was producing 4.6 gallons per minute. This one does as it says, right around 1.75 per minute. There is a noticeable difference, but after about 4-6 showers, it becomes normal. Pressure is fine, stream is just not as strong. Installation took all of 2 minutes. Has enough tension in the swivel to stay where it's pointed, as opposed to just falling down after maneuvering it. Can pretty much guarantee it pays for itself after 1 water bill cycle, as least in my case. 5Great value This was my firs "low flow" shower head that I have ever purchased but due to outrageous monthly water bills wanted to try. I was pleasantly surprised! Not only because it was so inexpensive but as someone who likes to get blown away in the shower, I was not underwhelmed. Obviously this is not the type of pressure that I prefer but it was also not disappointing which, honestly, I really thought I would be. Now I am happy with my shower and with my water bill. I tend to take very very long showers so now I won't feel so guilty or spend the whole time worrying about my bill. This is a great value at both the front and back end. 5Can't beat it for the price and the potential for saving precious water! I'm went from a 2.5 GPM to this because our draught here in SoCal has gotten just worse. Since I'm a stay-at-home semi-retired housewife person I've also limited myself to 7 minute showers for the past year or so and now with this new shower head I don't know that I can do more to save water. If I had better water pressure I'd have gone the 1.5 GPM route but since I live in a townhouse where the water heater is in the garage and my shower is actually 3 floors above the garage.....that would not have worked well. This 1.75 GPM unit does a fine job......anything less would probably be a trickle; meaning a longer shower time and taking just as much water. For the price this is very acceptable - albeit plastic. Should last a couple years....hopefully.Thank you. 4Great shower head and cost savings I tried the 1.75 gpm version and I can feel that there is more flow. Rinsing off shampoo is faster and I can feel more water coming through the shower head. Whether or not the cost justifies selecting this one or the slightly more expensive 1.5 gpm is probably dependent on your usage frequency and how long of a shower you take. I think for most people that take short showers, the increase in amount of water used for the 1.75 gpm may not have significant enough difference in usage to affect the water bill. For those that take longer showers, it would probably make sense to pay more for the 1.5 gpm.Since there is a rubber washer in the attachment, I did not need to use any thread seal tape and was able to install the shower head handtight without any leaks. 5Reduces volume of water without a significant decrease in shower quality OK, I know that's a long headline. But what can you say about a shower head that isn't a little wordy? Showers are an important quality of life element, and a bad shower head can unmake your day, if you know what I mean.My problem was a small hot water heater, and an excellent non-low-flow showerhead from Speakman that allowed a torrent of hot water to come through unrestricted, depleting my meagre hot water supply too, too fast. But I love the spray quality of the Speakman - I've been using them for years. Nonetheless, something had to change. (And I'm not ready to buy a new hot water heater.)So based on good reviews, I bought this showerhead. It does what it advertises - reduces the volume of water to 1.75 gallons per minute without a big loss of spray quality. Did I notice a change? Yes, a slight change. But the spray wasn't reduced to such an extent that it was more air than water - I didn't get cold. And it was plenty of volume and pressure to quickly rinse shampoo out of my hair. And I had a longer supply of hot water with no threat of a lukewarm end to a hot, satisfying shower. Good product. 4I love it, wife so-so We've had this about four months now and I love it. It looks great, works great, has great pressure, saves water. Love it! The wife is so-so on it. She likes a little more water coming out. This is specifically designed to use less water so although the pressure is great the streams are thinner. She says it takes a little longer to get the shampoo out of her hair with it. Think she has gotten used to it though over the months. Yes, you will notice a difference using less water with this shower head, but it honestly isn't too bad. I never change it off the primary setting though, the pulsating massage spray is kind of a joke. I'd probably give it a 4 1/2 star rating, my wife would probably give it a 3 1/2 star rating, hence the 4 star overall. For the price it is well worth it and as a bonus we haven't run out of hot water since we've started using it. Don't know if I would go with the lower gpm rated ones though. 4Excellent shower head, incredibly inexpensive This is an awesome product and dirt cheap, unbelievable combination. I replaced all my shower heads with products from Niagara, over the years. If it were up to me, I would bring one with me to the hotels that I stay at. As a matter of fact, if I owe apartments, I would replace all the traditional cheapo ones with Niagara shower heads, which comes in at just about the same price. You can't go wrong with these. I have had them for years now. They restrict actual water volume flow but more than make up for that by adding air streams to the water streams. It's quite innovative, you feel that more water is coming at you than the builder's grade shower heads that use a lot more water. 5Fantastic investment so far!! I've had this showerhead for a little over 2 months now and I have been very pleased with it. This is the lowest-flow showerhead I've ever used, and at first I was afraid it wouldn't put out enough water to get the shampoo out of my hair, but actually I can't really tell much difference in flow compared to the 2.5 gpm one I was using before this, and it still gets me clean. In fact, it even solved the problem I was having with water leaking out through a loose shower door. Installation was super-easy--I just removed the old one and screwed this one on with no problems, and I didn't even need plumber's tape . Yes, it is plastic, but I don't think it's too noticeable, and it seems sturdy enough. I do wonder how durable it will be because it was so cheap, but I haven't had any trouble with it so far and I figure for $8 it isn't the worst thing in the world even if it does break. I've been recommending it to all my friends and family (who probably think I'm insane for getting so excited over a showerhead), especially since I live in California and we're in the middle of the worst drought in ages. So if you're looking to save some water (and some money), I would definitely recommend this little showerhead, and I would 100% buy it again myself. 5Works Better Than the 2.5 GPM It Replaced The rates for water where I live are very high so I had already replaced all of my sink aerators to ones that are lower than the standard 2.5 gallons per minute (GPM). I also replaced one showerhead with an adjustable one so I can use less water on that one. The other shower still had the standard 2.5 GPM and I wanted to replace that with a lower one, so I bought this. It was the lowest one I could easily find that still had the massage feature. It was easy to screw on and it is a durable product. I like it much more than the one it replaced because of the massage features. The only minor negative is that the showerhead is narrow so the spray is not wide. This could be an issue for a person of broad girth, but apart from that, this was well worth the money spent. 5Very solid, great price. No leaks. Very solid product - I use it in my rental houses. Easily changes spray mode and installs perfectly easily. Well made. Only thing keeping it from a "five start" is the construction is obviously chrome-plastic. However, that means there's less to rust ;) It's very lightweight though it appears to be made to last; time will tell (I have just been using it a week). I don't think I'd go less than 1.75 gallons per minute (they make 1 gpm, 1.25 gpm, 1.5 gpm, etc); however at 1.75 there is plenty of water and my wife with thick hair (male baldness is a blessing come shower time) says the water flow is perfectly fine for her to wash her hair. Nice product. 4
