Make some modification !!!It's very good to be lights so soft but when I install at lighting kit elastic strap it's slipped!!! Like pic. (2)I was makes hole under screwing hole like pic. (1)And cutting all sides to throw strap like pic.(3) to (6)Finally get great results to steady5Just RightThese are wonderful. They aren't too delicate and fit the CN-160 like a glove. I installed them on the Neewer 176 LED light panel. The 176 panel is a lot thinner than the 160 panel so the light box mounting system doesn't work at all. I fully expected this and was ready.Use a strip of 1/4 wide Velcro loop self adhesive around the outside edge of the panel as far away from the vents as possible. Use one piece around the whole panel. I used plain 1/4" non-adhesive hook side and sewed it to the inside edges of the hood. The added bonus is that the original elastic strap now works to further secure the box. They do an adequate job of diffusing the LEDs. I left on the clear panel with the boxes installed.5Works ok The overall quality of materials are good, the way it mounts however, is not. The modifier complements the 160 led light unit, the modifier fits poorly as its fastened by a velcro stretch band. The problem with the way it mounts to the led unit is that the modifier slips off when dimming, or adjusting the unit. It would be better to use stick-on, or sew-on velcro to mount the modifier. Other than that issue, with the plastic diffuse, and the white nylon diffuser, works well in shaping light on the subject. Because its made from rigid fabric, the modifier tends to collapse on its own, so it creates a vignette around the image. Had this been built with wire, or if the box was larger, this would've softened the light even more. Having the led light sit too closely to the nylon diffuser limits the efficacy of the modifier 3Neewer 5.9x 6.7 Inch Soft Box And A Neewer 216 LED Light, These Are Great Addons For My DSLR Video Shooting RigThis Neewer 216 LED Light And Neewer 5.9x 6.7 Inch Soft BoxIt was simple to install these on my DSLR Video Shooting Rig, I also added a Neewer Softbox using some super Velcro to help keep in in placeInstalling the Soft Box was a PITA with it's simple strap, Super Velcro was the way to go, It won't fall off and even move any now.I Had order 2 of these Neewer 216 LED Lights, One to also keep in my portable studio bag just in case I need more lightI also ordered 2 of the DSTE NP-F750 Replacement Li-ion Battery for Sony for more Lighting timeI am very pleased with this purchase from Amazon and Neewer, I use a lot of Neewer photography and video gear in my work, and have always been a big fan of their productsI would strongly recommend buying these Neewer Soft Boxes,By Kurbster Photographykurbster.com5Cheap but works well enough I like that it's inexpensive and makes a difference when you use it with a really bright light. Makes the light seem softer on your subject. I bought it for the portable LED light I ordered to shoot using my DSLR. I find it hard to wrap the velcro strap around the led light to secure the diffuser. I think there should be a space at the back enclosure to accommodate the hot shoe mount attached to the led light. Or some other way to secure it better would be a good feature. Giving this 4 stars. 4reflective interior and good diffusion without much light lossWell made for the price, reflective interior and good enough diffusion without much light loss. The key to this box is softening the banded shadows created by LED panels and cutting down the harsh quality of unfiltered LED. It does that job well. Metal frame is stitched in. Great collapsible design and the bag is a nice touch. I bought this for my Dracast LED160 and it fits, barely...but does the job and stays on thanks to the elastic band with velcro. I do not find it "fiddly" as one reviewer noted, but i have a different light that doesnt have smooth plastic edges...the Dracast is an aluminum housing with square corners that help keep the softbox snuggly attached without any give to speak of. It just doesn't fit like a glove (literally about 5mm too small to slide completely around housing), but at $11 it is awesome.5I use this every time I film my videos. I purchased this product because I only have one soft box light and I needed just a little more light for my videos and I am so happy I did. This little soft box works great, it softens the light and makes the product I am reviewing look a lot cleaner. The light itself gets really bright so if you prefer the brighter light you wont need this but it does add a better color to your pictures and videos. I use this every time I do a product review video and I am very happy with it. It does come with a pouch to keep it in so it doesn't get ruined while it's in your camera bag, so that does come in handy. It also has a valcrow strip that you will use to secure the soft box to the light itself. For the price I don't see why anyone would not buy this product, I promise you will use it more than you think. 5Great Value To Buy As A Set...BUT...The subject line says it all, to buy the individual colors will cost a lot more money, so buying them as a set made a lot more sense. They are a tremendous value. The one issue I have is they are a royal PITA to get attached to a light, using a wrap-around velco strip to hold onto place. Once you get it on and in place these work well to soften the light.4Great Softbox; Bad Velcro Strap Great addition to the Neewer LED Light. This is a really great accessory to have with your light. It has been useful in a lot of different situations, where i've needed to have really bright light, but with a softer tone and it works perfectly. However, this product is a little on the cheap side, as other reviews have stated, the velcro attachment band is a pain. I've never really gotten it to work right, so when I put this on the light I normally use a little bit of gaffer tape to hold it in place on my rig. But once you have it in place it really works as it's intended and since it's priced decently cheap I still think it's worth picking up and having around just incase you need it. Things like these tend to always come in handy. 45 starsGot this to go with my cn-160 from the same company. Pretty nifty idea. Goes on easily and can change the color of the light with the filter things that came with it. Pretty cool accessory.5Needed to Modify to Make it Work This does do a good job of diffusing the light, but it was hard to to fit securely onto the video light that I had. (I do have a video light that is a slightly larger size than the one from Neewer.) I had to modify the product. The diffuser comes with a has an elastic strap that wraps around the open end and hooks onto a piece of velcro in order to secure it to the video light, but my light was too big and it didn't fit right. I took that strap, cut it into one-inch lengths, and then glued those using fabric glue to the corners. There were already slits at each corner, but I made them slightly bigger and used fabric glue to secure them. I am not sure that was necessary. I also cut a hole in one side for the mounting screw to fit through. Now it works great.Eric of Elaine&Eric 3Read if you're using the Neewer 176First, this light wasn't made for the 176, so it won't fit. I've attached some photos. There are two problems with this. The softbox will not attach because the 176's edges are smooth, so there's nowhere for it to grip. Also, when using the included cold shoe adapter there is no room for the softbox to attach either. The only way to attach this to the 176 is to use some strong tape, or to sew something to allow it to fit. Just putting it on, it will fall off immediately, if it even goes on at all. I own both the 176 and the 160 so this wasn't a deal breaker for me, but if I only had the 176 I would return this.It will only fit on the 160, although not too easily. The fabric part that touches the light doesn't have a lot of grip, so it doesn't want to hold too well. Other than that, it works okay. It would've been nicer if it was built specifically for the light - perhaps with some hooks - and not made as an afterthought.People complaining about it reducing the amount of overall light don't know that's what a softbox does, no matter the brand. As a softbox, it does a nice job and makes the light much softer and bearable for filming.3Easy to put on and take off.Really simple design that works. I use it on my cn-160 and it holds in place for the most part. Love how easy it is to put on and take off. Folds up for easy storage, which is a plus. Really nothing bad to say about it!5Not perfect, but for what it is, it's the best option. The diffuser's are about the only option you can buy that fold up and are made with the 160-214 Led lights in mind. They are not perfect, but they do what they need to do reasonably. I did some tests I may post and it does make the light less hard on the subject, even more than the diffusers that come with it. Since it is further away from the source it makes sense it would be more ideal then right against the LED. That also is part of it's limitation, it's small and only sits a few inches from the led. Don't expect it to compete with a bigger softbox, it's just not how this kind of thing works. Like getting a small hammer for nails to hang pictures in the wall vs a hammer when building a house.I personally have s small space and wanted portability, so figured the trade offs were worth it. They fold flat and the lights can even go in the bag when being stored. It folds in They keep popped up and there is a wire inside around the diffuser that keeps it's shape. Now if you are trying to imagine what they feel like, imagine a thin reusable lunch bag, the kind with the shiny insulation material on it, it doesn't feel premium, but for the size/ weight trade off if it holds up that's fine with me. It looks fine.. Some stitches may be loose, crooked, etc. not terrible or coming apart in the ones I ordered. The diffuser material is sewed into the front.Researching before purchasing I saw almost every review complained about the strap that goes around to attach it. At first I thought it wasn't as bad as they said, but then I went to move my lights and it fell down, on the stand and trying to fix it was a frustrating nightmare. If you get these, make sure you get velcro and take the time to velcro along the edges to give it a better attachment. Just using the strap is going to make you unhappy. After trying to make a bulb/umbrella light kit work with my home studio I decided to try using my LED's I had instead. Happily I preferred that they were small and adjustable, used batteries and packed in my bag if I wanted to take them to go. I decided that I wanted a diffuser and found these to be the best option. There's room for improvement, but they were the best I could find for what I wanted.4VERY BIG IMPROVEMENT -- Needs one modification to be great. The Good:The small CN-216 (forget about the 160, the new 216 is what you want) is a fine on-camera light, but because of it's brightness (and harshness), it tends to create very nasty looking light on your subjects, and at full tilt it's going to blind anyone that sees it even indirectly. This soft box does a LOT to improve the quality of light thrown off (at the expense of about 1-2 stops of light loss). In fact, it's pretty miraculous as usually I find these small leds too dim for large area use, and too bright and harsh for close up use.The box also folds up very nice, easy, and flat. You can actually fit the CN-160 or 216, or 126 (all are the same housing) in the bag the softbox comes with as long as you don't have a large sony battery inserted. The "bad" (or needs a small modification):I'm knocking off a star for this, but I'm also going to give you a fix.The softbox is an afterthought. No doubt about that. There is no real place for the softbox to attach to on the light, and so their solution was to cut the box to the size of the light housing, and put an elastic band that wraps around it to hold it on.Problem is, it's very difficult to quickly attach the softbox and even the slightest bump WILL knock it off the light. It's a horrible solution for mounting the box. It may also affect long term cooling performance of the light, but we'll ignore that for the benefits it gives.THE FIX:Get some adhesive velcro, attach some to the light "mounting surface" and some to the soft box (probably put a few stitches in this part for good measure). Now it's much easier to attach the softbox and you can use the elastic if you wish to help secure it on a little better. Not sure why they didn't just do it that way, but if you do that -- you'll love what this adds to your little CN-216 or CN-1604
