Customer Reviews

Use common sense! I had to write a review because a lot of people are bashing this product for their ignorance lol. I knew when I purchased this that it was not going to come with a stand, and a strobe light included all for $16 bucks, like seriously guys? Really? But this product is great, everything that suppose to come in the box, came. I knocked it down to 4 stars because it did not come with instructions, but thanks to good'ol YouTube I found a video that helped me assemble this. 4Product Photography. Works Great!!! This is an awesome softbox! There's not much to ask for a softbox other than it softening the light and it does that perfectly!Pro:Cheap.Sturdy.Looks durable.Works Great!Con:Doesn't say "expensive" on the side of it.It works! Is it portable? No, I mean you can take it built as is from one place to another but it isn't meant for traveling from shoot to shoot while being broken down. I would assume you'd put some wear on it. It looks durable. Doesn't look like it was meant for travel, but I do product photography and some portraits so everyone comes to me, thus me not moving this around THUS it's not traveling. I'm currently looking into a softbox that can travel and I will pay more for it because you're paying for convenience. But as far as soft box goes this works great. One thing to remember is the sizes you need, don't get a small box for big objects as it loses the point of the soft. I got this with the Neewer C180W strobe and just attached it, works amazing together. As far as instructions... use common sense. If you're not naturally a builder kind of person just YouTube it and someone as posted the instructions. 5Exactly what I expected. Extremely great value This is a great budget softbox. It came with a nice carry bag and everything broken down. Didnt come with instructions, but just by going back to the amazon link for the product and looking at the pictures I was able to get it put together pretty quickly. (seriously, it isnt rocket science and not difficult)worked great! can use with both softeners or just one for varying light. Definitely recommend this product. Extremely great value for the price. So great I purchased a second right after trying out the first. 5For around $21 each I have 2 wonderful studio lighting I don t know much about these but I purchased 2 of these to help me with softer lighting for my videos. I am not using it with professional light but with round clamp lights I purchased for around $9 at a box store years ago. For around $21 each I have 2 wonderful studio lighting.*Like the rest of the reviews stating they are not the easiest to setup it s more because there are no directions but what the video that one someone else posted then setup is farely quick and easy. 5Excellent low-cost small softbox This is a 20" x 28" inexpensive softbox that really can get the job done. It does not come with directions and none are needed if you've ever used a softbox before. I was a little worried about the universal softbox ring it comes with because it is smaller in diameter than the industry standard rings, however my Photogenics ring worked. The box does get stretched taught and the velcro won't close in the back so light can spill out if you care and don't tape it shut. The internal diffusor is similar to other softboxes I've used and works just fine. My external diffusor fits over the outside edges of the box so it doesn't look as nice as the photo. The color seems to be neutral. I bought this to use for a hair light and it looks like it really will work for $16. 4Love the product. Hate the assembly. YES THIS FITS NEEWER 250W. I bought this without knowing if it would fit my strobe but it did. I wish it was easier to put together. There aren't any directions, but it's not hard to figure it out.The tough part was getting the 4 rods in the small corner pocket things. I thought I was gonna break them because they were so hard to bend, but with a little strength (and help from my mom) we got all 4 rods in, attached the diffusers and put it on the flash. 4Durable and Quality for Price I love this soft box and I have purchased additional ones. It works perfectly with my trigger system purchased of the same brand. I have been able to create some beautiful photos with my models The lighting was gorgeous. I definitely would recommend this to anyone. It is not too hard to put together Could use a few directions for first timers but other than that its wonderful. Definitely grade A for low budget and durable. 5Good softbox for the money. This is quite a pain to put together. It's not difficult to figure out, but some instructions would have been nice. The best suggestion i can give is when you get it, go back to the product page and look at the pictures to help you get it going. The rods are quite stiff and they go in tight. Most notably the last one will be quite hard to get in. Not sure I would want to take it apart and put it back together very often. Overall it's a good product. The only problem if you want to call it that is the bag it all fits in. Some of the letters on the bag were either rubbed off or not printed completely. Really not a problem since i doubt i will take it apart much. 4light box would have liked it to come with directions, especially since i'm a noob and i pulled all the stuff out and thought 'wtf am i supposed to do with this crap?' granted it is mostly self explanatory once you take a proper look at it, but i thought i was gonna break the rods trying to bend them into the proper position. would've been nice to know that you're supposed to be a little forceful with it. 4Excellent performance, qualilty and price This item performs way above its price level. As with many similarly sourced products, it is cheap, but it also meets just about any expectation you may have, other than ease of assembly and documentation. In the end, it can be used in all but the most demanding professional environments. The light produced with this softbox is very evenly diffused and creates a pleasant, soft illumination of nearby objects. It is meant to fit monolights with a front rim between 80 and 100mm, but ultra-budget-conscious photographers would be very pleased to know that it can also be used with the super-cheap AC socket slave strobes, such as this $17 unit: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00AXNABDA/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and it will produce a much softer light even than a white translucent umbrella - and for less! If you don't believe this setup works, just see the attached photos. I should also stress that the optical slave synchronization of the AC strobe triggers just fine being deep inside the softbox. This, of course, when used indoors, where you would want to use an AC strobe. I plan to make an adapter for use with a Speedlite outdoors, like they have for Bowens mounts [https://smile.amazon.com/Photography-Speedlite-Reflector-Umbrella-Universal/dp/B00MVGJLWO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1473876809&sr=8-1&keywords=speedlite+softbox+adapter], but better (would not put any stress on the flash body). The unit is portable in the sense that it is small and lightweight, and it folds to a very compact package. The one issue with this product is that it comes without any documentation and the assembly could turn out to be very challenging for most (as evidenced by the large amount of "used, like new" offerings from Amazon Warehouse). If I find the time, I'll amend this review with a video of how to do that. It takes 2 minutes to do it, once you know how. As long as you haven't already damaged it trying to do it the wrong way.I highly recommend this softbox to all photographers on a super-tight budget and who are technically inclined, as it can be a challenge to deal with it. 5
