Great for VR setup I use these for my HTC Vive lighthouses (part of a VR setup). My living room is too large to wall mount the lighthouses permanently, so I got these to be able to set the lighthouses up at a closer distance. Unfortunate to have to set it all up every time I want to play, but that's no fault of these stands. They're really quick to get set up each time, and with a ball head these are absolutely perfect for the setup. 5Great mounts for your Vive sensors After picking up an HTC Vive, these were what I chose to mount the sensors on. The price is right, about $30 when I bought them for a set of two, and they feel and look sturdy. You'll need an adjustable mount so you can point the Vive sensors slightly downwards if that's why you're buying these - another $5 will get you a set of two ball mounts that pair perfectly.I also had a worry about them taking up a ton of floor space, but the tripod is really well designed and doesn't require that you extend the legs fully to have a stable surface. I'd estimate around a foot of circumference, maybe a little more is necessary (just enough to get the center leg connector to touch the floor, kind of like what the image shows). All in all, great stuff! I wish there was a carrying case or something, but given the absurd prices I've seen tripods go for, that's hardly a concern, I can pack them in a plastic bag for that pice. 5these work great and height is adjustable to 10 feet Bought these for the HTC Vive sensors. photo tripods were too expensive, not tall enough, and had a wide base. these work great and height is adjustable to 10 feet. i used the adapter piece below to screw on the top. sturdy for indoor use and easy to travel with. base is only needs about 3 feet.EXMAX Tripod Mini Ball Head for DSLR Camera Camcorder Light Bracket Swivel 1/4" Screw 5Great for my Vive. I bought these to hold up my Vive base stations. For that, they've been excellent. They don't magnify vibrations, which I know some people have been concerned about. Just make sure you buy swiveling ball mounts too, the mounts on these stands don't swivel. 5Perfect for htc vive vr Got these so I could setup vive without perm mounting the base stations. Also plan on extending wires later on and using in garage for even more play space and want to be able to move back and forth. The are nicer then expected for price. Came fully assembled. Setup and take down takes seconds (moving the furniture before play takes longer). They extend a full 9ft and are sturdy and made well enough for this use. When I'm done I just lower them and stick them into the pc room. Was able to get a full 13x13 ft play space setup in 10 min including moving furniture. Perfect. You can adjust the feet wider and sturdy or narrow and less space.Got these to go with so i could angle the vive stations downwards as required https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B012FTXOW4/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1 5Sturdy and great value for the price We use these for school photography so they get heavy usage on a daily basis. They are tall and sturdy so they hold alien bees, novatron lights and backgrounds without issue. The only downside is that after heavy use the screws that hold it together start to strip and fall out. The screw on the bottom of the tripod will be the first to go. For the price they are a great deal - if you are going to set them up and tear them down frequently just know that they will probably wear out within a year or so. 4If using for HTC Vive be sure to purchase Tripod Mini Ball Heads separately! Purchased to mount HTC Vive sensors on. Great deal for a set of two! After receiving them I realized that we also needed the brackets that have rotating balls in them to be able to angle the sensors correctly...after that additional purchase everything works great.https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M07M9D4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 5including similar units like the Pet Cube I'm not really sure about big clunky cameras that everyone seems to be griping about here, but I got this for the described use of 'HTC Vive' and they work perfectly for the camera units, including similar units like the Pet Cube.If you're a gamer with an HTC Vive or have a similar small bottom mounting unit, and need stands that won't break the bank, these work awesome! If you're a professional photographer, I dunno, seems these made other photographers angry. You get what ya paid for when it comes to a professional job, I guess. 5For 99% of cases it's fine, but if you are using it for a ... I got these for my vive; and I am still using them. I have to say though that you should probably look elsewhere if you are using them for your vive. The reason being that the tightener to keep the base legs narrow is badly designed and cannot really keep the feet stable on a narrow footprint. For 99% of cases it's fine, but if you are using it for a vive, then it is probably taking up part of the play area, and not being able to keep a narrow footprint stably is just annoying. They seem decently well built; are stable on a wide footprint, but on a narrow footprint they just slowly drift out of place because you can't really tighten it enough. 3very wide spread at bottom feet, which is good. I was expecting horrible flimsy stands, that you could topple over just by blowing on them. Instead these are quite light weight however they have a huge spread at the foot. The fact that the spread of the 3 legs is very wide, makes these stands quite hard to topple over.I also own about six PBL stands, which are much heavier and better built, however these neewer stands are not bad at all. These stands are little bit like "Target" "expect more and pay less". 4
