    bright white light helps me feel awake in the morning so I can sleep at night great lamp. got it to help my circadian rhythm and mood as the fluorescent lights make my desk feel so dark in the morning. also got a lucky bamboo to help brighten the place up and it seems to be doing ok so far with the light. 5Awesome for My Dark Office and Tired Eyes! I found myself in a dreary, dark office after a recent relocation. Depressing, sure, but it also started causing headaches after staring at computer screens in mild darkness for 9 hours a day. This lamp does the trick! I have it pointing, at an angle, at my two monitors. It provides a very bright, but rather natural, light that I can easily work to without distorting my monitors' colors or resolution (note- my monitors have matte screens- obviously you'd want to be careful if you had glossy ones, as the glare would be a problem). I often don't even realize this is on due to the natural quality of light, but the second it's turned off, you can see the difference!The articulating head works just fine at any angles- mine's rather contorted and I don't have any issues with it staying in place. 5This is the best deal around for beating the blues. I had open heart surgery in October, 2015. Little did I know that 70% of all men who undergo such a procedure, requiring the use of a heart bypass machine experience major depression thereafter. As you might expect, this magnified my seasonal affective disorder, grinding my emotional state to a mere nub, at times, leaving me paralyzed with the blues.I kid you not: this little desk lamp is a lifesaver.I had purchased this prior to my surgery, to get me through the sunless days of winter, but it really was a well-used and loved addition to my in-home office for months. I ordered this light for my boyfriend because his room lacks a lamp that has a cover. The light bulb illuminated his room too yellow and it also hurt his eyes when he looked in that direction, so I wanted to get him a light that didn't hurt his eyes, last long, and created a natural lighting. The product came within a week and was in perfect condition.I have researched on lamps and lighting and as many of us may know, lighting can really affect how a person can feel. Even alarm clocks promote a gradual light change so that a person can wake up naturally feeling more refreshed. I was hoping that his lamp would reach that expectation based on the reviews on amazon.When I turned on the light during the morning, I couldn't tell if the light was from outside the window or from the light. It was SO natural that it didn't have that neon white look and it wasn't bright that hurt the eyes. We waited until night time again to try it. When lit up during the night, the lamp made the room look like it was morning. He had no problem looking at it and it gave a lot of positive energy. It made reading, working, and just almost everything more refreshing.I would recommend this lamp to anyone looking for a long lasting bulb, decent pricing, natural lighting, and a change in your overall energy. My room is also too yellow. 512 years old and still working like a champ Next month I will have had this lamp for 12 years. There were periods where I didn't use it very often (worked out of an office, so no need for my desk lamp), but over the last couple of years I have worked from home exclusively and this little guy has been put to work. I live in the Pacific Northwest and the months from November through May can be pretty dreary. This lamp illuminates my desk far better than the glow of my monitors or the lighting from around the room, reduces eye strain, and makes the dark days a little brighter (pun intended). I have yet to replace the bulb, but it's great to see that this model is still being sold and replacements are still available if needed. As others have mentioned, the lamp's base does have a large footprint, so it takes up a bit more desktop real estate than I would like, but that doesn't make me love this lamp any less. It's not fancy (I have the black plastic model), but it blends in with my black monitors and computer/network hardware just nicely.If you're looking for a nice, bright lamp that will help you see your tasks, hobbies, reading, etc., and don't mind choosing function over form, look no further. 5Very good light, bright and almost identical to north light ... This desk lamp has been a pleasure. Below, I list several strengths and a number of limitations. In my experience, the strengths greatly outweigh the limitations.Appearance and construction:The lamp's outer components are designed, manufactured, and put together well. Upon opening the package, it was obvious that the material is of high quality and durable, and it was obvious that the lamp wasn't going to scratch, start peeling, or fall apart as many cheaper products do within weeks of usage.Performance:The nature of the light source is such that the light is, indeed, pleasant to the eye and appropriate for reading, computer work, and so forth. The emitter generates more heat than an LED light but less than an incandescent light bulb.Miscellanea and Limitations:This lamp is best suited for a relatively large desk or table. At 26" tall, it has a sturdy base, and it will look too large or even clutter a small study desk. The button is located on the lower side at the junction between the lamp's "head" and the goose neck. Depending on where you position the lamp, this may become inconvenient. For example, I keep mine sticking out from behind my desktop computer monitor, and it is somewhat hard to reach the button to turn it on. The goose neck is only partially adjustable; I was expecting more flexibility, but I also realize that there is a tradeoff between stability and durability vs. flexibility, and it seems that the designers chose to favor stability and durability. 4Nice desk lamp at a very good price. I build automobile and railroad models as a hobby. I have a circular fluorescent magnifying lamp, but at my age I needed some extra lighting to augment what I had. At age 69 I welcome it. This excellent desk lamp has filled the bill with nice white ambient lighting. It is attractive, not too big, adjustable and doesn't take up a lot of room on my work table. The base is heavy enough so the lamp is stable and doesn't tip over. Simple assembly consists of just plugging the fluorescent tube into the lamp's socket. Very happy with it and the price was right. Entire purchase transaction was perfect for me. 5This lamp will illuminate your life! I wouldn t know what to do without this special sunlight lamp! It makes all the difference in the world softly illuminating my reading. Would be good for that and any other use that would benefit from brilliant clear light. This is my second sunlight lamp, and when I had to order a replacement lamp after years of use, I was lost without it until my new one arrived! Treat yourself to this special lighting, you will see and appreciate the difference! . 5If regular lighting is insufficient, this lamp helps a lot I am up in years and suffer a vision problem known as macular degeneration. None of the regular lights in our home, up to and including 150-watt bulbs are bright enough for normal reading functions. I use this lamp on my business office desk to light the papers I am using with my computer work. Excellent output, helps greatly with my vision problem. 5
