    Stout Mount compared to the competitors Great mount. I typically buy mounts that are in the ten to $12 range I won't be doing that anymore. This amount for approximately $20 is a phenomenal deal. Compared to other two arm mounts that I have purchased this one is very Stout. I also like how it has tons of extra mounting holes. The teardrop mounting hole in the middle makes hanging a TV very easy. I used 3 for a triple monitor setup. This gives me the freedom to position all the monitors exactly how I want. 5May need longer screws! We needed a mount for a small TV in our "loft" area. This worked out well since we were using a pair of the "rocker" style floor gaming chairs. We are able to tilt the TV down so the angle is comfortable for the person playing the game.After a few months, the TV is still in place and everything seems to be holding tight.One item that we had issue with was the instructions call for mounting the bracket on the wall, then attaching the TV. We had to disassemble the bracket, attach it to the TV, then attach it to the arm. It was much easier that way as there is one screw holding that part together and you can easily make it fit.The screws that came with the mount were not long enough to support our TV (which is a 32"). As a result we did have to dig up a few longer screws to make it work. 4Solid, versitiile mount This is my first wall mount and I was a bit worried about my TV falling to the ground and ending up in an expensive mess, but after getting it set up I don't think it's going anywhere. I'm using a 32 inch TV, so admittedly it's not a lot of weight on the mount, but it is rock solid. I like that I can use a single stud to mount it on the wall. The provided wall screws are very thick and there isn't really any possibility of them failing and the metal used is fairly robust and not at all flimsy. Included are four different types of mounting screws so it will most likely fit any TV on the market. The mount articulates in so many ways that getting it in the exact right spot wasn't an issue and once there it held firmly in place. 5Works great for us, but... We are happy with this mount. The only complaint (albeit a minor one) is that the plate that the TV attaches to has a little play in it so the TV can sometimes be a little crooked. I tried to tighten the nut that allows you to adjust the vertical tilt, but the bolt was spinning in place. A simple lock washer could fix that i would think. If you are planning on using the vertical tilt a lot, I would recommend looking elsewhere. If you are a set it once and never change it again scenario like me, this works pretty good. We mounted ours on an inside corner so I can swing it around to see from both sides of the room. Works great for that. Mounted a 32" tv to it. 4Sturdy TV mount Very sturdy TV mount with a good length arm. Nice, clean installed look and looks like it will work with many sizes of TVs. The in/out and left/right motion work very easily, the reason I took a star off is because of the up/down tilting motion. It is kind of a friction action and you have to grab the TV with both hands, take the weight off of the joint, and rotate the TV up or down. Definitely can't be done with one hand but wouldn't be a big deal if you always keep it at the same angle. I use this in my travel trailer. 4Great product for the price! Just received and installed this for a 32" Panasonic LCD TV, which has the 200x200 (basically 4"x4") VESA mounting hole pattern on the back. Since information is somewhat sketchy on these units just about everywhere you look, here are some key things to know:- Unit is very sturdy. Includes sufficient mounting hardware of good quality, including 3 sizes of screws for mounting the unit to the TV itself (in case your TV didn't come with them or you lost them.)- Joints are very stiff upon arrival, but this is easily remedied by adjusting the tension of the bolts/nuts at the various joints.- Also includes two hex wrenches and another small wrench for adjusting the tension of the bolts/nuts. NOTE that everything on this seems to be METRIC, and the nut on the largest bolt is larger than the provided wrench, so you'll need an adjustable wrench or the right sized socket to use on that (if needed).- Includes instructions for mounting either to a stud or to a cement/masonry wall. Instructions are well written and easy to understand, but I would modify the approach as follows (which I did, and it worked well). (I mounted it to a stud using three (of the six) provided lag screws.mounting hole pattern on the back of the set.) Their advice on the size of the hole to drill for lag screws going into a stud was perfect, by the way.Some suggested alternatives for mounting, based on my experience:The instructions have you leave the unit in one piece throughout the installation process. I wouldn't want to try that, given the weight of the unit (especially once the TV is attached) and the awkwardness of dealing with that weight at odd angles. So....- I removed the long bolt that holds the pair of arms to the single arm (paying attention to the order/location of spacers and washers), so I could deal with both the wall and TV ends of the unit separately.- I attached the plate / single arm to the back of the TV, using four of the screws that came with the unit. (I was grateful for that, as the TV I was mounting did not have its own!)- I next removed the two bolts that hold the pair of arms to the wall plate, paying attention to the order/location of washers. This allowed me to work with just wall plate, since it's challenging enough to get something perfectly vertical on a stud using lag bolts without interference from a couple arms in the way and their extra weight.- I don't think the instructions mention it, but the wall plate has a hanging hole in the middle, in addition to the mounting holes on the ends. So, I took advantage of this by putting a lag screw into the wall half way between where I'd want to end screws to be located. This allowed me to "hang" the wall plate on the wall, get it vertically aligned (using a good level), and mark the holes precisely where they needed to be. Once I'd mounted the wall plate using a lag screw on either end, I simply drove the original lag screw in the rest of the way, which provided added holding power!). (And once I'd mounted the wall plate using a lag screw on either end, I just screwed the one in the middle the rest of the way in for added holding power!).- Once the wall plate was in place, I reattached the two arms.- All of this left the wall plate and two arms on the wall and the single arm and TV plate attached to the TV.- Final step: Another person held up the TV, while I guided the single arm in between the other two. I guided the bolt down through each arm, washer and spacer, attached the nut, and tightened it down. Done!Range of motion is really good. Stability seems nice. Slightly loosened the bolt on the back to allow for easier tilting/rotating. 5Happy Camper It was fairly easy to install, but take a tip. The instructions tell you to attach the whole arm unit to the wall first and then attach it with the mounting plate to the TV. I knew trying get the tiny machine screws through the plate and in to the TV would be a tricky task - certainly a 2 person task - and the TV would be at risk since this would need to be done in suspended position. The easy solution was to remove the last bolt forward, that attaches the plate to the articulating arm. Then it becomes an easy task to attach the plate to the TV. The rest of the arm then can be attached to the wall. And then with a helper it's an easy task to rejoin the plate with the arm, by simply dropping the bolt through the joining hole, and tightening the nut. It took about an hour to do the entire mount.The articulating arm adds so much flexibility to how the TV now can be positioned. I'm so happy I went with this rather than some more stationary mount. They give you a ton of heavy anchors and bolts to affix to the wall, but for my 32" TV just 5 screw type plastic anchors with medium screws is more than adequate, and that's just right in the drywall, since no stud was in the right area to fix the mount. 5Really sturdy and well made. Really sturdy and well made. Exceeded my expectations. I particularly like the ability to adjust for any slight error in mounting. A tiny error in drilling the holes to mount the bracket on the wall is magnified when the TV is out a maximum extension. The nut you loosen to tilt the TV up or down also allows you to perfectly level the TV. The only annoyance was that the included packet of bolts only went up to M6, while the 32" Samsung I was mounting needed M8 bolts. That required a trip to a hardware store to finish the job. On the other hand, a nice little level is included in the package -- a nice touch. 5This is very nice! I purchased this bracket after reading a review from another customer who pointed out that it can be taken apart and mounted to the back of the television separately, which was important to me. I live alone, and needed to be able to do this as a "one person job" which goes against what the enclosed instructions suggest. Everyone needs to take into account how big the television is that they are trying to mount, and decide whether or not the enclosed lag bolts, which would anchor an elephant to a concrete wall, are needed. Also, if you are mounting a larger television, you probably will need someone to help put it on the bracket. But my television is a 22 inch and probably only weighs less than 10 pounds, so I was able to put the mounting bracket back onto the arm with one hand, and then slip the bolt through the slots and tighten the nut with the other hand, and the enclosed wrench that came with it. At any rate, I suggest that the mounting bracket is attached to the television prior to actually hanging it. Lining the screws up while someone tries to hold it still and in the air is at best, going to result in much frustration, both on the part of the individual trying to hold the television up over their head, and the person trying to tighten the screws. Once you get the mount, you will see how easily the bracket can be detached from the arm. I absolutely love having this mounted though, as it is in my bedroom and I can now watch television without turning my neck in an unnatural position. The only thing I should mention is that, on a smaller television like mine, the bracket covers the port where you would connect a computer. Not an issue for me, but it might be for some. I am sure though, if you are placing it on a larger television, this would not be the case. 5Works on Terrible Walls with Bigger TV! I moved to the middle-of-nowhere this year, and currently live in what can best be described as a "Fake Log Cabin." I also brought my 40'' Samsung Flatscreen with me. The walls here are comprised of pseudo-wood paneling, and with the gas furnace fireplace in the middle of our living room, we had nowhere to put my beloved modern technology. This Mount saved my sanity. Like all the other reviews you see, yes, we did need to buy different bolts to accommodate the mount's attachment to the wall. Not expensive to do, and no big deal. Between the two of us, we were able to get the TV installed in a matter of minutes. While I keep waiting for the Mount to rip out of the cheap wall and the TV to smash into oblivion on the multi-brown shag carpet... it's all held together beautifully. Swivels perfectly towards whichever antiquated furniture we're seated on in the room, and extends out nicely towards us when we're in the kitchen frying a turkey my boyfriend shot a few days earlier. My God, this TV is all I have to connect me to the outside world... and this Mount has made it possible. I love you, Mount. Never let go. 5
