After getting the mount out of the box I realized how easy this was going to be This is an extremely versatile heavy duty mount. I bought a new camper with the built in area for the TV. The area had a sticker which read 48" max diagonal. So I bought a 48 inch diagonal. Then I discovered they weren't kidding I had a half an inch on all sides for error on mounting in order for the TV to fit. After getting the mount out of the box I realized how easy this was going to be. The only critical mounting distance was the vertical. I simply pre-mounted it to the TV and measured. I removed the TV and placed the mount on the wall, marked the mounting holes according to my pre-measurement , drilled and mounted it. I placed the TV on the mount and with the left-right movement capability of the double arm and tilt feature it slid right in. I was amazed. I pulled the TV back out away from the wall with the mounts generous length away from the wall feature and easily connected all of my wires. I slid the TV back in and done. You will like this mount 5Read the Directions and Avoid E-Shots or Prepare to Placate the Spirits of Your Ancestors! This is a great mount for the price! But guys, seriously, read the instructions!Installation. This is the devil's own TV mount. I mean, if, perchance, you have a wall of 1" plywood to screw into, it would be easy, but if you have drywall, or 100 year old plaster and lath like we do, you're going to need a stud-finder...The story: I have a teenage boy. He's a gamer, or aspires to be, but I refuse to spend vast amounts of money on video games, so he has to buy his own. One thing I do spend money on is RockSmith, because the kid has been playing guitar for not quite three years and he's freaking phenomenal. He had a TV and a monitor, but of course yearned for a bigger TV, so my dad bought a new one and gave him the older 42" flat panel and now there was no room for it on the desk. He then pestered me for a month to buy him a wall mount. (Honestly, this has to be the heaviest LCD I have ever seen, and I ain't no weak little girl!) I resisted buying the TV mount, because I've been meaning to repaint his room and we live in my grandparents' 100 year old house and the walls are all plaster. My whole life I was trained to NEVER, EVER put holes in the plaster walls! You hang stuff on the anchors that are already there. If you put a hole in a wall, it better be forever - that curtain rod, painting, mirror, commemorative plate, etc. is going to stay there FOREVER. If it's not the right size and shape for where the screw is, you hang it somewhere else! And you better have a whopping drill, because the wall studs are all aged oak, which is roughly the hardness of, well, a ROCK. But the hubby has a hammer-drill, and he's managed to conduct all sorts of repairs on my grandfather's pre-civil war era timber-framed barn, so I figured, how badly wrong could this possibly go? Even with the hubby's (frustrating) over-indulgence of energy drinks, which tend to make him scatter-brained in the evening, and the screenager's ADHD, emphasis on the "H," and their tendency to feed each others manic mood when both confined to the same small space. Mounting TVs is the hubby and the screenager's monkey, not mine. So I ordered the mount that I thought any teenager would die for - this one.I ordered it on Thursday morning, which means with Prime two-day (more like three or four-day) shipping, it was due to arrive on Monday. I made the mistake of telling the teenager I had ordered it, to get him to leave me alone, but then he just pestered me for tracking information all weekend. Monday arrived and he must have checked the front step 22 times for packages, scolding the outside cat, who happens to be the exact color of a package and likes to lay on the steps and impersonate a package because he knows we can't tell the difference through the beveled glass door.The package arrived, and immediately he threw packing material all over the living room and dumped the other contents onto the sofa so he could get a look at the box the mount came in. I wouldn't let him open it, because immature frontal lobes apparently have trouble NOT losing small parts. Then he had to wait until dad, who doesn't work on Mondays, came in from disassembling and reassembling the barn, so they could install it. I left them to it. Bad idea.Soon, I notice a lot of tromping up and down the stairs. I can hear a lot of traipsing in and out of the attic door, I assume to get a look at the other side of the wall. I hear drilling and banging and cursing. There is some discussion that the mount won't tilt - they shove it in my face - at which point I ask if they even looked at the instructions, reach for the box, which is still on the sofa and discover the pristine, never unfolded instruction book inside the box, which I then quite satisfyingly wave in their sheepish faces while pointing at the diagram that explains how to tilt the mount. So I finally go upstairs. Bad idea.Not only is there a dime-sized hole in the plaster where the existing picture-hanging screw had been for sixty years, There are two more, slightly smaller, large holes below it, pencil marks everywhere, plaster chips everywhere, and dirty paper plates and half empty water bottles and soda cans and chip bags everywhere, which is normal, but still ticks me off. The holes are slightly too far to the left and missed the stud. Because drilling into the rock hard studs takes a larger bit, they had to use larger screws than the ones provided and so the holes are larger than usual. As I stand there, the hubby drills TWO MORE HOLES in my grandmother's plaster and I can literally feel her rolling over in her grave, ready to break out and snatch them both bald. And by now they're so irritable and frazzled they almost mount it upside-down before I stop them. (But to be fair, I'm pretty sure they would have noticed before they started screwing it to the wall... I hope...)And now we have to LIFT the thirty-five pound TV over the desk and hinge it onto the mount, without the he-man who is lifting it being able to actually see what he's doing. In case you didn't know, the laws of physics are such that when you hold a thirty-five pound TV at a distance from your body, over $300 of smaller monitors and keyboards and controllers and several open cans of sugary, citric-acid-y beverages, my precious season 5 Game of Thrones DVD box set which the screenager is not supposed to TOUCH, it will suddenly weigh 2,000 pounds. It's true. Ask Stephen Hawking.After several very tense moments with the screenager and I standing on tiptoe, stretched over the desk with our faces pressed against the wall, trying to guide the 4,000 pound TV onto the tiny hinge, EUREKA! SUCCESS! WHEW!So the TV is securely attached to the wall, and has been for about two weeks without falling off. You can tilt it, angle it and rotate it 90 degrees, which is a good thing, because now the hubby has a lot of plaster patching to do. Some offerings to the spirits of my ancestors would be wise. Grandpa prefers pie. 5no 16 inch on center wall mounting holes to directly hit studs There are no wall mounting holes that line up to 16 inch on center! You can get it close and angle the mounting screws, but for something this heavy you really would like it to line up perfectly. It is close, like 1/2 inch away, so you should be able to hit the studs on both holes, but you better be perfect. Maybe I got a bad item, but I measured every hole combination and none were 16 inches apart.Other than that the mount seems well made and worth the money. 3Worth every penny! I bought two of these. One to hang a 47" in the bedroom, and one to hang a 55"in the living room. The price on this was great and it looked just as solid as the ones I've seen for much much more. When it arrived I was amazed at how solid it was. Don't have any hesitations if you are looking at this. It is a solid, well constructed mount. 5Wall mount I looked at wall mounts for a TV for over an hour. After I decided what my needs were (60 inch Sony and where to install) I chose this. Has the bubble level and a multitude of different lag bolts, screws, washers etc for concrete, drywall or whatever substrate you were hanging your TV on. Been up and working for a couple of months with no issues. Simplicity and the price was right. Shipped quick too. 5Not even worth 2 dollars Don't waste your time buying this product if you have a bigger TV and expect to install it yourself. The way you connect the vesa behind your TV to the mount was designed by someone making 300k not giving a care or thought of how someone would actually put install this. There is 3 protruding metal that's supposed to link with the vesa the problem is the metal is too short . They should have designed the middle metal to stick out longer and the hole the connect to it to be wider. If it we're longer and the hole wider, the TV would slide right in. Don't waste your time with this useless junk.Look at my picture, Mr 300k a year with a college degree engineer who designed this, Why on Earth would you design the attachment in a way that requires the TV to be tilted at an angle?A great a design is a design someone can follow blind folded. An old lady could install a 50lb TV if the design had a vertical sliding bolt instead of these 3 short small pertruding metal. On top of that, the holes that goes on top of it is even smaller, that leaves a very small room to work with. If the college degree engineer who designed this made it into a veritcal slider, people could install this blind folded no matter how big the TV is. 1Mounts not level I purchased 4 of these mounts to compensate for a wall that had a protrusion and I could match the depth of the TVs with the adjusting portion. I used a laser leveling device to make sure all of the TV mounts were level with each other. After I mounted the first 3 I noticed that even if you level the mount itself, the part that actually holds the TV is different on every single mount. This is with the extending arms fully retracted.My mistake was mounting all the brackets then the TVs, and realizing none of them line up and have different angles. If you were doing just one TV, maybe you can live with it being slightly off and not noticing it but not more than one.The reason for the two stars is they are otherwise a very good quality mounts with sturdy arms. If you are a perfectionist, don't buy this mount. I plan on uploading pictures of the actual mount not level and then the TV level to show the difference. 1Worked out well We finally retired our nice old glass tube TV and got a flat screen. We actually did not need a swivel mount bracket, but it actually came in handy. Mounting this to the wall was pretty straightforward. Hardest part was figuring out just how high to mount the bracket to get the TV at desired height. I fully extended the arms to make mounting to the wall easier. That also helps when attaching the TV and getting the TV wired up. The brackets securely mounted to the back of the TV and then it was simple to lift the TV up and hook the bracket onto the top edge of the wall mount. Center the TV and then tighten down the screws on the bottom side of the TV brackets to lock the TV in place. Setting a bit of down angle was pretty simple as well. I did dock it a star since the wire clips are not very durable. I've already broken one. Overall, we are pleased with the wall mount. 4VERY VERY STRONG HEAVY DUTY MOUNT FOR LARGE AND HEAVY FLAT SCREEN TV'S FOR LOW $$$!!! Well, here we go again! Me & the wife got ourselves a nice Christmas present of a 60 inch Plasma Smart TV for the living room (plasma vs LED? 600Hz refresh rate for football games!!!) and needed a stronger mount than what was holding up the old 40 inch TV. Once again, I researched, read and studied. My last TV mount from Amazon was such a good buy, I wasn't sure I could beat it, but i did! For less than $40 delivered (!) we got this mount which met all the standards we were looking for. Plasma TVs are heavier than LED, this one is over 80 pounds, but the mount is rated for over TWICE that at 175 lbs! I compared to Cheetah, which used to get high reviews, but seem to have changed their design to a 2 piece backplate (to save on shipping), and I prefer the one piece back plate of this Mount-It unit, it just seems stronger...So we mounted it, to 3 wall studs vs the 2 the last mount used, using the original 2 holes, and adding 4 more, so 2 rows of 3 lag bolts each hold this thing up. Same routine as before, drill a pilot hole for the bolts, use soap to lubricate the threads, use a rachet wrench vs power driver to avoid stripping threads, check the mount with a Bubble Level before tightening down. Yes, the unit has its own level, but some reviewers said it wasn't accurate, so we double checked with a long carpenters level. The Mount-It bubble level was right on as well. So the unit is straight and well fastened, and it is not going ANYwhere... Mounted the rails to the TV, and got it hung on the mount without to much trouble. Now the only negative about this mount... There are 2 screws that must be run UP behind the mount to keep the TV from being able to come off the mount. There is VERY little clearance behind the TV when hung, certainly not enough to get your hand and arm behind it with a screwdriver. I had to use a screwdriver that was about 18 inches long to reach up and find the screw, using a flashlight and patience, but got both screws snugged up. The Tilt function would be difficult to adjust also, but I just adjusted both rails to full tilt and snugged them BEFORE I hung the TV, so it wasn't an issue for us. The TV is high on the wall, and angled down, and we both find the view fine from both a recliner and the sofa, no problems there. The last thing was running all the cables through a flat vinyl conduit that matches the wall, so no cables or wires are visible. A fairly easy job, took all of about 1.5 hours (taking our time, measuring thrice and drilling once), and just the 2 of us, no professionals required!Mount-It came with ALL the hardware for several different mount scenerios, sizes, lengths, spacers, etc. I didn't need anything other than what came in the box, except for tools. (for less than $40?!) There are even provisions for installing on concrete or brick walls, something I would hate to tackle myself...All in all, a nice heavy duty mount for less than half of the local department stores pricing, and free delivery, and it far exceeds the required weight specs for our new TV, and best of all, you can't even SEE it, it is nice and close to the wall. A GREAT deal for under $40!!! 5Great low profile TV mount. Very secure and sturdy feeling mount. Extremely low profile makes it hard to work behind my 46 inch Toshiba TV. After mounting I decided to take it back off of the wall, placed it face down on a blanket on my electronics cabinet and plugged everything in securely before mounting it on the wall. It makes for a very nice close to the wall look. The TV power plug barely fits behind the TV, and I'm looking for a surge protector that will fit behind the TV. It will either need to be a small one with a chord or a very slim one with side mounted plugs.It was easy to attach bracket to the wall with included instructions. Don't be overwhelmed by the large amount of screws and washers included, they all fit different TVs. Also don't get rid of the extra hardware if you want to use this mount with future TV purchases. I wasn't sure what to do with the 2 different sized "spacers" included. Instructions list allen key on the parts list, but there are no allen key bolts in this kit.Do not rely on the included attached bubble level, it would have made my TV mount tilted quite a bit to the left, more than could be accounted for with the little bit of wiggle room once bolts are in place loosely tightened.Things I needed:LevelDrill3/16" Drill BitStud Finder1/2" socket wrenchPhilips screwdriverI mounted this to wood studs 16" on center and it was easier than I thought it would be.Update: I got a new 65 inch Samsung ks8000 TV and all I had to do was swap the TV mounts over to my new TV.
