Customer Reviews

heavy, sturdy and a great bracketThis mount is fantastic! One piece of advice is to be sure that you have a drill and a ratchet set when installing. It's also likely that you'll need an extra set of hands to help hold it in place during installation because it's heavy. My husband and I started out with hand tools and that was not sufficient to install it into the studs. We ended up using a slightly larger drill bit than was recommended and once we found the ratchets it was much easier. This thing can pull out, move side to side a bit and rotate about 180 degrees. We have a small townhouse and it's an amazing space saver.5Sturdy but heavyThis is hands down one of the most solid mounts I have ever used or assembled. I have wall mounted several TVs and this mount is fairly easy to assemble. It is a bit bulky and heavy but that works well for its intended use. You could hang an older heavier flat screen tv from this with the arm fully extended and it would cause the mount to sag.I would give this 5 stars but, the mount isn t very versatile when it comes to actually mounting. The 2 center screw holes on the outer ends are exactly 16 inches apart with no leeway. My studs are 18 which meant I had to modify this mount to safely secure it and the tv to the wall by drilling a new center hole where the load bearing section of the mount is (the arm connection joint). Also because of the weight of this mount, attaching it to the wall can be a bit of a choreThis mount is big enough and extends far enough that I can put my tv at a right angle from the wall it is mounted on.4Good product. This mount is very heavy duty but the 48" TV I was mounting only weighed 17 lbs so cannot say about a heavy TV. I had no problem extending the arm and swinging the TV to one side so it was 90 degrees to the wall. This single arm with the off center attachment to the wall bracket comes in very handy for applications where you want to swing the TV to the side. You could swing the TV almost 180 degrees so it can be watched from either side of a room or anywhere in between. I plan to buy another for a customer that wants to put a TV in an older TV Cabinet that has an opening smaller than the TV. The TV will be outside the cabinet but will need to extend so you can get to the wires. The long arm and off center attachment will allow me to mount it to the side of the cabinet since it is too deep to put at the back.If I had a very heavy TV and it just needed to move in and out with smaller left and right swing I would use a twin arm for more strength. 5Built like a tankThe best wall mount I have bought to date. I purchased the heavier duty 42-75 model, since it was only a few dollars more.Pros:Well constructed, good welds, good overall finish. Extends out 26.5 in. with virtually no sag on a 65" TV. Longest extension arm I've found.Outer mounting plate similar to a wall mount so hanging and adjusting TV is simple. Tilt and level can be made with the TV on the mount. Can be rotated or swiveled easily, but locked down tightly.Arm, which is mounted at one end of the base plate can be flipped easily if needed. All lag bolt hardware for wall mounting and multiple sizes of metric screws for TV attachment. Allen wrench and tilt knobs also included. Bubble level built into the base plate for mounting.Cons:None5Great Buy but..... Seems to be good. DISH just got here to install it and I haven't had the time to play with it.UPDATE.......It arrived dented out of the box so even though it is level on the wall, my tv is tilted I'm super bummed!! Also, I don't really recall the size limit but I do remember making sure to go up a few sizes to keep from straining the mount or future upgrade in TV size. Thank goodness because it's at it's limit now. I fear I need to replace this but now I have giant holes in the wall!!Yep, super bummed!! 4Excellent, high quality, great price. We love these at the office. We've installed 2 70" tvs in one room for audiences to view and then another 65" in a board room for meetings. They are sturdy, smooth, and take the weight of the TV well. It's remarkable actually that something so seemingly simple can mount such a heavy item so well. The only thing that I don't like is that the tilt feature is a semi-permanent deal. In other words, you can turn the tv right and left and have it telescope from the wall... but it will not articulate tilting up and down without a bit more complicated cajoling. For the most part this isn't an issue...but sometimes It could be useful. For the pice, I'm not sure this mount can be beat if you need more than just the stationary mount.5Great mount, don't trust supplied bolts!!!!I have a 60" samsung led smart tv on it, no flex fully extended all the time but do yourself a favor and go to your local hardware store and spend $5 on 4 stainless 4" bolts. While installing the mount when I tightened the 4th bolt tight to wall it snapped at the head then I couldn't get it out so I went to remove the other 3 to move it up an inch on the wall for new holes and all three others broke when I backed them out. If I would have put the tv on it they would have immediatly failed.4Great TV Mount at a Great Price This is a fantastic wall mount unit. The only con I can think of is the heft...this thing is a bit of a beast. Other than that, it is perfect. The mount came with pretty much every possible screw to ensure the right hardware for attaching the brackets to the TV. The built in level is a nice touch and the best part, in my opinion, is the ability to level the unit (without much of a fuss) once the TV is actually mounted. The unit does indeed extend the TV out ~25 inches (though that counts the bracket that mounts on the TV and not the actual reach of the wall plate. Overall a fantastic product and a great price. Should I decide to purchase and mount another 70" TV (because who doesn't need 140" of football viewing awesomeness), I'd pick up another one of these wall mounts. 5Very sturdy, great mountGreat mount for the money. Purchased to mount a 55" flat screen plasma to the wall since the second hand entertainment center I purchased was designed for an old projection TV. I bought the extra long mount to account for the 24" depth of the entertainment center, but did not take into account the depth of the TV. I didn't actually need the extra long mount for my application, and probably could have saved a few dollars, but that doesn't change the fact that it's a very well-made mount. I was able to pull off the install by myself, but a second set of hands is probably advisable.5Really Cheap Hardware (bolts), Narrow wall plate. The good, its pretty sturdy for a single arm swing out mount. The not so good:1) very light weight screws, snapped one of the lag bolts.2) lag bolts: 12mm socket didn't fit them, neither did a 13mm socket. 1/2 inch socket fit best.3) Instructions call for a MINIMUM of 16 inch spacing between bolts. The widest spacing allowed by the mounting plate is 16 inches. So the minimum became a maximum. I had to drill mine to accommodate 18 inch spacing (old house). 24 inch spacing is not that rare, if your studs are spaced out that far, you will be SOL.Two lengths of bolts were included to attach to my TV: 40mm and 15mm. Unfortunately, I needed 25mm bolts. Spacers were too long. Note, every TV is different, I used 25mm long bolts on the top, and I used the 40mm bolts (with a couple of extra washers, not included) for the bottom.Despite the shortcomings, I would buy this unit again. My TV only weighs 36 pounds, to this mount is overkill, but what I would prefer (minimal/no sag).Maybe I over-rated this one at a "4", but given the price, it was still decent.4Searched everywhere. Happy chose this one.Needed one close to 90 degrees for our 55" TV. Only about 40lbs but this one extends the furthest of what I could find and won't have to worry about weight limit. Realized during my measurements I didn't want it all the way to 90 anyways since viewing it from center of room with it hanging on the left wall.At first was worried the original studs I chose were closer to 17" Also got this so I had some space at the edges to drill another hole if needed. Thankfully moving over one stud worked better and they were 16" apart.Biggest challenge was the supplied lag screws. I predrilled with the size bit suggested by instructions. My drill only got the lags halfway in. Thought my battery was dying. Charged it and tried my corded drill. It hardly moved. Charged battery was no help. I've used this drill on other lags before no problem, these started burning it up.Either hole needed to be one size up or the lags needed lubricated?I was able to hand crank them the rest of the was with my socket wrench.I was also concerned that they might be too long. But after considering thickness of mount, washer, lock washer it would be close. Then I remembered thickness of drywall so no concern of the lag going entire way through stud.Don't trust the included level attached to mount. I made sure my holes were level and that the mount was level while inserting the lag bolts. Attached level was way off. Make sure to check the level of the end of the arm when fully extended to where you want it before attaching the TV. I had to adjust mine. Hung TV and it was level.Mount was well packaged in 4 boxes and some bubble wrap. Somehow the visible side of the TV bracket was all scratched up missing paint showing shiny metal. So I used a sharpie to color it in.Also the brackets are very long. My TCL mount holes are toward the bottom of the TV so I had to use the bottom holes on brackets. The brackets stick out 1/8-1/4" front he bottom, but are not noticeable. Since the TCL has a bump out below the VESA holes, I used the thick plastic washers meant for a curved TV. Otherwise the brackets would have been angled and not flush. Didn't have this issue with my other mount. Again, these brackets are very long.I had sure I did my best guess to angle them before attaching so I wouldn't have to mess with adjusting the twist knobs. But they don't seem too bad if I would need to change the angle.5Sags and goes out of level with a large TV mountedFor such a heavy unit, it sags when a large TV is attached. You can level the front plate the TV mounts to because it's not level when you mount the back plate level to the wall. There are 5 screws that are used for this adjustment. Although you can make it level without the TV mounted, it went out of level when my 70", 94 pound TV was attached. It also sags when extended. With the TV mounted, there is no way to reach the 5 screws to re-level it. I had to place a small shim under the left mounting arm and that worked. I needed a mount that I could get access to the connections of the TV. If you plan on using the mount more often for viewing at different angles, or have a heavy TV, I wouldn't recommend it, however, if you need to pull the TV out once in a while to access the rear of the TV and place it back against the wall, it will work fine. I was able to mount it on the wall myself only because the holes matched up to the old mount. You may need a helper to hold one end while you bolt it into the stud. The lag screws are very long and I suggest you use a 1/2 ratchet.3Avoid! not rated to actual weight. This mount can absolutely not handle the weight it is listed as being able to. I mounted an 80# plasma(capacity listed at 175#) and after maybe a total extended time of 2.5-3 hours I notice the arm was noticeably sagging and I immediately removed the TV, however the arm was permanently deformed at around an 8 angle. Additionally, with the weight on the arm it is very difficult to maneuver and angle.I would strongly recommend against this mount as it clearly wasn't manufactured to the listed capacity. If I hadn't noticed and this broke it could have done some serious damage to the floor/furniture/tv.1
