Customer Reviews

that doesn't do me any good. As the juice pack was securely plugged into/onto ... Didn't work so hot unfortunately. The pack comes 100% fully charged but the charge symbol never appeared on my phones battery symbol when I would turn the pack to the green "on" position. I could only get the pack to charge the phone when it was plugged into the charger. uhhhhhhh, that doesn't do me any good. As the juice pack was securely plugged into/onto my phone, the battery just continued to drain quickly as it usually does. Returned it within two weeks. Buy a Hyperion extended battery- it's bulky- but it will last you for days without having to charge it every night. (3 to be specific). 1Good for the value I want to first give a disclaimer that I only paid 17 dollars for this case instead of the MSRP price of 99 dollars. Being that you can buy them now for around 30 dollars, I won't be judging it based on its original price. That being said, I really like the black matte version that I purchased. The white glossy version is slippery and gets dirty easily. The black matte also seems to have less problems than the white glossy (you can verify that by checking the reviews on amazon :) The charge takes about 4 to 6 hours so I charge it overnight. NOTE: for some reason this will not charge your galaxy S3 from 0 to 100% ( even though the battery pack has more power than the original battery. However, the battery pack in the case has 2 purposes:- Standard Batt: Turn battery pack on after charging both phone and case to 100%. The mophie case now becomes the main battery pack, and the s3 ccomes the backup. Being that the mophie drains first before the s3 it will last longer and is recommended for heavy use days- Reserve Batt: If you aren't using the phone heavily, its recommended to just turn it on when you need it. However I wouldnt turn it on below 20% or so as this charges slow, and doesn't recharge it to the full value ( it goes from about 20-75% for me )Overall the juice pack is nice. It does add bulk, but the curved design fits the hand nicely. The current price is way more appropriate for the build quality of the juice pack, which is no where near $99.00. I would definitely recommend buying this at its price now. 4Does the job! Saved my batt a few times The case is "heavy" when you put it on, but what battery case isn't!? It works fast, charges well, and comes in HANDY when you're on long travel days or long nights out at the club! This is something men want to look at as most guys carry their phones in their pocket. Women can get away with buying those external battery banks now to keep in their purse to charge anything.Pros:- Can charge your phone to 100% in about 40mins- Slimmest case for battery pack- Covers all of your phone for the most protection!- Convenient power charge indicator on back (showing the batt packs charge)- Nice Black case, decent grip- Slides on and off easily w/o too much force but does stay on well.Cons:- Added weight (but that's a given)- Dropped once and small plastic cracked on side - not sure how durable for impact it will be 5Never fully charges phone I bought this on super sale so I'm not entirely disappointed. This never carries a full recharge as advertised. It only charges a phone on 2% battery life to about 54%. I have also started a recharge at about 20% battery life and still does not fully recharge my phone. The phone sometimes comes loose and the charging stops, even if it is just sitting on my desk at work. I have to take of the little top, push it down again and then replace the top. The mophie itself takes more than six hours (I've timed it) to recharge fully, yet again only recharges my phone about 50%. It is big and bulky, which I guess there is nothing to be done about that, it is as shown in the picture so I can't complain. The only reason I'm giving this three stars is because it has come in handy when I can't get to a charger. Shipping was fast and on time. 3Good Mophie! I am well satisfied with the Mophie 2200. Is it real or a knockoff? It sure looks real to me. The packaging, product, and instructions are first rate. It was at half charge out of the box. It seems to loose a little charge during the day. You absolutely MUST use the provided cable. The one that came with the phone is to light weight. It has too much loss. It will work even better with a higher amperage charger like the one from a tablet. The fully charged Mophie will only recharge my S3 to about 60% ( wonder if it might be old/new stock?). Which is okay for my needs. It fits my phone perfectly! No removing the back of the phone or anything like that. I added a screen protector to protect the screen. Both seem to protect the phone somewhat. I don't think it comes anywhere close to the protection that I gave up using the Otter Box Defender (which leaks dust and dirt like a screen door and lasts less than a year before the rubber deteriorates). The LEDs, switches, and case cutouts perform perfectly. The buttons are somewhat sensitive, like on the phone itself. Takes some getting used to after having to mash the buttons on the Otter Box. It solved two of my needs. 1. No need to carry a spare battery in my pocket. 2. Saves the wear and tear on my phone recharging jack which can be somewhat fragile. I am totally happy with this purchase, especially at the price of less than $20. Now if could only find the drop in charger for it. How cool would that be? 4Worth it for $6. I guess. If I paid anywhere close to the $100 MSRP - $75 - $50 or even $40 for this product I would have felt a little salty about it. Product feels like it would be worth $25 max. Given the pros and cons of it for ~$6 with the free shipping it is a steal none the less.Pro: - Battery holds a good charge in comparison to other cases even ones rated 3200mah - Case allows passthrough charging. If connected to wall it will charge case as well as phone. - It's basic, two buttons that require 10 seconds to figure out what they do. One lets you know how much charge is left with case and other to put case in stand-by mode. (stand-by, case won't charge phone so you aren't constantly doing micro charges which is bad.) - Manual is written in English and not Engrish.- Cheap as F$#% for $6.Cons:- Case feels incredibly cheap. Plastic reminds me of dollar store toy quality. Brittle.- White case is a dust magnet- For mine the edges of the unit was not flush so a bit of the plastic edge stuck out. If I DD this case It would be annoying.- The buttons is what really makes this product feel cheap. Little plastic buttons that have no membrane to the back of them so they just rattle.Like I said for anything over $25 I'd feel burned but for $6 with S&H it's a helluva deal 3Great bang for the buck Normally, 99 dollars on Mophie.com, I found this to be an cost effective buy.I thought when I purchased this it would work for a few months and would no longer charge. In the 6 months I used this product before upgrading to a S7, I was never disappointed. I tend to stay very 'app heavy' on my phones so I lose power quickly. This product kept up with my consistent power consumption and kept on going.Normally, you get what you pay for but with this product, you get so much more 5Good bargain for an old phone. So far this has worked very well. Doubles my battery life and should be great for my next hiking trips, where the single battery would start to die towards the end of the day, sometimes in the middle of nowhere. The extra attachment to the phone with the extra battery feels very solid and meshes very well with the phone to provide a slightly thicker and larger case. The micro USB connector you have to be careful with. It feels very tight and I worry about pressing too hard and maybe damaging it, so you have to take a bit of care in aligning and pushing, but so far no problems. Overall I like it very much so far and it should be very useful for S3 owners who are happy with this old phone and want to keep it for a while longer. The price is certainly right. 5Absolute trash. Stay away from this product. When I got it, I followed the instructions EXACTLY. From the start it did not work properly. It would start charging but it would come loose when I put it in my pocket and stop charging my phone. After about a week it stopped charging altogether. I contacted mophie about it and they were no help at all because they say that it's an out of warranty issue so I couldn't get an exchange. A refund isn't really worth it. You're better off taking it apart from the start and resoldering new connections and such to make it work properly. On the other hand, it's an excellent paperweight. Also, it's a great case (if you're not going to use it to charge your phone, even though that's the intended purpose...) 1I like it Just got this, so haven't had time to put it through the normal torture test which is my life. From what I've seen so far the build quality is great. I really like the heft and solid feel of the case and for those that think it's too bulky, all I can say is you must not be a man. I don't have any problems with the size. In fact, it's not that much different in size from the otter box I had on my old S2. So here's my list.Pros:* Battery life so far is amazing. A recent trip to Disney confirmed that while the stock battery is good enough for a typical day, it's absolutely atrocious on an event packed day travelling. I popped the battery on the phone at 8:00 AM and at 8:00 PM that night still had a full charge. (Mophie says to only switch the pack on once the phone hits 20% to get the best duration, however I know from experience that once the phone hits that level things stop working. For example, the flash.)* Solid design and build. I like how the case makes the phone feel. I like a heavier phone to begin with and this case gives me the heft I like. The switches and buttons on the case are solid as well. The power button does move around a little, but it doesn't rattle like some other reviewers have said.* I've used a Powerskin before and the Mophie case is light years ahead of that thing. Where the Powerskin had the micro usb port in molded rubber and ready to fail at any moment, the port on this device is rock solid and tight. Almost too tight. The Powerskin failed within a month when the port detached from the rubber and pushed inward where a good connection couldn't be made. This won't happen on the Mophie.Cons:* Internal USB Connection. When I inserted the phone in the case the usb connection didn't line up correctly at first. I had to push down on the connector to get it to insert properly. Once I did the case slid on perfectly however.* External USB Connection. The connection is a little too tight and it makes you think that you might be pressing too hard on the cable to seat it properly. I'm concerned that one night I'll damage the cable or the port trying to get it connected.* Included USB Cable. I'm not crazy about having to use the included cable for connecting every time. I can't see any difference in it and the generic usb cables I have around. It's also shorter than the cable that came with the phone which makes placement of the phone on the bed side table more difficult.* External Sync and Charging connectors. There is absolutely nothing in the literature that came with the device to tell me about those. My phone is almost new and a charging dock might be a nice addition, but I can't find any information so far on one online or in the manual that came with the case.I'd like to add that the product pictured is different than what I received. The picture appears to show a Mophie Air battery case. The difference being that the case shown is flush with the phone at the bottom, whereas the case I received is not. There is a bump where the case connects to the phone. I'm not crazy about that difference and wonder if the vendor is doing this on purpose. 3
