I hate the ends The ends are a terrible design. I ordered 4 sets of cables. Half the ends were too loose and needed to be crimped a little bit more to have a snug fit. The problem is if you accidentally bend the metal too far it will break off when your try to straighten it. Also the cable is really stiff and a pain to unplug one jack at a time. I ended up not using these for what I had intended due to these issues and they are now collecting dust in my spare cable box since they could not be returned. 2good for turntable use. Nice low capacitance, 32pF on my cap meter, which is exactly what I wanted for my turntable to external phono stage hookup. The RCA jacks on my phono stage are really close together and wiggle a little bit; the RCA plugs on this cable were a rather loose fit and also have very wide barrels. Upon initial installation, the outer shells of the left and right input RCA plugs shorted together and made terrible loud, apocalyptic boom and noise. I was able to correct this by placing a sleeve of heat shrink tube over the red RCA plugs on each end to provide additional insulation and crimping on the outer ring of the plugs with a pair of pliers. I'd like to see Monoprice sell a version of these cables with slimmer and better insulated RCA plugs. I'd snatch one up right away. 4Nothing Fancy but Good and Solid Cables I needed short RCA cables to connect my DAC and Amp. Monoprice has always made affordable and good quality products so it was an easy buy.The cables are a thick and a little stiffer than I wanted but they are workable. The connectors are a little tight and you should be careful using these on older equipment but they work well and hold the connection tight. You can pay a lot of money for fancy cables that won t really give you much of a bump in audio quality or you can spend $6 on these and get good cables that work well. 5Too stiff for the 1.5ft cable, clamping force is weak, keeps popping off I wanted a short cable because I was hooking up a preamp to a power amp on my desk and didn't need a long RCA cable. Usually, a thick RCA cable is good because it means it's durable. For this 1.5ft cable, it just means that the wire won't go down the back of the desk like most wires, it just sticks straight out of the back of the amp and preamp and makes a stiff U-shape. (You can see from my photo.) If I move either the amp or preamp, it makes the cable pop off because the casing on the cable is so stiff and the clamp on the RCA's is weak.I can see their longer cables being good since they do seem durable. But for this short cable, I feel like the stiffness works against it and will either cause the cable to break or my RCA's on my devices to break. Just too much stress on the connections.I ended up just using a different RCA cable I had. So much better. 2These look good, however they are not. I purchased four of these because I needed short RCAs from my wire to RCA converter (AudioControl LC6i). Out of the bag the RCA connectors are loose, and do not stay securely fastened to the JBL amp, or line converter. I had to use pliers to tighten them, and the metal is so cheap that one of the clips of the end broke off. I really had high hopes from this because mono price normally sells good equipment. Not the case here. Additionally when I went to return it, however their Amazon account is setup it does not allow you to return them. I had to send an email to Amazon for them to override their account settings. Thankfully Amazon just approved the return after putting in my notes of what transpired. Very displeased with the entire procedure; however Amazon made it right.TL;DR If you need short cables, don't buy these. 1Average because of handling issues- bulky and stiff Two main issues with these cables:The connectors are a bit bulky, which makes inserting them into RCA jacks a bit a pain. Both have to be inserted simultaneously, otherwise they won't fit.Second thing is that the cable is quite stiff and cumbersome to manage.Main reason I bought these was because they come in shorter than 3 foot lengths, so I guess that's the upside. 3Bought 2, 1 jack failed Bought 2 pairs of these cables, out of the 8 total jacks, 1 failed. The gold connector worked itself loose in the sleeve. While inspecting to figure out why my stereo was intermittently working on one channel (car audio install) I've discovered this by wiggling it. All other 7 jacks were ok; one fairly effortless tug on this the gold part worked itself loose, breaking the last bit of wire it had soldered... They are ridiculously thin inside, although they are shielded. Disappointing as Monoprice is usually good stuff; but still caused me a good 6 hrs of troubleshooting every wire in the car and ripping the whole interior apart again... 1Don't know how it could be better. Bought this to replace the cheap cable that came with my vintage turntable. There was a noise base that didn't seem to go away whatever I did. This cable made it much better. It's not completely gone (I think I need to isolate the turntable better to avoid rumble) but the old cable proved to have played a part. I also bought a 3mm to rca and that 100% eliminated the noise I had through the AUX channel! This is why I think I really can't do better than this cable (they are the same built). 5Great Cables for the price. These are quality built cables! Yes, the cable is a little stiff and the connectors are tighter than the less expensive cables on the market, but they fit perfectly between my TV cable box and my speaker pre-amp. Sound quality in the TV surround system is just fine. BUT, the proof of quality is in the pureness of the sound delivered, and i see no reviews of this technical aspect of these cables. Should I assume that the internal wires and the connections to the terminals are as good as anything else I could buy? 5Rugged and probably my favorite RCA cables. Tight fit -- really snug, but they work well.Using these to replace the FosPower (spelling?) cables I had. I have had them several months now and I couldn't be happier with them. The Monoprice seem much better in quality than my previous set; the cables are thicker, sturdier, and best of all -- they are very short. The insulation seems pliable but the cables are very stiff, making them very hard to bend.I use them to connect an audio interface to a DJ mixer for Traktor. These cables are clean looking and tidy, being they are so short. Plus they are snug in fit to the connection -- they are not sliding loose by accident. Because they are so short and thick, they don't bend well and like to snap back into almost a straight position. I try to stack my audio interface beside the turntable, but the cables pull it back behind the mixer every time.I would definitely recommend these cables over any others that I have tried. 5
