    Didn't fit a 2009 Scion xB without modification Honestly pretty disappointed in this installation kit. Purchased it for a 2009 Scion xB. It does bolt to the radio just fine, but does not allow the vent trim panel to sit flush against the dash once installed. I had to just install the lower mounting screws and allow the metra pieces to be pushed back with the trim piece. Kind of hard to describe, but definitely a hassle and does not live up to the Metra name. also does not cover the 1/4" gap on the top and bottom of the radio, most new double DIN radios don't come with a trim ring so this is an issue. 1This provides a fairly poor fit in my 2004 4runner with the Sony XAV-AX100 This provides a fairly poor fit in my 2004 4runner with the Sony XAV-AX100. The screws supplied with the head unit weren't long enough to go through these plates and the oem mounting brackets. The kit pieces arrived with some nicks/scuffs on the finish / edges. Also the kit leaves a small gap below and above my head unit. I think Metra could have done a better job making a proper double din adapter. 2Be Prepared to purchase some screws OK, these fit the gap much better than the squared off Pioneer head unit I was installing, that is the good. Now for the bad... You will absolutely need to purchase longer screws in order to go through this bracket and your OEM mounting bracket. Neither manufacture seems to get this and you will be left to source these elsewhere: Go to Lowes, they had a bag of 8 for like $1.25. Not a biggie, just a pain in the butt because the whole "it's only gonna take a couple hours" just went down the drain. Also, once everything is installed, there is a little gap on one side or the other, there is not getting around this, so, just wanted to make you aware. All in all, I am certainly happy with the end result. My OCD cannot overlook that tiny gap, I must learn to live with it. Cheers. 3Cheap wont fit This should be $4. All it does is fill in the gaps on the side and its lot of work install. I'm sure someone can make an easy to install no tools needed plastic snap in cap on a 3D printer, sell it for $4 and still make a good profit. First I had to remove the original stereo brackets and modify them by grinding out the 8 alignment tabs. Then use a belt sander and sand off the little lip in front of each side so that they were flush against the new stereo.I'm a DIY guy with lots of tools but it still took me an hour to modify the dash kit to fit my car. What about the guy who doesn't have a lot of tools or experience in DIY? I can't recommend this product. 2These are just spacers for the dash panel but you'll need them. If you have a double DIN head unit and a Toyota Matrix, this is what you will need to make up the space on either side of the dash panel. You use it along with the old metal bracket on the OEM radio. Be prepared to do some trimming with a strong, sharp pair of scissors to get them to lay flush around the the bracket. I had electicians scissors and they were strong and small for cutting in an arc pattern. I also hollowed away some of the plastic around one of the holes. It was the right bracket that was problematic. Take you time and keep dry fitting. I had to be careful, I could have easily trimmed too much and ruined the right one. Also I had to snip off one of the little dimples on each of the metal brackets with sharp diagonal cutters to get the bracket to sit flush on the head unit. (You'll see when you get in there and actually do it) 503 Toyota Tundra, little mod. I had to cut the bracket up to fit my 03 Toyota Tundra. After cutting the last hole off, only then was I able to use this bracket. I still like this product though, as now my deck doesn't look so bad. If someone isn't a DIY'er, they may not appreciate this item... 3Fits Perfect If A Bit Loose As trim adapters go, these are *okay*. The design of how they mount to the din leaves for too much play when installed in my opinion - if they were attached at more than about 1/2 inch of plastic they'd be much more solid feeling. Additionally, the look of the plastic is the same old light-texture plastic that these things have been for decades - why nobody ever makes one in a smooth finish is beyond me. 3Did NOT fit my 06 Toyota Highlander with Boss Head Unit I installed a Boss head unit recently and found gaps on either side of the unit. Amazon said this kit would fit my car so I bought it. After following the instructions and cutting the pieces exactly like they said to cut it, found that the kit was too WIDE for the space in my dash. So, now I have a product that was cut to "fit" my vehicle and I can't return it. Not happy about this. I guess the next step is to contact Boss to see if they specifically have a dash kit for my car. 2Not for 4Runner Sport with RDS This kit does NOT work with the 4th Gen 4Runners that have RDS head units (see picture). It does not fill the space. It doesn't matter whether you have Sport or Limited....if you have the RDS head unit you need Metra 95-8210, NOT this kit.Don't go off of the model and sub-model of your 4Runner. Instead, go to Crutchfield.com, put a head unit in your cart and see what dash kit it tells you. That is the one you want. 4MUST READ THIS REVIEW If you are installing a pioneer head unit into a Toyota you will be thanking me. My install was the Pioneer 4200NEX into a 2007 Sequioa. The kit can be modified very easy for a quick and easy install. It took me a frustrating hour and lots of hack saw cuts only to figure out a simple mod. Listen up, just turn the metro piece to view the back of it. You will see a raised bar that runs between the top and bottom screw holes. That is a cut line! Just an ordinary hacksaw and cut the bracket down the inside of the cut line so the raised bar is cut away. The third screw hole is NOT needed. Now line up the top and bottom screw holes and your done. Enjoy the new head unit and impress your buddies. Please leave a comment or ask a question if needed. 5
