They Work As Expected We have purchased about 200 or more of these for our collection of old TV programs on DVDs. That means they will not get constant use. I don't know how well they will work for frequent use. 5Cases are excellent These cases are excellent - just the right "weight" of slimline case I was looking for.The thing that keeps it from being a 5 star rating is that there was very little to no packaging by the shipper, and as a result 5 of the cases were shattered and completely unusable when I received them. If they had been better packaged with a bit more packing, this would not have happened. I wrote a review on the shipper and explained this, but have had no response from them regarding the damaged cases, or that they would correct the lack of packing in the future. Still waiting on that response. However, the cases themselves are as expected and work well. 4Good product I have been using this product for many years now and have been very satisfied. 5Made well, opens well and closes securely. Sturdy high quality plastic that opens and closes securely and stays closed. This is not a flimsy cheap jewel case like somany on the market today. Packaged extremely well with no breakage at a very good price. 5it is of a good quality. However If you can find the Memorex product with the old yellow blue packaging, it is of a good quality. However, all the new Memorex CD jewel cases in the white packages are shoddy junk. Many are broken in shipping and those that survive will break with any use at all. This seems to be the outcome of the company's purchase by the private-equity-backed megacorp, Digital Products International. Anyone, including Office Depot, thinking about purchasing or reselling anything from DPI might want to look it up on Yelp. 1Great Cases I was understandably leery of buying jewel cases online due to the fact that just looking at a jewel case sideways tends to break them let alone having them endure the rigours of shipping etc. I can honestly say I am pleasantly surprised to report not a single one came in with as much as a crack. The cases themselves are packaged in a sturdy cardboard box that eliminates any case breaking rattling etc. The cases seem to be made of a bit thicker plastic than the ones I had before. Overall, if, like me, your local retailers are jacking their prices (staples) or they aren't stocking these anymore (Walmart) you would be well served by these cases. I just put them on a permanent reservation on my wish list to purchase more later when I need them. 5But are they Memorex? These are OK slim jewel cases but they are pretty flimsy and not strong. I used them to distribute a number of promotional DVDs and they were fine for that purpose. They are really not appropriate for any kind of permanent storage.I seriously question if these are Memorex jewel cases:1. The jewel cases did not arrive in a Memorex box as in the illustration. They had been bulk-packed in a plain cardboard box.2. The name "Memorex" was nowhere to be found on the box and there was no indication that these jewel cases were Memorex.3. I have a box of 50 Memorex jewel cases I previously purchased at an office supply store and there are differences between these and the jewel cases that arrived in this order. Also, the product number on the cardboard box is not the same number as on the Memorex box I bought at the store.Other than that, they seem to be about the same quality. 3Exactly as advertised I'm re-organizing my gazzilions of CDs and DVDs. This is exactly what I need. I highly recommend it to anyone who needs a CD/DVD organizer. 5Packaging Better Than In the Product Imaging Shown What a pleasant surprise! The image on the product page is the way I've gotten these jewel cases either in this or the 25-count size in the past--thin cardboard around both ends and 2 of the other four sides, with shrink wrap finshing it off. I always had to allow for about 5% breakage in transit when I mail-ordered them here. So I open this package and I see that these have been packed in a great 1/8"-thick corrugated tray, with shrink wrap around that. From appearances, this does several times as good a job of protecting the cases as the other packaging did. Not to mention being a better storage container. I don't know if they also come to regular retail stores this way, but I had been ready in advance to write 2 or 3 of these off--now they'll all be usable. Maybe Amazon should revise the product page imagery. 5Be smarter than me and DO NOT ORDER!! In defiance of my girlfriend's advice, I ignored the other reviews and ordered these cases thinking surely Amazon would have handled the problem by now. She was standing next to me when I opened the box and little pieces of clear plastic went flying all over the kitchen and she burst out laughing. She really didn't have to say "I told you not to order them", but she just couldn't resist. I could see that a large percentage of the cases were broken without even removing them from the box. They looked as if they were well-packaged which led me to believe they may have been broken before they were shipped to me. Total crap! DO NOT BUY 1
