Customer Reviews

Reliable recording media at a fair economical price. This is a review of the Memorex 4.7 GB 16X DVD+R (100 Pack)This is a short review as this is a simple product. I have used many different burning medias in the past and so far I have come to learn Memorex has been my best performing and reasonably priced option. I can honestly not recall the last time I had a dvd burn fail or issues with any of the data - video files I burned to these disks. This is a 100 pack of the Memorex 4.7GB 16x DVD + R.(I use max speed recording and have no issues at all.)I also like using these as the top of the disks have areas for you to label the discs. (I use a black sharpy marker.)Just to give you a quick idea of how much data these hold.CD = 800MBDVD = 4.7GB (4,700 mb)Music mp3s are approx 5mbPhotos are typically 3-5mb or 10-20mb if on a DSLR camera. 5Great buy! 100% worked perfectly I've been using Memorex DVD+R 16x discs for about 6-7 years now and although they are concidered to be a lower quality of DVD out there in the market place I have to say I've never had much problems with them. I've burned well over 600 of these DVD-R's and I have only had 3-4 failures which is a very small amount considering the numbers and the price of these discs.Overall I am 100% pleased with these discs and will definately continue to purchase them as they work perfectly for my situation. I also use them to burn Game Development Software that I created and ship the DVD to customers that purchase my software. I have never been contacted by a customer that couldn't use the DVD+R so they are highly compatible with other DVD drives.I've used them on a ASUS Server PC burning DVD Videos, and Data discs. I've used them on my Toshiba Laptop to burn DVD Videos and Data discs. Finally I've just stated using them with my Acer Aspire One AO725-0899 to burn data and backup discs and they have worked perfectly with my 3 systems.I have discs that I've burned 6-7 years back and they still work 100% in all of the various PC based systems that I've upgraded to over the years, so they are very compatible with other systems and not just limited to the system that they were burned on. 5MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT This product was, unfortunately, a huge disappointment. I will be inserting photos at the end of this letter. there were so many DIFFERENT things wrong with these disks that it seems as if all the rejects were gathered up and put on one spindle and sent to me.The bad part of all this was that I made my families videos from them and many had to be tossed in the trash.the discs had all different scratches, chips in the center where the silver was completely missing, a few of them you could even read the word DVD that was printed on the front thru the back of the disc. The thing that threw me the most, however, was the imprint of the AMERICAN FLAG IN FULL COLOR on the back of the disc.I don't know what all you folks are doing in the manufacturing of these DVD's, but after actually THROWING OUT approximately 16 discs before I realized it was a major problem and started going thru them. I have included a picture of the rest that are no good;So there are approximately 41 discs out of the 100 that I ordered that are no good. Thanks for taking the time to read this.Alyce Sprinkle 1These work great! I've burned through 10 of these at 16x speed and no failures or flops. The included spindle with cover makes for easy storage, especially afterwards I can reuse this spindle and even write on the spindle cover to let me know what is inside this 100-disc of burned goodness. No issues. Very satisfied. 5ReMemberex this! These DVDs may not Digitally Video to Disc. I would have preferred to give this item 0 stars but that isn't possible, for certainly it deserves it. Fully 11 discs from the top down out of 32 which I have used or "tried" to use have not worked at all. Not in a desk top, not in a laptop, and not in a freestanding VHS to DVD recorder which I use to transfer relatives' and customers' home movies to DVDs. If they had failed in only one machine, I would have blamed that machine, if all had failed, I would have guessed the technology changed, but no, some work, sometimes, in some machines, so obviously many of the discs are just lemons. And how do I return the product? I had already opened the package, thrown away the shipping carton, and had used and GIVEN away to my relatives 4 discs, before I realized so many were useless. Will not purchase these again! 1Product good, packaging bad the actual CDR+ are excellent and am able to use with no problems. however, the package and the case the came in were damaged upon receipt. top was damaged and I had to find a different way to open the package. the screw on top was damaged. if the shipping package is not upgraded, I wont buy again. 3Flawless error free burning with no coasters There is really no need for a long review here, it's actually pretty simply.I use these disks for data, music and movies. I've recently gone through seven spindles of these disks, the Memorex DVD plus R model number 32025621, and out of 700 disks, not a single coaster. There was one disk with a very minor scratch on it but I may have done that myself. Aside from that, every single disk burned flawlessly to create copies of my entire DVD archive.I still have about fifty more movies to go, but of the 700 movies and maybe two additional spindles I used to backup data and music over the last year, I honestly have not had a single disk that failed due to being a bad disk. I'm never buying any other DVD disk unless these become unavailable. 5Blank DVDs Who couldn't use a supply of DVDs, if there are "Finished" irreplaceable Documents, pictures, etc. that you don't want to loose, back them up on DVD+Rs. Those items that may change need to be backed up on a Thumb-drive or an external hard-drive. Sure, there are rewriteable DVD+RWs, but first look up how this is accomplished.Plus: some programs are transferred in an ISO format, this is a disk image that must be burned to a disk before it can be used. There are programs called "virtual" DVD-drive that will also let you use an ISO file as if it were a "real" DVD in a "real" DVD-drive. 3Works Great; but not anymore in 2015. Beware, dual-layer coasters only! I never have any problems by using Memorex DVD media. That statement was true when it was posted August 2014; as of about November-December of 2014 their media products (by production methods) suddenly changed for the worse, much worse. It was then that I also noticed that there were now two companies on the label of the product (in fine print) that weren't there before, and the next Memorex DVD+R dual-layer discs that I purchased always failed at the layer split; so I returned them to Amazon.com, and permanently swore-off ever buying any Memorex products of ant type again. It's a sneaky switch on the customers, and I've seen it happen overnight on cheaper brands; we're being sold-out, without any warning, don't settle for it! 1Great Blank DVD's These are probably the best inexpensive DVD's you can buy. I have used about 400 of them so far. Maybe 1 at the most out of every 100 pack is "bad", IF THAT. I pop these in and my computer immediately recognizes them and burns quick. I've tried several other brands, and the computer takes longer to recognize and they all have a higher percentage of bad discs in the batch. And the front of these discs are basically plain, with just a very small memorex logo and "dvd+r" written. That may not matter much to some people, but i hate when my back ups look like blank dvds with brand names and writing all over them. These are just plain simple discs that work 99% of the time or more. They come in a pretty solid plastic spindle that you can keep for storing your backups if necessary too. I've burned probably 800+ dvds, and these are my first choice, you cant beat the combination of price and quality. 5
