Customer Reviews

My favorite work gloves. These are great gloves and they are very comfortable. Sizing felt right - a lot of XXL gloves I tried were way too small but these actually fit my hands perfectly. I know they are 'tactical gun gloves' but these are my favorite pair of work gloves.I wish they had touch screen capacitors so I didn't have to remove the gloves to answer a phone call. That's my only complaint, other than that I really love them.5Solid gloves I wanted gloves that would serve two needs. Motorcycle gloves and all purpose gloves for the field as basic military issued gloves are not too great. With thick rubber-like impact resistant padding covering the knuckles and down the fingers you got all the important areas covered. However, do know that the index finger and knuckle are not covered in the same material and this is a great design in my book. There is still just enough padding on the index knuckle for some protection but the index trigger finger is free to allow for unrestricted movement for the most part. While it probably doesn't help much I am 5'9 and a lean 170lbs and the medium fits me perfectly. The only gripe I have about it is that the thumbs of the gloves seem are a bit too long. I have pretty average sized hands but I guess I might just have shorter thumbs I suppose. All in all, its a solid pair of gloves. 4Not as good as the old ones I have worn these for years and the newest version are a bit disappointing compared to the past model. The knuckle padding is very nice and has saved my hands a few times already. The stitching has held together so far but I have yet to really put them through anything I would consider to be extreme. The biggest flaw in these is the index and thumb. On the previous model of these they were reinforced with leather that also provided an added amount of grip. These have a few stripes each of a leather like material that does not aid traction in the slightest. I understand they were probably designed with the idea of a touch screen in mind though I really don't see the need for that trend. Other than that they work fine. 3Good tactical gloveGood tactical glove. Provides a great thermal barrier within reason. I was stuck in the turret mount when the day started and it was 45, they kept my fingers warm enough. Later in the day it was 70 and they weren't hot.Moves and flexes without bunching or pulling. Velcro held really well.Only negative is that the tip of the trigger finger is just a little bulky so putting your finger into the trigger guard area isn't 100% smooth. But I would recommend and buy again if needed. Might just go with the next size down.5Very comfortableAfter trying another pair of gloves from Amazon that have some weird ridges on the knuckles I decided to try these. They are much more comfortable. The touch screen finger works great for using my GPS on my phone while riding my motorcycle. I was right in between a large and XL and I went up in order to have more flexibility in the gloves while riding.5These keep my hands warm and safe! I love using these at the shooting range in colder weather, and I actually prefer to drive using these in any weather because I like how they grip the steering wheel quite a lot. It's a bit tough to use a phone with these but honestly trying to use any gloves that aren't just those thin knitted cold-weather gloves is going to be challenging. Compared to other gloves I've used, these perform completely satisfactorily when using them on my Galaxy s7. There is substantial silicone rubber padding on the backs of the fists, which you would think ends up limiting mobility, but actually really doesn't limit mobility at all. The way that these are made makes it super easy to grip things, make a fist, point fingers, and perform any normal tasks with your hands. These easily fit inside my glove box and my back pocket despite all the padding. I'm very impressed with these gloves. 5really nice gloves. Mine appear to be the real dealOverall, really nice gloves. Mine appear to be the real deal, not fakes as some others have unfortunately received. They are comfortable gloves and appear of very good quality. Only complaints are the rubber on the knuckles does not offer much extra protection, the XLs are a little big in in some fingers and the velcro strap is under the inside of the hand, not on top of the wrist (opens when trying to reach in pocket).4Fit is right in line with other Mechanix gloves.Mechanix would do well to create gloves that are specifically for male or female customers. Notice the difference in the lengths of my fingers and the fingers of the gloves. There is a great difference in the lengths. Unisex gloves do not fit men or women well. Men and women have distinctly different finger length proportions. With that said, these gloves fit very much like the other Mechanix gloves I have had. They are a bit tighter because they are stiffer due to the padding. If the finger lengths were more specific to a man's or woman's finger proportions, these would definitely be a 5 star product.4Great gloves for a wide variety of use cases.I've been wearing these for years. I primarily use them to ride motorcycles when its warm outside as they are exceptionally comfortable. I actually recently crash tested them when someone pulled out in front of me while I was traveling around 65 mph causing a low side and a long slide on the cement. The rubber protection on the back did an excellent job of protecting the back of my hand. The rubber was almost ground all the way off from sliding on one glove but it held up. The palm though ripped during the slide on the right glove and exposed my palm to the asphalt. It held up for a majority of the slide though greatly minimizing the abrasion I was left with. I took these gloves far beyond their intended purpose and would definitely buy them again.5OK first dayUpdate: Still have a snug / tight fit after a few days of use. The snug fit seems to make sense. They are designed to absorb impact. So, I'm happy with them. Only issue I have now is they are hard to wear with temps floating around 100.Was concerned about knock offs and decided to try. If you look up mechanix.com you will find they make over 15 different M-Pact gloves. If you compare make sure you compare the same name. In my case I bought " Tactical Impact gloves". Look at the second line under M-Pact to find the "model" of the glove. Comparing pictures on there website to my gloves they do look like the real deal. Only complaint I have after the first day is they seem to run on the small size. I have used a few different brands, and types of disposable work gloves over the years. Have always found XL fit the best. I ordered my M-Pact's in XL and they do fit but tight. Maybe stretch out in time?4Not for extreme use, but great when used within the intended limits of the product. I will start by saying that these gloves are great, if you use them in their proper applications. I bought my first pair (they were $25 on Amazon at the time) with the mindset that I was paying for a bombproof pair of paw protectors. My intended application was for survival/bushcraft/extreme outdoor use. On the first outing, during which I was extensively testing several bladed tools, the stitching failed at the palm near the thumb. This happened within a few hours of hard use, and I can honestly say that I was extremely disappointed, having expected much more durability for the price I paid. Now fast forward to the present, and I was once again in need of a good set of gloves (this time fingerless) for my job (FedEx Ground delivery). I went back and forth on a bunch of options on Amazon, but finally and a bit reluctantly decided to give Mechanix another try. This time knowing that my applications wouldn't be quite as strenuous, and understanding that the gloves were made specifically for mechanics who require protection from slippage and knuckle-busting (much like working with the very pinch-happy dolly I inherited, and all the other hand related injuries that come with slinging heavy boxes all day). And so it's been a couple of weeks and I am happy to report that the gloves are holding up beautifully and have saved me several blood blisters from that dilapidated Magliner. So to sum it up, if you are looking for extreme use gloves I would recommend some heavy duty gardening/work gloves above these. That is what I have replaced these with for outdoor use, specifically concerning the repetitive friction of hand tools. But if you just need to protect your skin from the daily hazards you face while working with your hands, these do the job fantastically. Still a little pricey, but if they're going to last I won't complain. 4Good protection but at a priceThese lasted about 3 months of general use. With flatbed truck straps, just securing my load and tightening my straps with my bar. Very light use and they started to stitch out from the extra cloth on the pads then holes started to appear where they are no longer usable.Pros-ComfortableDurable to an extentMaterial is good with oils and liquidsCons-Stitching sucksMpact is pretty pointlessDexterity isn t goodGoing to try their leather mpact now....let s see how it does4Good for hurricane shutter installation right before a storm I only do work around the house, but during last hurricane season I helped my neighbors put up their shutters, and these gloves were excellent for this purpose. The shutters are aluminum, and can get hot in the FL sun, but these babies were an excellent thermal barrier. The shutters sometimes have sharp edges, but these guys protected my hands the entire time.Admittedly, I was not doing anything tactical with them, but what I asked of them they did well.Dexterity was not great, but I was looking for protection so it was a trade-off I was wiling to accept. 5Durable enough for a Spartan I have wimpy skin on my hands, so I got these for a Spartan. They don't dry quickly, which is a con, but everything else about them worked really well for my race. I stashed them in my hydration pack as I raced and pulled them out for the obstacles that I needed them on. They provided protection and grip as needed. They were a good size for my hands (I wear a medium latex glove so I ordered a medium in these). They are just a tiny bit long on my fingers, but when my hands swelled up from the heat and running around, they were the perfect size. They were easy to clean at the cold wash station and then I threw them in the washer and air dried them when I got home. I did not get a chance to try the touchscreen capability so I can't speak to that. 5Fake, knock off gloves These gloves are not the real mechanix gloves that they described. The gloves that I got were fake knock off's and were falling apart in the first hour that I was wearing them as you can see in the pictures. At a closer look at the gloves they don't say Mechanix on the velcro, they actually say Mechamix. Also on the knuckle part of the gloves wear there supposed to say Impact, they actually say Mpact. I would not buy anything from the people who sold these. I am very disappointed that people are actually selling these to people. 1BEWARE!! KNOCK OFF!!BEWARE!! KNOCK OFF!! Bought these for my husband for riding a motorcycle. What I received was a cheap knock off of the glove. The padding was unevenly cut and the M-Pact material immediately started coming off of the gloves, both gloves. A small part was off when I took them out of the packaging. When I went to Walmart, which I should have done first, the M-Pact material was almost melted to the glove not just cheaply glued to it! Also, the glove said extra large but it was the fit of a large so it did not fit correctly. I have bought many Mechanix Gloves over the years and this is the first from here. Needless to say, never again!! Please see pics...1Good gloves, hot though. These gloves are good, and do tend to reduce the impact, but all that impact material is also a very good insulator - even at 40 degrees Fahrenheit my hands sweated a lot using lawn and garden tools with minimal exertion. They are NOT touch screen friendly either. BUT, they are comfortable, they do accommodate large hands with small wrists, and appear to be well made. They also seem to be oil and gas resistant, which was an unexpected plus - more impervious than deerskin leather gloves that have been treated with waterproofing! Update 6/8/18 The first pair of wore out stitching came apart in the palm that was holding in the impact resistant material and it came out. I found that without that there I was feeling every hammer blow Jar my entire arm so I bought two more pair . I am not happy that they failed so quickly , but I can't do the amount of work without them that I can with them .4
