Customer Reviews

Glorious Heartache Didn't game with this, used it at work for a year. Space bar broke so did enter key, replaced the switches did not resolve the issue which was a major bummer because I LOOOVVVEEEEDDDD THIS KEYBOARD!! IT WAS BEAUTIFUL, the kind of luminous beauty you find in a sunset after a storm. The brushed metal sparkled the LEDs in grand reflections. It literally stopped people in a distance on tours through our building it was so vibrant. I miss it so much. Got a Redgragon RGB whose colors pale in comparison. If only my Eagle had handled the switch replacements. I also LOVED THE echoing clickety clack as I typed my 116wpm. It became a running conversation how the speed of type gave away my emotional state, helping my employees gage their approach.I want to recommend a purchase however I am unsure how many other people had a permanent issue with functionality. It wasn't the key caps or any messes as I don't eat at my desk and I do air can dust regularly. So in a fit of defeated rage and heart ache I demolished the hell out of that keyboard and nothing stood out as odd or cheap. Just got the shit end of the stick. Other people at work got one, to torment me. They gleefully click away in rebellion to me. To show the Keyboard itself picks its owner, who it will work for, be loyal to. 3Mostly great. Like it so far, only thing is the noise, you can hear this thing 2 rooms away when you type, The action on the keys is great, and its well lit in normal backlight mode. One thing for the manufacture, for some of the programmable functions the keys will only back light a limited amount, you cannot increase the light level the full brightness. Another negative is the caps lock and screen lock function indicator lights are placed so close to these high profile keys you cant see them unless you are looking right down on the keyboard.Little things like that are the only reason for the 4 stars, over all its a good board. I love the sturdy metal casing. 4This is a nice entry-level mechanical keyboard for the money This is a nice entry-level mechanical keyboard for the money. I've been using it for 10+ hours daily since purchase (about 2 months) and its still going strong. I wish they'd have just one backlight color, the rainbow effect is a bit annoying and certain colors are way too bright but otherwise the programmable key lights are pretty handy. I have one backlight setup for programming and another setup for FPS games. Its pretty loud/clicky of course but thats what I wanted, and as long as your office/bedroom/whatever has a door it shouldn't disturb your neighbors much. It has cherry mx blue knock-off switches.EDIT: For some reason, it turns out the switches are soldered to the board on the one I received. After a spill, I can no longer fix the keyboard because I can't pull the switches. Pretty disappointing... 2switches fell really nice and its smaller then i thought it would be PRO's.....very well made with aluminum top panel, with steel pack plate covered with plastic......switches fell really nice and its smaller then i thought it would be.....buttons have a nice feel to them and feel better placed then a lot of other keyboards.....A REAL MECHANICAL 10 KEYLESS KEYBOARD FOR UNDER A 100 BUCKS!!!.....there is nothing you cant fix on it....the cable is soldiered in to the board at wide spaces making replacement EASY and the switches can be changed.....ITS A TANK im going to call mine sherman......CON's......this is just me but i thought the LED's were built in to the switches and was under the thinking i would be able to move the groupings of colors around....the LED's are NOT part of the switches and are soldiered to the base circuit board so the colors stay the same no matter what switch you put in......the other thing that sucks is it goes back to base settings every time the PC is booted.....if you have it set to the lowest light level on flashing on shut down it will be solid max brightness when you reboot the PC......final thoughts......i dont know if i would have gotten the LED version if i had know the LED would not move.....not really a fan of what looks like mexican Xmas lights in the pattern of colors but the over all build of the keyboard its self is worth a 100 bucks if you ask me....i have had 100 dollar plus boards from other makers that did not feel this well made....and with the spar switches and the fact i can swap out broken switches or ones that have worn out i will have this keyboard for at least 10 years....... 5Well worth its price Came on time and no damage was done, switches all work, backlights work, and it feels amazing. Outemu blue switches are very loud so be warned.Functions of the keyboard that i have found so far for those who need help (some of these aren't mentioned in the manual) :Fn+Ins=9 different back light modesFn+1-8=8 different gaming back light modesFn+9 and 0=custom back light mode (how to set use Fn+9 or Fn+0 will be at the end)Fn+ScrLk=turns on N-key Rollover (basically no ghosting)Fn+W=wasd and arrow keys switch placesFn+Windows Key=locks windows keyHow to set up custom back light mode: Press Fn+9 or Fn+0 and then press Fn+Home which will start the custom backlight mode and you can press each key to either turn on the back light or off. When your back light is set up to your desired preference, press Fn+End to save your settings. 5Fantastic mechanical keyboard, feels really high quality! This is the best "low priced" mechanical keyboard you can buy. The quality at this price point blows me away. They put so much work into this product it feels like a real high quality product. I have used some more expensive mechanical keyboards with Cherry MX Blues and they feel like there is no difference between the off brand Cherry Blues and the real switches. The keys feel very durable and nice to type on. I like how they include a keycap and switch puller as some higher priced mechanical keyboards I have don't even include the tools! One thing to note, the backlighting may be "multicolor", however the colors CAN NOT be changed! This is not a big deal to me as at least it is backlit at this price point and it still looks pretty cool. There are many modes to change through for the backlighting. (I do not use these when I am typing because it gets really distracting, however when the computer is in sleep I put on one of the modes and the keyboard looks really cool!I would highly recommend this keyboard to anyone that wants a nice mechanical keyboarding with back lighting and is nice quality. 5Great mechanical keyboard, certainly comparable to much more expensive models. Great keyboard, If you are looking for a true mechanical keyboard this one makes for a great entry option. Sound levels are not too loud (Though they are certainly louder than rubber membrane keyboards) and the tactile feedback is top notch. Led lighting colors are not changeable with each row having its own fixed color which is not a problem for me but might put some people off. (Can be turned off entirely)That said it has several gaming layouts easily accessed by holding down the FN key and pressing the 1-9 number keys. It also features several " lighting animations" that can be selected by holding down FN key and pressing the INS key to cycle between them. If you don't like the lighting or find it too bright you can adjust it (Or turn it off completely) by holding the FN key and pressing the up or down keys respectively. There is no software to deal with and no drivers to install so its simply plug and play. I have been using this keyboard for a few weeks now and the quality is great, its mostly made of quality plastic but the top plate is actual metal giving it some decent weight. It doesn't slide around and feels very comfortable to type on. 5Seriously a great board I got this keyboard to be a secondary board to my Quickfire Rapid TKL brown switches. It quickly replaced it.The only reason my brown switches board gets pulled back out is when the click from this board is too loud for people around me. Definitely not quiet switches. But I wanted them loud and I wanted to feel the click, so these switches are pretty perfect. They're knockoffs and that's why the board is so cheap. But if I recall reading they're still tested for 20 million clicks.I also like that the board comes with 5 extra switches you can use to replace ones that might die on you. This is extremely awesome because most boards that a switch dies on you, you're kind of SOL. Mega plus points for this board. The faceplate is metal which is amazing. My 90$ quickfire rapid was just like some matte plastic and I didn't like that.Cons: and there is a con, the wire for the board is non removable like most boards these days that have a female microUSB port. Hardwired I don't prefer, but hey.Oh and the RGB leds are non customizable but comes with like 20 preloaded profiles...I don't really use RGB so I don't care, but at night I like to light them all up and it for sure helps to see. Might be a deal breaker for some that you can't customize the colors, but it looks fine the way it is imo.If you have been wanting a mechanical keyboard and don't want to shell out premium prices 80$-200$, this OR the kurama dragon are the boards you should be looking at. My brother owns the kurama and loves it, I have never tried it. The eagle is an awesome board and the price is seriously shockingly low for how nice it is.I was NOT paid or given this board to be reviewed, I purchased it for 40$ to be used daily for gaming. Worth. 5Great keyboard. I'll age myself. In 1966 I learned typing on a Remington typewriter in high school in preparation for college. Later on I moved on to the IBM Selectric keyboard. With my first few computers the keyboard was laid out on the IBM style keyboard. Along comes Apple, Inc. The old MacBook Pro had a respectable IBM type key board. Now no Apple computer has this style keyboard. All are the flat, small, and squeezed together keys. I could never type adequately with the Apple keyboards. After searching for the old style keyboard I came across this and immediately ordered it. My 40-45 words per minute are back and with very few mistakes. The feel is great and the clicking keys tell me I've hit the key. As in another review the Apple option and command key are backwards for the Mac OS on this keyboard. I plugged the keyboard into my external USB hub and went to reboot into my Bootcamp hard drive by holding down the option key. Didn't work. I experimented and plugged the keyboard directly into the iMac and restarted. Holding down the keyboard Alt (option Mac key) did bring up the start screen where I could choose my hard drive. Evidently, the response/access time of the keyboard was slowed down by the external USB hub. Plugged directly into the computer it was fine. The review is being typed with the new keyboard and it is a pleasure to type again. In the dark you can see your keyboard with the computer on. Each key row is lite by a different color bulb. 5A very handsome keyboard. A nice colorful keyboard.Nice solid build. It has rubberized prop up feet so it won't slide around when typing.Comes with a few extra switches to swap out for whatever reason. All I can say,This keyboard spoiled my fingers where rubber domes feel squishy to me. All the videos I've watched about mechanical keyboards - they were right. Mechanical FTW!!!The Logitech G203 8000dpi (with firmware update) gaming mouse pairs pretty nicely with this keyboard. Don't buy the other trash mice please.I give this keyboard four stars because it came with a few smudges near the F1 and F12 keys. (Looked like a dent for a second. Thank heavens it wasn't.) Smudges came off pretty fine with some glass cleaner. This just goes to say you might receive a keyboard with cosmetic defects (worse than mine). There's no "RGB" about this than the keyboard being rainbow. Colors can't change. It's rainbow. It has a few cool effects for the lights like breathing and fade side to side, though. If you have any questions about this keyboard, are curious about this keyboard, want to know more about this keyboard or the mouse, or would like more pictures, comment on my review and let me know! 4
