There are only two risers on the bottom of the seat towards the front, leaving a large gap between the risers and the hinges for a easy breaking point. 3Updated to 5 Stars The STA-TITE parts for securing the toilet seat were incomplete. Only one of the two special and patented nuts required to tightened the toilet seat had the necessary spacer. I could not tighten the toilet seat and prevent it from wobbling without both of the special patented nuts. The attached photo shows one of the specially designed long nuts missing the spacer.UPDATE: I value customer support greatly. After phoning Mayfair and receiving terrific support to get the missing part, I have upgraded my rating to 5 stars. This is a very good Toilet Seat...with excellent customer support from Mayfair. 5Overall a nice item that the company stands behind. Fits well, nice looking, easy to install, comfortable. I have been using several for a number of years with no problem. When one did crack within the year warranty the company quickly and with no hassle replaced it. 4My new favorite seat I ordered this after reading reviews and was tired of buying seats from our local Walmart every couple of months.Our Walmart seats would come loose and then break at the hinges. We tried everything to fix this, but nothing worked.I am happy to report that this has not happened at all with this seat. It's built well. No tightening after initial install has been needed, and it's still standing strong. We are a family of 5, so this seat gets a lot of use. Worth the cost. 5Returning it for a refund and I'll check into another brand with better quality. Arrived with a broken front portion of the seat. Looking it over further the visible part of the hinges are chrome/metal but the hinges themselves are made out of plastic, so I'm not interested in a replacement. Lasted a week. Bought two of these and one broke within a week. Missed the return window and now I'm out $24. 40 years of life and first time we've had a toilet seat break. Avoid this one!! 1What I wanted, but arrived with a scratch already. The seat is what I expected and easy to attach to the toilet. That said. While, the packaging wasn't damaged in any way, the seat came with scratch right on the top. It's a pretty obvious scratch and I see this as a quality control issue. It's honestly not worth my time to return as I have to drive 30 minutes to the nearest UPS drop point. I went ahead and attached the seat for use, but wanted everyone to know that it could come damaged even though packaging was good. 2QA Failure The hardware for this was supposed to include four plastic pieces. My package consisted of three great parts, and one unformed plastic blob shown in photo. Ugh. Decided to try the install anyway, using the bushing from the old seat. Not into returning the whole seat just to replace one tiny part. Annoying, but we'll see how it holds up. 1
