Joke of a lock Bought these locks for the gym but turns out to be a joke. They are really small & can be popped open with a moderate tug. Used these for only a handful of times since purchased in July & 2 out of 3 broke already (red one works, purple arm broke off, and blue pulls open without combination). See photo attached. 1Small, Cheap, and All With Same Combination Three stars for two reasons. Firstly, completely my fault, these are all set to the same combination which it clearly states in the description. Nonetheless, it makes it worthless for most uses I can derive. Secondly, and more appropriately, I have to dock a couple stars for quality. They get the job done, but they are no longer "Master Lock" products. These, and the 1500D models, are much cheaper made than the locks from five years ago. I have purchased several for a breakout game (why same combinations stink in my case) and the comparison of quality between these and the previous generation is sadly evident. Next, these (again as plainly stated) are "mini" locks which made them too small for a few applications that the 1500D models worked for. Finally, do not attempt to secure anything valuable with a Master brand combination lock. Google it - they are very simple to defeat (which is a plus when you have some old ones lying around the house you want to re-purpose :) 3Extremely Disappointed I bought these locks because I have always trusted MasterLock brand, however, these locks failed me. All three locks came with defects. The locks would not lock properly and they were difficult to open when entering the proper combination. The red one even broke when I opened it. Stay away from these locks!!!! 1Love That All Three Locks Have the Same Combination Love that you get three. Love the colors. Love that you don't have to memorize different combinations. Loved that they are compact, but not too miniature. I used one for a large-sized gym locker, but these locks could be used for other types of storage as well (backpacks, file containers, etc.).(I'm baffled by the price though, this was about $5 when I purchased the set.)****Used at a gym and these are one of the easiest locks to get into as you can feel the combination. Unfortunately I have to knock down the stars as the purpose of a locker is to store things away securely. Luckily, the gym owner did the test, and not a thief. 2I hadve had these for 2 years and now dont like them Unlike previous Master locks that last forever, the quality of these (now made in China not Milwaukee) is not up to par. They drift over time, and also become stuck. I am getting rid of them to replace with regular Master locks. It was nice to have three with the same combination, and the colors are cool, but the durability and difficulty opening them over time are too high of a concern. I spent 10 minutes today trying to open them (and it is not just one of the three locks) but they do get stuck. Never had that with Master locks before. I also could tell from day 1 they did not seem as rugged and well made. I will go back to standard size Master Lock, hopefully the quality of these has not dropped. 2A great deal Most schools charge anywhere from $5-10 for "rental" of their locks, and you have to return them at the end of the school year with no reimbursement. This is a great deal because it costs about the same for three locks and they are yours to keep. Which means all three of our kids will have locker locks as they go into high and middle schools. They are a good stock lock, which is known for the Master brand, and will absolutely last all four years for us. 5... I thought and don't send to be of very sturdy construction but if u are using them to protect ... They are smaller than I thought and don't send to be of very sturdy construction but if u are using them to protect minor things then it's fine. I have it on a gym locker in a place where the only locker thefts are unlocked ones since most people don't lock their stuff up at all. So having a combo lock is convenient so I don't have to worry about hanging onto a key in the pool. I wouldn't think it would offer much in the way of protection for anything of value however. Good thing all 3 locks have the same combo so I have a chance of remembering it 4Decent, cheap locks When we received these locks, one of them would not unlock. The code to unlock the others did not work, nor any numbers "near" it. Didn't care enough to return the item as we only needed two, but I didn't appreciate the quality escape.Or more accurately i didn't appreciate the (rather long) rant my wife went on about how the locks dont work, when the first lock she brought with her to the gym happened to be the one that didn't work. I cant say I blame her for her frustration.Other than that, they work. The code cant be changed, but I knew that when I bought them. 3I didn't like the mini size I was more attracted to the three colors in one pack and failed to take notice their size. Now someone correct me if I am wrong but the dimensions in the description are not correct as they are stated the same for both these mini-locks and the larger standard lock. You must go by the dimensions diagram which is the bottom image in the column on the far left. Anyway they should be OK for some applications but I fear they may be too small to hang straight down on gym lockers versus the standard size lock since the shackle is of greater length. Finally, I haven't opened a combination lock in many years so it took some practice to get them unlocked. These being so much smaller just made the task even more awkward so I'm going to get one in the standard size. 3Five Stars perfect gym lock!!! btw if you are using a mac air 11" this is what you gonna get. 5
