    solid bright just right~ I would have given 5 stars but as others have noted, the cord is very short. Too short to sit on my bedside table and reach the outlet without an extension cord. Other than that, this lamp is a very good value. It's solidly built. I like the simple on/off switch on the base, instead of the switch on the cord itself that many lamps like this have. It is attractive, especially the 'shade'. So many LED lamps have that flat paddle like light source that is really ugly. The light cast is bright and does not flicker, as advertised. The lamp stays cool. It is great for a small space. I'm happy with this one and can recommend it~ 4Nice for work but bluish DAY color disrupts sleep hormones I wanted this on my nightstand for reading in bed. Unfortunately, it is a white-bluish DAY light bluish color 5500 (not stated in the Amzn primary description, only if you click on Product Details) rather than the traditional soft yellow-white light. DAY-type lighting has been shown to disrupt sleep hormones. ..very BAD for reading prior to sleep. Cell phone screens also have this color, and at least one company is offering software to reduce the blue component for nighttime use.My fault for not checking into further, but normally this type of information is in the headline or primary description. I am only writing this because I see several reviewers using it for night-time reading.As a work desk lamp, though, it works fine so far. 3Wonderful desk or bedside lamp I needed a small lamp for the computer desk but didn't want to spend a lot of money on one. This one seemed to fit the bill. The only issue I had before ordering was not understanding how bright a 5 watt LED would be in comparison to an incandescent bulb.After some research, I found out that a 5 watt LED is roughly equivalent to a 40 watt incandescent bulb. The light output is surprisingly bright and crisp. The lamp itself is very lightweight with an adjustable neck.Like any LED, there is a minor lapse in time from the moment you turn it on to when the bulb illuminates. This is very minor, less than a fraction of a second, but notable none the less. The nature of an LED bold is to not be influenced by hot or cold environments, and this lamp performs well in these conditions. Unlike fluorescent bulbs, no flickering or delays when turning it on in colder conditions. The LED does not appear to be replaceable and is sealed within the housing. The lifespan of a 5 Watt LED should be approx. 50,000 hours of operation.Like all LED lighting, this lamp, when turned on remains cool to the touch. I have had this lamp for about a year and waited to write this review after I had "put it through the paces", and have found no issues so far (use it about 6 to 7 hours / day)I do wish it had a longer electrical cord, but I ended up using an extension cord. (That's the only reason I have for the 4 stars) 4Good light projection. I use this as a bedtime reading light. The light is bright. The flexible arm allows you to place the light exactly where you want it. Good value. 5Nice design, bright light but very harsh light quality Essentially if you are just looking for a lamp that just needs to be a lamp and cheap, this is pretty good.As an LED light it produces no heat, saves energy and electricity and is a lot brighter compared other bulbs.Some cons are that it is pretty lightweight (meaning I knock it over quite a lot), it's not 'that' flexible, also a little smaller than standard desk lamps, and the light quality is very harsh (it's very industrial and makes a room feel very dreary) 4Perfect fo my Desk Small and unobtrusive. It is bright, has an accessible on/off switch, and complements the rest of my setup pretty nicely. The flexibility is a nice feature that allows for quick, fluid adjustments. It doesn't flicker and the cable is a good enough length to reach outlets from the table. Very simple design that just works.Only thing that might be a problem for some is that the LED doesn't look replaceable, but I am not 100% sure on this, and it is not an issue for me. 5Cool lamp, great lighting for my computer desk I received this lamp on May 31, 2014. Cool lamp, great lighting for my computer desk. Cord short though. Had to use and extension cord which was no big deal. On July 2, 2014, it just stop working and can't find bulb for it and can't even get the bulb out. Very disappointed. It lasted 33 days. 1Great for reading, gives off no heat, PS it lasts 2 months My wife needed a lamp for reading that gives off no heat as it would be on a bedside table close to her, and there are very few LED lamps that plug in to a wall socket. This lamp works well but we have a concern that the bulb does not look replaceable. I know they are suppose to last a long time but we had a prior one that did not, and we had to scrap the whole lamp. Update: It failed in 2 months of infrequent use, and the bulb is not replaceable. The prior one by the same supplier lasted about 1 year to the same end. Not worth the trouble. 1Perfect desk lamp for the price, including the light bulb!!!! I'm the type of person who prefers to have a desk lamp along with other ambient room light. I fell for this lamp because of its modern look, the LED 5 watt lightbulb and the switch.The LED Lightbulb included made me feel as if we were made for one another. It perfectly lit my work area without overpowering it with a too powerful bulb. It put off the softer warm light that I prefer while still being a very efficient LED Bulb. I especially liked the On/Off Switch and it's placement with the switch being a Toggle Type instead of the archaic wheel which was placed on the lamp base.Being a modern design, this is the perfect lamp for any home/work office or on any desk for that matter. The design is great as it allows to match a wide range of decor. The build quality and materials was also great with nothing to desire as were the well thought out packaging materials.My lamp is still putting in work years later, on the same bulb too!!! I will gladly put in the "Highly Recommend" category. 5
