Customer Reviews

Great plug First off, this plug has certainly exceeded my expectations. I use it on my pickup as a replacement for the block heater power connection. That being said, it has survived several years of very hot and very cold climates. The cap still functions great, and has kept out dirt and bugs without issue. It was manufactured well and was quite easy to install. Cut a hole, put the tightening ring over your wires, place the plug in the hole, tighten the ring, and voila, a great looking connection point.I wouldn't hesitate to buy another one. 5Quality Onboard Charger Port Though offered as a factory option, my Crownline 215SS was not equipped with the onboard charger. I decided that this was something I wanted on the boat since the boat spends almost half the year laid up in storage. I purchased and installed a ProMariner ProSport 20 charger and wanted a better way to plug it in than running an extension cord out under the engine cover.I got this charger port, and to prevent having to cut the factory plug off of the charger, bought a short marine-grade extension cord and cut the end off of that. I hard wired that cord into the back of this outlet, and then simply plugged the charger into that.It installed easily (once I got over using a hole saw on my brand new boat ) and feels like a quality product. I liked the water resistant boot they provided for the back of the inlet. It's given me no reason to doubt that it will serve it's purpose for quite some time. 5Great product I got this for my Dad's boat. The internal plug broke on his boat. We were looking into just replacing the inside plug but they we came across the whole assembly. I checked to make sure it was the exact this and it was! Ordered one in asap and installed it when we installed a new on board charger. This was so easy to swap out and fit perfectly in the hole the other unit came out of. The wiring was super simple considering the plug bag is color coded on which wires to put where. The plug even has a guide to show you how much to strip off your wires. I can believe this will work for years to come considered the original one lasted 8 years. I have to say this to that this plug in is used probably 2-3 times a week spring through fall so it gets a work out. It seems to seal nicely and keep the water out while the boats on the water and trailer. 5Highest quality - no hesitation in recommending This plug was the perfect answer to relocating the plug in point of the block heater on my GMC Duramax. I back in my driveway every night and installing this plug in the back bumper has made it easier to plug in.Good quality all the way around with good connectors and very good rubber / plastic housing.1-7/8" hole saw is perfect cut out size.Pretty sure I the same unit is on my boat (1999) for the onboard battery charger. This plug is still working perfectly there. And that is after being wet, salty and plugged and unplugged 100's of times. Can't imagine a better built product for the use.And no, I did not receive this product for free or even at a discount. 5Works great for Excursion engine block heater! Love this! Easy to install, cur plug, drill hole, attach wires. I put on my 03 Excursion when I realized my plug end was shorting out and not working. Should have done this a long time ago! 5A great bulkhead high voltage solution. A great product, if a bit pricey. I've purchased two of these 120V inputs and both have worked superbly. One was used as a connection for my truck's engine block heater and the other for a tool trailer that has an onboard charging system. I can't say that I would trust the supplied rubber washer, which is integrated into the rubber cover, to hold a water-tight connection. However, the build quality and design of this fitting is top notch - ground, neutral, and hot are all clearly color-coded; wiring is set by turning the stainless set screws which compress two small stainless plates, allowing for a more secure connection than the traditional crush-under-a-screw solution; high impact plastic; galvanized, toothed ring washer for maximum sealing compression. I added dielectric grease within the wiring connections to minimize corrosion and maximize wiring and fitting lifespan. I would highly recommend this product. 4/5 with the only deduction being the elevated cost. 4Great product to keep block heater cords clean and secure I love these ports. In Alaska (and other cold areas), everyone has cords hanging out of their vehicles to power their block heaters. There's a few thing I dont like about that: one, the plug is exposed to the elements and can be damaged. Two, it looks foolish. I believe that replacing an extension cord every year or so is a waste of money, so I just purchased these and installed them on the bumper. Now I can cover the plug to keep the prongs clean and dry, and there's no need to fish for the cord in snow. And it just looks clean. I kiw Alaskans take great pride in their dangling cords, and yes, its an added cost for an aesthetic reason, but it looks better (in my opinion) and the prongs are nice and protected. (I did this on four vehicles). I recommedn it. 5Just What I Needed I purchased this to electrify my new small workshop. My workshop is next to my house but it was not electrified. I had an extension cord running from the front of my house into the workshop doors. The double doors were barely able to close with the cord running in between the two of them. I installed this inlet on the back of the workshop and am now able to run the extension cord from my house, out of the way, to the back of the shed. I added a switch plus two outlets. Just what I was looking for. The only slight problem I had installing it was it calls for a 1 7/8" hole to be made but I could not find a hole saw that size. They only sell 1 1/2" or 2" hole saw so I went with the 2". It worked fine except for the fact that one of the three mounting holes could not be used. No big deal since its also secured from the inside with a big nut (like a plumbing drain nut). 5Nice Item, Many Uses Other Than Marine and Generators I am a mobile disc jockey. I installed this on my stereo equipment console. Reviews of this item make it sound like it is a marine specific item for boats and trailer generators only. This inlet could be installed just about anywhere you would like a plug instead of a loose extension cord. It is relatively easy to install. It does require a 1 7/8 hole saw to fit properly. 1 7/8 hole saws are not a common size. The inlet is well made. I connected mine to a power strip in about five minutes. Just chop off the plug at the end of the power strip, strip the three wires. match the white, black, and green wires to the corresponding colored screws, and tighten down the screws. 5Good solution for those hanging heater cords i ordered two of these for my Mercedes Sprinter block and engine oil pan heater cords. I was tired of having the cords hang out of the grill, so I hole sawed my bumper and installed these with 1ft. extension cords in order not to cut my heater cords. the fit perfectly flush. only complaint was that the cap on one kinda started shifting out and eventually would pop it open. this defeates the purpose of being "weatherproof" but I took some RTV silicone and applied around the sealing edge of the cap, and that seems to have helped grip within the housing. a ridge grooved into the housng would probably help with retention. 3
