Good value speaker set if you manage your expectations My goal was to find a cheap pair of speakers that came with a subwoofer that sounded good as long as I didn't have to crank them up too loud. I purposely did not want to spend much $ on these since they were for a secondary system I only occasionally use so I took the chance. Maybe it was a result of having lowered expectations but these are actually really good speakers given the price point. I like the corded master volume control with headphone jack and honestly, I can crank them up as loud as I'd ever really want to. Clearly there are much better systems out there but if you really are just looking for a true budget friendly three speaker set then most people will be pleasantly surprised and satisfied with these. 4Bad construction but if it works, it's fine for confined setups This product is good for people who want subwoofer speakers but need a small unit. The desk in the photo measures roughly 2.5 feet from left to right, with a desktop right next to it. I would not recommend that you purchase this unless you are as limited in space like that. Most of the wires will have enough room to go from table to desktop port, but the power switch is a little shorter than I would prefer. It still works because if you have a compact workstation; you will be able to macgyver some sort of setup.Sound quality is OK. I was mostly looking for bass and find it satisfactory. However, this is no audiophile's setup. Physical sitting range of hearing is limited. Plain talking, such as YouTube videos, sounds clear but muted if that makes sense. At the same time, cranking the volume all the way up causes strain: The quality of intelligible sound becomes muffled despite overall noises getting louder. This would be fine if you wanted to listen to music while doing something else from 10 feet away, but I don't think it's enjoyable from 20-30 feet away.My unit came with a defective right satellite speaker, hence the bad construction. Two months in, the right speaker stopped working. I found that if I jiggled it and randomly mashed it around the point where the wire enters the subwoofer, then the sound returned. I can turn the speakers to specifically point left or right without issue, so the source of hocus pocus lies within the subwoofer. I avoid touching it at all costs. Furthermore, I suspect on some days that the sound from the right speaker is slightly lower than the left speaker. On other days, they are equally loud. I thought that I would have had to replace these not too long after discovering the right speaker defect, but it is still functioning over 2 years later (knock on wood). 3Great sound for low cost. With the new LED TVs they don't have speakers that work well on the smaller versions thus you need a soundbar. This one wasn't the most expensive but for what it cost it's well worth the money but don't expect the sounds that you would get from a more expensive one. We use it in a room that we don't watch TV that often and it works great. One thing is it doesn't have its own remote but in our case we don't need it. 4TRASH. Died after a year. The speakers have to be plugged in to the subwoofer to function properly. They cannot be plugged in to the volume controller. You get about 3' or so of cable from floor (sub) to desktop (speakers). Not ideal. I can tell the manufacturing on this was on a budget, too. Loose-ish permanent cable connections that make you question how long they will last if they get bumped around. Scratches on some of the plastic straight from the factory. I kinda wish I went for a more expensive set but this is acceptable. Maybe only for now, if you read some of the other reviews.EDIT: A year later, the left speaker only works SOMETIMES. Skip this model, try something else.EDIT 2: RIP. Tried to save money, ended up wasting it. Throwing these out and splurging on Creative. Will never buy another Logitech product, just the same shiny crap every time. 1SUPER GOOD FOR THE PRICE they are really good for there price. they get very loud before they lose any of the very good sound quality. the sub is very powerful, to a point that I have it turned almost all the way down. the highs are very good. the lower mids can be a little muddy, but the rest of the mids are good. and the loss are very good. the speakers plastic feel cheap, but they look very nice, like most Logitech products. and they have a nice weight to them. and the same for the sub. 5Good speakers for the $$ It has good base clean vocals and its small 5Before you buy, I bought 2 different units and compared them ... I just got this one and another similar 2.1 speaker unit to use with my kids two computers. I got two different ones cause I was curious to compare two similar units that are the same price. This one is fine for being so inexpensive, but not great by any means. I've had a number of 2.1 computer speaker setups over the years (most of them Logitech) and this is the worst of any I've had. It's very light weight to the point that the two speakers feel like cheap kid toys I sorta think kid toys generally feel more substantial actually. It is what it is, and that is a cheap 2.1 speaker system. It does it's job and I do like that it has a separate adjustment on the sub for the bass.HOWEVER, the other speakers I bought (Creative A250 2.1 Multimedia Speaker System) for the EXACT same price are much better quality and sound much better. Granted, the other ones are also $30 speakers so it's not like they are incredible, but they are better than the Logitech Z213. Before doing my sound test, just the feel of them screamed that the Creative A250 was better quality, but how they sound counts the most so I plugged them in right beside each other and used the same song with the speakers plugged into the same iPhone to compare the sound you know, cutting out all the variables ... cause I'm a little psycho I guess and the Creative A250 was clearly better (better meaning fuller and louder). So if you're going to spend $30 on a little 2.1 speaker system, I'd recommend the Creative A250 over this one. There's prob better ones out there too, but in comparing just these two the Creative A250 is hands down better. Hope that helps. 2Degrade quickly, speakers go in and out constantly I have had these speakers for months now at my work office and can give honest feedback about them. Out of the box, they were great, just wished the cords were a little longer. But within a month one of the speakers started going in and out. Found out it is in the connection of the volume/headphone unit. If I move that box around the speakers will cut in and out. I thought maybe I just had a defective unit until a coworker bought the same speakers a month ago and his are already doing the same. 2good speakers I like these speakers. The sound quality from the two satellite speakers are excellent. The treble is great along with the mids. The bass the sub-woofer produces is exceptionally good but not great. Would I buy again yes. I actually went from the logitech z323 to this set which is the z213. In comparison to the z323 the sound quality is better balanced and favorable over the z323 system. The reason I went from the z323 to the z213 is because I wanted something more compact and sleek. I didn't expect it so sound better but it does which is a plus. Now to the reason of the three star rating. The satellite speakers that sit on your desk had no rubber feet or pads to keep it in place. I had to go myself to the hardware store and buy my own rubber pads to apply to the bottom of the speakers to keep them from slipping everywhere. I also had to buy a 3.5mm extension cable for the satellite speakers to sub-woofer because the wire was too short to reach under normal placement. I also had to buy a 3ft power extension cord because the power cord itself was also too short to reach the wall socket. Where as with my previous set of speakers I didn't have those issues. Would I buy again? yes. Does it sound good? yes. Although because the lack of proper cable length and rubber feet at the bottom of the speakers, I give it a 3 out of five star rating. I hope this helps. 35 star pricing, 3 star quality. I am an average person, I do not review barely any technology but I do know that these speakers are a really solid deal. For the price they are they do sound really good, I have only one complaint with the sound and that is they do not handle loud volumes very well. That should probably be expected from speakers as cheap as these but it's worth the mention. For casual gaming and listening, they do not sound bad at all. The sub woofer adds a lot of fullness to the audio, it's definitely not just for looks, although these speakers definitely do not look bad at all.The connections are simple, maybe some wires are too long for my particular setup. One thing I have noticed is on the volume rocker that comes with the speakers, you want that to be turned up all the way all the time and adjust your volume manual via your computer's output volume. When I did this, the speakers sounded much, much better. It went from having some distortion at decent volume and raspy-ness to zero. You should always keep the volume knob on the little control up all the way!I am happy with this product. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a simple speaker setup at a low price for a relatively good sound. 4
