Customer Reviews

These things are awesome. Make sure you are getting the right add-a-circuit I bought the wrong one, but no reason to blame the product. CHECK YOUR FUSE BOX BEFORE YOU BUY THIS.These things are awesome. Make sure you are getting the right add-a-circuit. Both our Toyotas take APS/ATT mini low profile fuses. I did not realize my mistake as this was the first time I've fooled with fuses on my newer cars. The replacement I bought was perfect, though! 5Power on demand, wherever you need it! The first thing you need to check with the modern day cars... is WHICH fuses does your car have,,,All of my cars except one use this type of fuse. The car I intended to install this in, uses the mini-fuses. Therefore would not fit.I did however and up installing it in my truck, for whole other purpose.Works like a dream.Simply pull the fuse location you want to use. Plug this puppy in, plug the fuse you just took out into the empty hole, and select a fuse of the proper amperage to go in the outside slot nearest to the power wire that is coming out of it. Make sure whatever you are hooking up has a proper ground, and you are good to go! 4Works great and easy to install. Just got two to wire up a dashcam with battery saver. Picked this with recommendation from a friend. Seems to work pretty well as my fuse box is hidden behind a partition cover so it doesn't have clearance issues, therefore cannot comment on clearance. Seems the male connector itself is slightly shorter than the metal connector on the fuses, but it doesn't seem to be falling out after some use. The fuses it comes with, if you put them onto the sockets, there is no clearance between two fuses so removing them is a bit harder, but I was able to wiggle a burnt fuse out no issues. Also another review here mentioned it comes with instructions... neither one came with instructions or anything to indicate which is the original fuse, so I assumed it was like any other tap with the original going on the bottom (closer to the connector), seems to be working okay. Comes with easy to use crimp connector, so you'll likely need one of those crimpers or maybe a needle nose plier (should have the former if you're already stripping wires). Description says it can work with up-to 10 amp fuse, though my 20 and 40 amp fuses seem to work just fine, hopefully it's not a fire hazard or anything. As it's not really listed in the listing, the red wire is about six inches long with one inch for the crimp connector. 5Odd little thing I never knew existed, but thank god it does! Does exactly what is advertised. I popped in the correct amperage fuse and am running my dash cam off of this plugged into the same circuit as my radio. Key on = dashcam and radio come on, key out, dashcam and radio turn off.Great little thing for powering up permanently installed (or at least long term) aux devices if you don't want an ugly 12V lighter adapter plugged in all the time.Never knew these existed but I'm glad they do, they save a lot of potential for ugly wiring. When wiring check your manual but my dashcam is wired with the 12V on the tap lead (the red one) that outputs 12V hot, then the black lead off the dashcam is attached to the metal under my dash that makes up the dash's frame. 5Easy as cake This made my wiring job so much easier than finding a wire to tap into, plus you can remove it whenever you want.Keep in mind that this will stick out a lot more than a regular fuse. Make sure you have enough clearance between the fuse panel and the cover, otherwise you may find that you won't be able to close the cover/box (if applicable). My fuse panel is located behind a pull out coin holder. After I installed the Add-A-Circuit, the coin holder would not stay closed. In my situation, I was able to move the entire fuse panel back a little to provide the extra space needed for the cover/change holder to close. Also make sure youre buying the correct size for your car. (regular, mini, low profile, micro, etc...) 5Ingenious - didn't work for my application though I bought this to hook up an extra cigarette charger for my car's phone cradle. Unfortunately I didn't open my fuse box prior to purchasing and when I went to install, I found out it wouldn't work for me. Because this sits a little higher than a standard fuse, there are no spaces in my box that allow for it to fit (2001 Audi A4). Additionally, my car doesn't have any standard fuses under 15A and this device requires that it be under 10A each. They do make mini-ATM model for the smaller fuse types - turns out, this is what I need...Solid product to reduce wiring hassles though. 4Doesn't work as expected Dont know if its an issue with the one I got or all of them, mine will NOT send any current through the wire unless BOTH fuses are installed.I tried all combinations of both fuses, top fuse only, bottom fuse only using a DMM, not to mention seeing whether my attached devices worked or not. Sure enough, unless BOTH fuses are in place, absolutely zero voltage is shown on the wire. I even checked using different fuses to eliminate that aspect. If I burn out my original fuse, now my accessories wont work either. I have no idea why they would design it that way - I was expecting a completely new circuit path, not a circuit thats dependent on the original one...that makes no sense. 3Doesn't fit- NEED Mini Fuse Tap for Toyota Vehicles Doesn't fit like it is supposed to!Amazon had this listed as being the right size for my '98 4Runner, and you need Mini fuses instead. In fact, it doesn't (As far as I can tell!) fit ANY Toyota product since it won't work in my daughter's 2015 RAV4 either!! Wont' fit in the under hood fuse box either! 1Great product Great product. Good quality. Came with several fuses (10, 5 and others). Came with instructions, so I knew where to connect the original fuse this guy was replacing (well, adding another circuit to, to be more precise).I used to it wire LED strips that I installed on my car. Connected 'em to a fuse that gets power only when the engine is running, so I get good looking bright DRLs that look nice at night too.Shipping was fast and packaging frustration-free.Definitely recommended. 5Perfect fit but watch the merchant I was adding a 12v power socket in my cargo area. I had several open (spare) fuse slots in my fuse box. This was the perfect idea. Plugged in this adapter after installing a fuse in the outer slot and all worked great. It is very compact. Note two things: 1) no instructions are provided and 2) I purchased two of these from Amazon but from different suppliers. One from ABLE PROVIDER came with fuses but the one from IPODCARPARTS did not even though both said they came with fuses. So be careful who the supplier is. 5
