    Five Stars 3 dollars worth of pipe fittings at the hardware store and my old SEARS compressor is back to work. It worked for 2 weeks and then would leak air out of the pressure valve as soon as it reached shut-off pressure and leak until it turned on again. Research and adjustment couldn't solve the problem. I finally ordered another from amazon through a different vendor because I thought it was a different brand. It wasn't and had the same problem right out of the box. Studying the valve while it malfunctioned I determined that if the valve had a shim about 1/2 the thickness of a 1/4'' washer it would work. Finding the thin washer was the hard part but it works now. 2Junk part This switch works, but not as well as the original. Maybe there is some calibration that can be done but the compressor will shut off around 110 psi, but then during use it comes back and turns off again quickly and then turns back on. I don't know exactly how to explain it but it seems like the pressure switch cannot make up it's mind about whether to turn on or off. I should have bought an original Devilbiss part...Update: after 3 months of occasional use the switch stopped working yesterday. I messaged the seller about warranty and got no reply. Part is junk - ordered the Devilbiss part today at twice the price. 1Excellent Replacement Switch for Makita MAC2000 Air Compressor My application was to replace the pressure switch on my MAC2000 air compressor, which is now obsolete. I was able to complete the repair in about an hour, without having to buy additional parts. To provide the necessary clearance to remove the old switch one needs to loosen the motor start capacitor (two screws) and remove the two plastic shields protecting the motor (four screws for the top shield and two screws for the front shield). Remove the front shield first. Clean and inspect the old fittings, wrap the fittings with Teflon tape and re-install. The openings for the electrical connections were the same size as the original switch and required no modifications. If you are working on a compressor, it is likely that you know how to remove a strain relief and star nut. After making the electrical connections, reinstall the plastic shields, capacitor, and test. The form factor is almost identical to the original switch, but to clearly see the regulated pressure gauge I rotated the output pressure regulated about 15 degrees. 5Exactly what I needed! I bought this to replace the switch on a Kobalt 30gal compressor that I've ran for a few years. I use the compressor to operate a sandblaster for several hours daily. So far - at one day in - I'm loving this. Everything installed quickly and easily, and having 3 ports for relief, gauge, and regulator/outflow placed where they are helps keep it neat and visible. The pressure relief valve and adjustments work great as well.I'll add more when I've ran the piece... 5What a deal! Best 18 bucks I've spent in a long time. The Sears part would have been $125. In my case for my Craftsman I needed 2 each 1/4" NPT plugs and a bushing to adapt the pressure relive valve. Other than that, I transferred the male spade connector blades from the original switch and everything wired up easy. The empty compressor fired up right away and shut off at 125 psi. 5Cheap I installed this switch on my craftsman compressor. After a few modifications " so it would fit" it worked perfectly. I used the compressor twice, and the switch burned up. Wont even cycle on now. While looking at the cut off lever " which is made of plastic" I noticed that its burnt almost into. Wasted my time and money on this one. It looks heavy duty, and I was excited when I received it. But it doesn't last like it should. 1Amazing fix for a solid compressor Perfect replacement for an older cast iron head compressor made by crasftman. Grandfather bought at a flea market and the train of adapters coming off it was ridiculous. This product indicates where to place what wires along with cleans up the appearance. I set my tank to shut off at 135 instead of 125psi. This valve allows you to go into the tank, have the relief valve on one side, along with the tank guage and pressure regular all together nice and neat. shipping was in time and it was a pleasure doing business with this company. 5Works perfectly Installs easily and brings new life to my old Sanborn 3-1/2 hp Black Max compressor. The only modification I needed to make was to add an elbow and a couple of pipe nipples so that I could easily screw the new switch in to the existing compressor tank fitting. This was a bad design on the part of the Sanborn compressor because I had to disassemble the original switch to allow sufficient clearance to unscrew it. You don't want to disassemble one of these switches and then try to hold it together against the internal spring while installing the top part. Believe me! 5Screws inside is stripped out. One of the 4 screws inside is stripped out. Of course it was the last wire I installed after plumbing and installing the switch. Too much work to replace, will get a larger screw to fix. 1Broken out of box? Edited! Edit 10/31/18.Original review below. After purchasing and installing this, the unloader valve was leaking like crazy. I turned around and bought a Square D thinking my problem was solved. After installing the Square D unit, the unloader was leaking on it! Turns out that the installation of the first switch happened at the same time as the check valve failing, causing the continuous leak in the unloader. This product is still inferior to the Square D, but it did function (electrically) the way it was supposed to for the few minutes I actually used it. Changing my rating to a two star, simply because it is still a cheap and flimsy switch compared to what you can get for a few dollars more.Bought this to replace the switch on my 11 gal 3.5 horsepower Campbell Hausfeld compressor. After installing the pressure line switch leaks constantly. Received 10/25/18 installed 10/27/18. After finding this failed part I went to the return area where it informs me that this product is unavailable for return, 2 days after receiving, 4 days after ordering. Save yourself time and dont buy this defective product that you will not be allowed to return when it doesn't work straight out of the box. 2
