    Great desk lamp at a great price. I just received this lamp today. I bought this model because it looks great next to my iMac. The silver color and LED lighting compliments it wonderfully. This lamp is quality. You can tell by the feel that it is made to last. It even comes with a little allen wrench in case you ever need to tighten the joints that allow you to position the lamp. It has 3 brightness levels that you can change with a touch of the pad on the base. I am very pleased with this purchase and would recommend it. 5Needs a little more work Update: 5/2015 dropped from 3 to 1 starsAnother lamp dead. I now have two left that work. The death of the second one is that it will not stay turned on. With a 50% failure rate these are not worth bringing home. Find another brand made somewhere other than China.Overall I like this LED lamp. It movable enough to get it at most any angle you would need. I has some metal parts and seems well constructed. I like that they have 4 settings including off. I've now had four of these in my possession and here are the results.1 - DOA3 - The middle light setting has soft high pitched sound. I hate white noise so some people might not care.I would have rated 4 stars if it was not for the high pitched sound. Since I had one DOA and have only owned 2 of them for a couple months I can't give 5 stars because long term reliability is unknown.Thankfully Amazon has always given me great customer service so the DOA lamp wasn't much of a hassle. 2Good lamp for desk, also for bedside I initially got this lamp for bedside reading in a dimly lit room. The set up was brief and easy (for a female). Now it sits on my desk and I have it on for about 12 hours a day, if not more. I've had it for almost a year and no complain on light output quality, nor hardware issues. The 1-star reviews had me looking at other options when I was still searching, but for the given price, I gave it a try anyway. I guess I was lucky to not receive a defective one!LIGHT LEVEL:Personally, I have good eye vision, and I prefer to have a good amount of light when I'm reading, or even just sitting there surfing the web. Even so, I normally have this lamp on level 2 light, and not the brightest level. At mid level (there are 3 levels), I found that there is enough light, daytime or nighttime. I only used the brightest level when my room light is off and I need to do some heavy reading. At nighttime when my spouse is sleeping, I have it on the lowest light level and he said it doesn't bother him. Just to give you an overall idea of the light levels. If you are a student who needs to do a lot of reading, I say this light is good enough!PHYSICAL ADJUSTMENT:It is fairly easy to adjust the lamp to a satisfying angle: lean forward/backward, a bit to the sides, fold down so light is directed to the back direction, and etc... It is one of the reasons why I chose this lamp. When I first got this lamp, I was out of state for a summer vacation, and I was sleeping on the floor. I needed a lamp that can provide good lighting at the ground level, and not cast a shadow from the top down, or casting too much light directly on my face. This lamp allowed me to do just that. I placed the lamp behind my head and folded it down vertically, casting light in direction parallel to the ground, and directly onto the pages and not my face. Let me also add that it is LED, so there was no heat issue involved.Reasonable pricing, looks nice, and functional. I would recommend it. 5Fantastic alternative to boring desk lamp designs. Bright, stylish, and easy to use! I was looking for a nice desk lamp to put on my desk in my college dorm room. I wanted something stylish, instead of the usual boring lamps you find in college. I also wanted something that had touch controls so that I could easily turn it on/off without fumbling for a switch.This lamp is pretty much perfect. It has three brightness settings; a user can cycle through these three settings by tapping the touch-sensitive surface at the bottom of the lamp. The brightest setting is VERY bright - I often use the second or first brightness level, which works fine for late-night schoolwork and is super easy on the eyes. The touch surface is extremely responsive, and it's easy to reach over and tap the surface once or twice to turn the lamp off before I call it a night.The overall build quality is good. There are a few seams visible in the plastic, but that's a minor complaint, and I won't dock a star from the overall rating just from that. It looks fantastic at pretty much any desk, and I love the futuristic look next to my iMac and CyberAcoustics speakers.Buy this if you need an alternative to a boring standard desk lamp. Would highly recommend. 5One Star on hinge. Five stars on customer service After 4 month of usage, it broke off on the hinge area. Just contacted company by sending an email to see if I can get a replacement part.Other than what happened to the hinge, it was a great lamp.Update : contacted customer service. They sent me the part with free shipping. Now we have working lamp. Thank you 4Excellent product It does not bend side to side- it has two joints, one at the base and one at the top and they move in one direction only. If it is fully extended, it will tip over unless you employ clever physics maneuvers (which I do because I'm a nerd). The light is very bright and it is nice that it has several settings in case I don't want it that bright all the time. The different settings really make it a multi purpose lamp, not just a desk lamp. I can use it as a soft light at night time also. Keep in mind that this LED type bulb does give off blue tinted light. That part was a little weird at first but I got used to it. The light part does not get hot at all, which I am VERY picky about because I'm paranoid about fire safety. That being said, I don't have any problem at all leaving this lamp on all afternoon even if I'm going to be in a different room. It doesn't get hot and it doesn't use much electricity since it's LED and also the bulbs should pretty much last forever so I don't have to worry about that. It would be 5 stars if it could bend side to side as advertised. Other than that perfect lamp. 4Better than expected Updated: After 2 months the lamp no longer works, would not recommendWell the lamp is bigger than I thought it would be at first so that was nice. The touch feature is also pretty cool, I mean its only saving you from pressing a button or switch but still its convenient.The best part is how bright the light is, I was impressed. On its lowest level it is strong enough to light up my desk for homework with all the other lights off, and on its highest setting it actually lights up the room decently. You can also adjust (vertically) the light arm to increase or decrease the area that it covers.Actually, upon further use there is another best feature in my opinion! I didn't know I could rotate the lamp like this until a few days after having it. You can move the top light bar so its a straight line up and down or rotate it to the sides or up and down! So the light can be facing straight up for some nice ambient lighting, straight down onto a paper for focused light in a dorm/shared room, etc.! 2Just what I needed to illuminate my computer keyboard! I purchased my first one about three years ago and I love it so much I just purchased another. I use it for illuminating my computer keyboards. I have the height set at about 9 inches - that allows the lamp to sit completely off to the side of the keyboard, which gives me plenty of room to type and still be well below my field of vision so there's no harsh glare. And this thing is sturdy - I've lost track of the number of times I accidentally whacked it and knocked it to the floor. The only con I've noticed it that occasionally it gets stuck in one illumination setting but that's easy fixed by just unplugging the power cord from the base of the lamp for a couple seconds and plugging it back in. 5A sturdy and adjustable LED stand that just looks right. I've gone through several light stands and a lot of them have the problem of trying to clip onto the table, or aren't balanced right, or don't give enough light, or have odd designs. stands up with no problem, has an easily adjustable head, has different levels of brightness.PROS:* It has a simple design that matches anywhere it goes.* It's well balanced and has never fallen over. It just feels right.* The head is adjustable.* It has different levels of brightness that change when you press the button. It's bright enough to read, and dim enough to not blind your eyes late at night.* It's durable and lasts. I've used it for over 2 years now and still enjoy it. I use it every single day at least 12 hours a day. The only thing that would make it totally perfect is if it would dust itself!For the past 20 years I have been searching for just the right lamp for my desk, where I spend most of my waking hours. Sometimes I need a really good light for working, sometimes just enough to see my notes while playing a game. I've tried the usual gooseneck types and the ones that clamp. They all break within a year or so and ALL run much too hot, even when using LED bulbs.Last week I was watching the new Star Trek Into Darkness movie and noticed the lamps on the bridge. Adjustable lighting, adjustable arms in multiple ways, the light is the blue/white that I require (yellow makes me sleepy), AND it's LED (we haven't used incandescent for many years and even fluorescent bulbs get quite hot).
