    Works well, maybe too well - you might see something you wish you hadn't... This may not be the brightest UV light on the market, but it gets the job done, just turn the lights off.Having dogs, my wife and I have seen them have "accidents" (sometimes "intentionals" if they're in a mood) on the carpet and would clean them up. Well, with this little gem, we found there were many, many more spots that we didn't know about and can't see unaided. Our near future has a lot of carpet cleaning in it.I also used this to test the cleaning company at my workplace by putting UV-fluorescent dye in strategic locations. It's easily water soluble and doesn't even stand up to getting splashed with water, much less wiped with a damp cloth. Let's just say between the dye and "bodily fluids", I don't even want to go near the restrooms at work. Once you've seen it, you can't un-see it - ignorance was bliss, no matter how unsanitary that bliss was. Needless to say, I'll be looking for a new cleaning company as soon as possible! 5Works! At first I could not get the LED Black Flashlight to work so I emailed LEDwholesalers (through Amazon.com) for their suggestions or ideas. They quickly responded with a troubleshooting sheet of instructions to try. I followed them and got the flashlight to work! I'm not sure whether I had a bad battery (one was left over and the other 2 were from a brand new package) or if I had inserted one of the batteries incorrectly, however replacing the batteries as instructed solved my problem. I will include their troubleshooting guide here for others to use if/when they have problems:Please first try the following to see if the situation improves: * Remove the battery holder. * Check all metal contact points of the battery holder to make surethat they are clean and can make good contact with the battery terminals. * If applicable, remove the head of the flashlight and stretch thespring a little; re-install head. * Re-install with fresh batteries and try again, making sure thatthe polarity is correct (flat end of battery against spring, arrow onbattery holder point to the front/head). * In a dark area, such as the closet with lights turned off, shinethe flashlight on an object that has UV security features (such as a $20U.S. bill). A vertical strip should become visible.Let us know how it goes, and if it lights up at all (shine on a whitepiece of paper in a dark area)...Regards,LEDwholesalersSo, it pays to contact the seller if you are having problems with any of their products. Kudos to the seller for a quick response resulting in a quick solution. The mouse urine I was wanting to find and clean up after discovering a dead mouse the cat finally killed after one week, showed up brightly using this flashlight. 5Essential companion when buying pet stain eliminator I purchased the 21-LED flashlight to help find old and new pet stains on my carpet. It is lightweight and compact enough to hold comfortably in the palm of my hand and not take up too much storage space. The batteries were simple to install and have lasted a long time. Pet stains light up like Christmas, making them easy to detect, even older ones that occurred before I owned the house. It has been quite effective in determining where to applying the pet stain cleaner I also bought, resulting in less waste of the product and greater stain elimination, so it has essentially saved me money. I also use it to be certain I have effectively cleaned my bathroom. 5Covers a good area, no stooping I have used the bar blacklight in the past to find pet stains on my carpet, but in order to use it you had to either stoop over or crawl around on your hands an knees and it had to be pitch dark.This light is very small and compact, it fits in the palm of your hand. The LED's give it a fairly bright glow and the range is very good. I was able to walk my carpet and find spots while holding the flashlight naturally at my side or using sweeping motion in front of me with some ambient light from outside. No stopping over or crawling.It was also easy to hold in my mouth allowing me to use both hands to scrub the stain.[...] 5Love this. I bought another UV LED flashlight at ... Love this. I bought another UV LED flashlight at the same time of a different brand and wavelength for comparison purpose and so I could have one in another location. This one is SO much better. It has a brighter and wider beam because of the exposed bulbs (they're just under the grate on the end. They're well protected. Mine has traveled with me to over a year's worth of trade shows and is still going strong). The other has a cover on it like a typical flashlight and the bulb is set further in, so I think the difference in design may be hurting its effectiveness. 5SCORPIONS...HERE WE COME!!!!! This Blacklight Flashlight is wonderful for searching out Scorpions that may get into the house. Living in Arizona we have our fair share of them, but control them by having the inside of the house professionally sprayed every other month. I bought 2 of them and we use it at night when we need to go to the bathroom, in the event one got in. You do not want to step on these little critters, as their sting can be quite nasty. By using this black light at night you also see areas in your carpet, tile etc., that has stains and even dust. Even after vacuuming you can see things in the carpet that you can not see in daylight with the human eye.It is a great item for someone who travels a lot, who stays in hotel rooms. It is small enough to pack in your luggage and weighs very little. It will show human and animal stains on the bedspread, blanket, sheets, pillowcases and carpet...YUCK. Shine it in their toilet bowl and the seat to see how clean the maid left your room....DOUBLE YUCK!!!Great price and does what we need it to do. You will not go wrong with purchasing one...."SEE FOR YOURSELF" 5Bright UV light This is a well-made, long wavelength UV flashlight and works very well for viewing anything that fluoresces at 395 nm. Like most LED lights of this wavelength, the beam is fairly visible. That's due to the spectral width of the diodes' main peak, and the response of the human eye's S receptors (blue cones), which can extend down to 385 nM. In addition, almost all "near-UV LEDs have a low intensity, broad secondary spectral peak at 525 nm that causes the beam to be quite visible.If some visible output does not cause problems in your application, this long-wavelength UV source is very usable. It has a well made, "O-ring" sealed, machined and anodized case, a 3AAA battery holder that's easy and obvious to load and 21 bright LEDs.With any high-output UV light source, you should never look directly into the beam. Unfortunately, this source does not come with any instructions or cautions about looking directly into the LEDs without suitable eye protection.This is not a toy and should never be used by unsupervised children since it's output is probably high enough to cause retinal bleaching and possible cone damage if directly viewed for any significant period of time. 5Fun, Useful, Affordable, Reliable Fun to play with, useful around the house for spotting invisible spills, somewhat useful for medical purposes. We've found little things we dropped on the carpet by using this in a somewhat darkened room, and all foreign objects stand out strongly. Also great for finding places that need cleaning, not just on floors but walls too. The light is plenty strong enough, yet with a wide enough coverage field that you can scan an area of floor holding it at arm's length while walking. It's mostly visible light on the UV end, but who has the true UV cameras to use for that spectrum? Some true UV is converted by some organics (bacteria, etc.) to visible light, so that and the advantage of emphasizing near UV visible light is what makes it useful around the house. We've had it for many months now, and it's still going strong on the first set of batteries with our occasional use. 5Great little UV light!! So this little UV light is awesome. I originally got it to detect cat pee on things. I put on my yellow range safety glasses and lit this up. To my surprise the pee lit up as is it were glow in the dark. Then I was looking for other uses for this. I learned that the UV light emitted from these LED's are dangerous to human eyes if prolonged exposure, which was ok for my next use. I mounted this to my home defense firearm. I know it sounds weird and you may be thinking WTF, but after a little research I come to find out that humans naturally shy away from the very bright UV light and that is exactly what this is. Plus in the dark this will light up an intruders face and you know where to aim.Secondly I wanted to point out that the batteries lasted forever on this unit. 5Great for spotting my dogs accidents. I didn't know what to expect when I purchased this for finding my dogs accidents. I had hoped it would aid in cleaning a few little spots. After using it the first time during the daylight hrs I spotted quite a few areas that had me carrying the uv light everywhere I walked (home) in order to avoid stepping on dried dog pee. Once the sun went down I tried it at again and was blown away at how bright all the spots glowed. I wanted to move at that moment due to the numerous areas glowing!!! The previous owners had dogs and I also have dogs. This two story mostly carpeted home was glowing like a rave party with glow sticks. The uv flash light has allowed me to see almost invisible spots that have dried, now I wait till night time to clean the carpet spot by spot as well as the bathrooms. Very useful. 4
