Perfect case for my Sennheiser 598 SEs, just as advertised! This case is SO much better than any of the bad reviews would have led me to believe. I found a few sites recommending this as a perfect solution for my Sennheiser HD 598 Special Edition, and I couldn't be happier. The case is solid, firm and well-built without being gaudy or trying too hard. The large zipper, unlike many other brands I saw reviewed, feels really smooth and prepared for long-term use (note: so does the zipper on the bag inside the case). Speaking of the little velcro bag, it is an ingenious design for putting cords in the center of the case without compromising your space or making it hard to get to. The simple velcro strap provided is strong and has multiple uses, from securing your headphones to the inside of the case to looping it around the outside handle for connecting to luggage and other things, like a heavy coat.The fit is absolutely perfect, as though this was made by Sennheiser only for my model of headphones. I know that isn't the case (pardon the pun ...=), but it just seems that way. They fit right up against the sides with just enough play not to get squeezed, and when I close the case it zips tightly and smoothly. I can actually see through the opening the 598s being gently pushed down into place as the top clamps shut ...magic.Lastly, I don't know if this is something they fixed or I just got lucky, but mine showed up without even a trace of the weird smell so many other people mentioned. The outside doesn't smell at all, and the inside smells like new fabric, just like it should. If you own Sennheiser 500s or anything similarly shaped, just buy this case. Don't take a chance on the other brands that have such mixed reviews; you'll be happy you made the right decision. 5Sennheiser HD-428s & Sennheiser HD-439 fit perfectly As the title of this review indicates, those headphones fit perfectly in this case - without being required to remove the cable (in the case of the HD439s). The case appears fairly solid, though does not rise to the level of protection offered by the Slappa Full Sized HardBody PRO Headphone Case (SL-HP-07) for only a few dollars more. Granted, the Slappa is considerably larger and headphones such as those in the Sennheiser 400 (and for that matter, 500) are much better suited (size wise) to this CASEBUDi - the fit is snug and secure. For those who remember the days of Case Logic cases for virtually anything and everything (i.e., cassettes, cds, pull-out tape-decks, pull-out cd players, etc.), this is very reminiscent of a Case Logic product; well made, not overly tank-like and not offering a ton of protection, but adequate for the type of everyday occurrences you are likely to experience. It's an overall good product and does what it is supposed to do.Also, as many have already mentioned, the smell of these cases out of the box is unbearable. The reviewer who opined that he felt these would be toxic hit the nail on the head - it smells like you will definitely develop some manner of tumors should you leave these to close to you. Initially, I refused to put my headphones in these cases (I purchased two) for fear that the smell would transfer to the headphones as well (a Seinfeld episode on that topic comes to mind). As others did, I left these outside to see if the smell would dissipate, and, to an extent, it did, but not completely.Ordinarily, these would probably get a four star rating, but such a wholly noxious, headache-inducing smell is inexcusable. 3A solid buy, as a Sennheiser fan. Normally, I don't review items of such a black and white nature. It's a case right? Everything you intend to put in it either fits or it doesn't; it's up to the consumer in a situation like this to know ahead of time whether that will be the case. End of story? I think not.I own several Sennheiser headphones, of varying sizes and shapes, and typically they don't leave my house. I have a few pairs that DO get to travel frequently (an example being HD 439's), but many more that don't (starting at my HD558's). I read on an external site that this case fit the 5x8 series nicely, and decided to give them a try...On the positive side, YES, this case (Large version) fits the 5x8 series like a glove... like it was MADE to hug them. There has been some debate as to whether removing the cord is a must and I fall into the Pro-Removal camp. They DO fit with the cord attached... but I can't see any reason to shave years off of your cords life by putting unnecessary pressure right at the point of termination like that.. and YES... it does have to bend a bit to fit (attached)The lining of the case is plush and the rubber exterior (think of old Case Logic cd cases for a reference) is durable feeling. The Velcro pouch is durable, and it's nice to have the freedom to place it where it wont leave an indentation on your ear pads. CASEBUDi also includes a velcro cable management strap; something I don't see listed in the "included" section, and didn't see mentioned in reviews I read. I thought it was a nice touch.Now all of this is nice, but the case is NOT without issues... Let's start with fit. While it DOES hug the 5x8 models like a custom tailored glove, the 4x9 models that I tried, had too much wiggle room. They would still be adequately protected, but don't expect a secure fit on anything smaller than 5x8 or 5x5 series.Moving on, the extras and why I think they could be better.. The velcro pouch Is durable and handy... there's no denying that. It is NOT big enough to fit the standard cable that comes with the 5x8 series however, (roughly 10 feet long and very thick) and I personally think this is a bit of an oversight when listing them as compatible with a certain model. I am sure that their R&D team had reasons for not making the pouch that big. maybe at one point they tried it out , and it obstructed the headphones. That said, the optional 4' 3.5mm cable for these models fits in the pouch though it is TIGHT, and the inclusion of the cable tie makes this more of a gripe than a real issuesNext, the carabiner strap.. is pretty thin like others have said. I am not going to jump to conclusions and say it's flimsy because I simply haven't spent enough time with it to tell, but I wouldn't go twirling it around my finger next to heavy traffic or anything like that (just saying).A few other thoughts.... I am not a huge fan of the zipper... which could turn out to be a big deal later, but I doubt it. It feels... I don't know.... crunchy? I do note the smell that others were talking about HOWEVER, it is not strong, or overpowering. I am a nonsmoker and have a pretty good sniffer... smelling it (weird I know) was like the first thing I did. That said, there is the slight aroma of Chinese industry on the case, but it was nothing an hour in the sun couldn't fix. I wish that there was a bit of padding, but I can't complain about that because I knew there wasn't going into the purchase.Final thoughts... If you are looking for a solid, low price storage/travel solution for you Sennheiser 5x whatever series (or even 4x whatever) look no further you have a good product right here. Chances are this case isn't going to really protect your set from a huge (10-20ft) drop, but if you are looking for that kind of protection you probably wouldn't be shopping in this price range anyway.Hope my thoughts helped someone out. Take care. 5Perfect Fit! This was a perfect fit for my Sennheiser 595's. When the case is closed they fit snug with no shifting of the headphones inside. Comes with a small zippered pouch on the inside which can fit some smaller accessories, but not much else...this is fine, because there is a large space in the center where I'm able to easily fit my headphone amp, my Westone 2 earphones in their own case, and several other accessories with room to spare. The case itself is very solid, hard, and impact resistant. My 2 year old actually jumped off our couch and landed on it feet first, luckily, only our 2 year suffered damage(very minor) - the case and headphones remained unharmed. The inside doesn't have much of any padding inside, but is not needed because of the solidity of the case...when its zippered-up it acts as a full solid enclosure with absolutely no wiggle or waggle(you know, high tech talk for side-to-side shifting:) around the entirety of the zipper. The outside of the case is textured so no worries on fingerprints or smudges, but cleaning of any food stuff is a little tough because of the texture be pretty deep(good for gripping tough). Comes with an attached lanyard and includes a carabiner which I thought was a nice touch. As a final note, the case had fallen out of my bag while running into the house from my car in a heavy rain storm...didn't notice for about 30 min. When I came out and brought them in I feared for the worse, however, not a single drop of moisture found its way in. Highly recommended! 5Well made, but does not fit the HD650 Well constructed, but does not really fit the Sennheiser HD650 (as the description claims). You have to disconnect the cables for the HD650's to even come close to fitting, and even then, the zipper won't really close without putting a fair amount of force on it (more than I was comfortable doing to my HD650's). These should be great for smaller headphones, but they're just a tad too small for the HD650's. 3Good, But Not The Best Like two other reviewers state, with the Sennheiser 598 headphones, one must squeeze the cords into the case. The headphones still fit and the case protect the headphones well. The zipper is already slightly separating after three days of usage. Quality is suspect. I also smell the same odor others have noticed. The odor is remedied with spraying the case with air freshener and airing-out the case for a day outdoors. Thank you for the other reviewers who note this.Not enough to hassle with a return at this point and will update with extended usage. I'm an audiophile and have two other cases from other manufactures and they seem far superior. Rated three stars for "I Like It"; however, not the best on the market. Given other alternatives at the same price point, I would not purchase again.For reference, I have the Slappa Full Sized HardBody PRO Headphone Case (SL-HP-07) also sold on Amazon and they seem far superior. No zipper issues, no smell and more aesthetically appealing.What would make this a four or five star review is for the case to have a less flimsy zipper. I hope that you find this helpful when making a purchasing decision. 3The case itself is sturdy and the zipper is confident enough I bought this a year ago for my Sennheiser Urbanite XL Wireless headphones. The case itself is sturdy and the zipper is confident enough. It fits my rather large Sennheisers easily. The loss of 2 stars is due to the ribbon/cable on the outside of the case. I hang my case from it outside of my messenger bag when not wearing the headphones. At first the cable was too long, which I addressed by wrapping it several times around the carabiner that attached it to my bag; not great, but workable.Then today the cable snapped. Thankfully I caught the case before it hit the pavement, so no harm done but now I am in the market for a new case with a better method of attachment.The case which came with my older VModa's never had this issue. Unfortunately those cases are too small for the Urbanite XLs. 3Perfectly fits Sennheiser's Urbanite XL This case is top quality and will perfectly fit Sennheiser's Urbanite XL Wireless headphones 5Also a good case for the Audio Technica ATH-M50 I bought this after trying another case that was a bit too small for my headphones. I can confirm that this case fits the ATH-M50's pretty well. not to tight, and plenty of room for the cord. 5Fits HD 280 Headphones. Sturdy protection with plenty of room. I use this for a Sennheiser HD280. Fits fine with some room to spare but not a perfect fit mind you. Definitely a sturdy product that protects the headphones. It comes with a small zipper pouch so you can store some adapters if you need but I haven't found any use for it as of yet. I'd purchase again if the need arises.Pros: Sturdy construction and plenty of room for the price.Minor Con: Might be a little too big for most headphones. 5
